Detailed Description

This Game will consist on Dnd 5E Basis with a Heavy Homebrew style to make it a much more unique game for the players and myself.  An Example of this is that players will NOT have a class in the beginning it can be decided through their milestones in courses, their choices made, and sometimes even unforeseen situations. All skills are available to be used to everyone, Racial traits of whatever Race will be the same, and a bonus for skills from being from different nations will be applied as well when I distribute the Nations. Last but not least, there will be no Mana slots for naturally casting magic instead it will be replaced with Mana Pools, Ki Pools and other crazy methods. This game is to push boundaries of imagination and creativity to its limits while making a quality story. I only request players who are willing to see this game through the long term and will be dedicated to post as I put my best in to making this both a fun and unique game for each player's character. I ask for some patience and understanding if I tweak things around as we play to keep the game still challenging but still massively rewarding for smart and risky plays/ideas. Please Inquire for more question

  1. What's new in this game
  2. @OutKastJones Is the game already abandoned? You've seemingly gone radio silent, and the deadline is fast approaching.
  3. True, but "Considering Spheres" is better than the normal opinion, "I've never heard of Spheres", and far better than the other opinion, "Spheres is an affront to all things good and decent, it should be burned to ash and scattered to the four winds"
  4. I found The Spheres 5e Wiki, which looks interesting. Particularly since it looks like I can try to recreate something that I miss from 4e (and entirely other systems): Psychic powers/Psionics. But from the posts above, it sounded like @OutKastJones was considering using the spheres, but that the decision hadn't been finalized yet at the time of posting.
  5. Honestly I can second most of these questions, but @Ayeba I get the impression myself that you may only need to become familiar with the spheres system if that is how you intend to run your character's particular form of magic. I think the intent of this game is to mix and match how any "spellcaster" is casting their spells in a way that isn't just based on theme. Normal 5e magic can simply be described as slinging cards with fancy designs with no mechanical benefit for instance, and that remains true if you use the standard spell-slot system of the Player's Handbook or the Dungeon Master's guide optional spellpoint system. It seems to me that the prospective GM here is simply willing to take that concept several steps further by allowing other kinds of 5e conversions, or possibly even homebrew magic systems, likely even going so far as allowing re-flavoring non-magic class features as magical. Imagine a Barbarian that rages through arcane tattoos, or a rogue who can supernaturally enhance their accuracy and speed to represent sneak attack and evasion.
  6. I am curious about this game. The experimental nature of it appeals to me, but it also introduces some uncertainties. Perhaps you can alleviate some of them. 1. How do we apply for the game? Do we craft a character and let you decide whether we're accepted based on it? 2. If I understand correctly, we start without racial traits. But we still start with some race, right? So... do we choose one from a list, or make a description from which you'll decide, or something else? 3. Do we select a background, directly or otherwise, which explains what the character did before the start of the game? 4. Do we roll or point buy stats? Or are stats determined by our description? 5. For our backstory, do we add whatever elements we need to the world? I.e. can we add whatever locations/groups/families we need to make it work as long as it doesn't contradict existing lore, or do you want strict control over everything that exists? You obviously have the final word anyway, obviously. 6. I'm not familiar with the 5e spheres. Is it something I should sit down and learn?
  7. I am intrigued by notion of 5e Spheres, mainly used to the Pathfinder 1e Spheres. Partly wondering how we apply for this game.
  8. If this is using 5e spheres that would be really neat. I've been waiting for a 5e spheres game for so long, it seems like a good adaptation of the system and on paper at least seems like it works with the framework of the edition far more than it should.
  9. Too bad the card casting drawback isn’t ported to 5th spheres. I have an idea with the cards refluffed as tattoos. The more talents the PC knows, the more tattoos appear. They can light up, shift in form,…when they are used.
  10. Thanks for That I'm slowly getting used to it. Thanks for that I'm getting used to it slowly and reading up on how to use it. But I will have this game up and ready in no time.
  11. Huh. You posted this as a blog entry, instead of as a topic. I haven't seen that on here before. And yeah, the new site does take some getting used to, but once you get into the swing of things it is pretty simple. Just need to figure out all the quirks.
  12. I was actually considering that because it works with what I'm doing. And thanks good to be back.
  13. Hey Outkast, welcome back. Is it solely Dnd5th or can we add the spheres for 5th edition? my posting rate will be extremely slow (once every three to 4 weeks: job, family, home renovation). greetz BC
  14. If any questions ask here. Also if I'm not doing this right someone please msg me I'm use to the old forum.
