About This Game

Intended as an expanse-full campaign for FR enthusiast, set in the Realms for 4-5 PCs, this game will proceed through a series of smaller adventures set in a larger campaign arc starting in the year 1362 DR. Instead of making grand promises of a long-running campaign, we'll take it one step at a time. Hopefully, we'll enjoy a long run.

  1. What's new in this game
  2. Group A The skeletal orcs swing their falchions at the remaining dwarf warrior but do not manage to connect. The holy hammer smashes into one skeleton and shatters it with ease. Finwe completes a warding and steps forward, blade drawn. The cultists within the webbing can still be heard struggling within the tightly knit strands of arcane webbing. Qwynn rolls his barrel to the side and draws his blades as well. The two cultist zombies, barely visible though the dense webbing, seem to make some progress in breaking free of the webbing. The lone dwarf warrior, now flanked by Finwe and Qwynn, take the moment's respite to step back and let you two take point., injured as he is. OOC Note 1: +1 for higher ground to attack any creature on the stair. Note 2: Close creatures in the web have cover (+4 AC), far ones have total cover (can't be attacked).   3. Baldin Human (Chondathan), Cleric of Lathander Frustrated at the failure of his turning, Baldin is surprised to see the undead wink out of existence. Doing his best to adapt quickly, Baldin pauses in his planned healing of Daltin and instead tries to work on hampering the remaining cultists by letting them experience another "blessing" of Lathander. OOC I am casting Heat Metal. I'm a little confused about the targeting rules. If the circle option can affect metal held by people, then I want the circle to overlay all four cultists. If the only way to effect metal in someone's possession is by the first target rule, then I will target the two back cultists.
  4. I'll just keep that barrel to the side for now and if it looks like we are going to get overrun I'll will toss it down the stairs. .
  5. Yes and yes. They wear scale mail and wield a longsword. They also have a steel shield when holding their longswords.
  6. Sorry, one two more questions. Are the cultists wearing metal armor and are their weapons metal?
  7. Better be careful! The surviving dwarves will be very angry at you if you throw away some of their ale! "No! No! Take me beard, but don't take me ale!!!!"
  8. Still, pretty heavy if rolled down the stairs to try and trip someone, I hope.
  9. Though powerful for ale, it's still ale, so no. Neither is the barrel, really, except perhaps if a really powerful or prolonged heat were applied to it.
  10. Per the post , I'd say no. Possibly if he were standing where the dwarves currently are and behind Daltin.
  11. With the angle of the stairs, can Baldin see the casters?
  12. Let's not sow confusion. There were three creatures before the group with draconic features: 1. A large flying humanoid creature with scale and draconic features and wings. Now defeated. 2. Two medium sized draconic looking hound-like beats that have just vanished. See edit of latest post.
  13. There is a draco undead of some kind listed on group B's beasties... I bet it's got Yohan's armor stashed in it's lair Thats what I'm saving Yohan's (last ?) smite for.... woo hoo !

Human, Chondathan, Paladin of Lathander *FRONT ROW* As arrows *whizzed* past Yohan was dodging acid from his foe at point blank range and after a savage onslaught that saw the fall of the mighty hovering dragonkin the Knight of Aster turned to acknowledge Daltin in between breaths. "... I'll be calling you dragon slayer after this..." It was another miracle that Yohan remained unscathed this round, his faith and righteous anger had protected him from the evil enemy. Emboldened from his last smite upon the undead dragonkin, Yohan renews his attacks upon the evil undead acid spitting dragonkin before him *CRACK*... 11 blunt force trauma.. *BASH*... miss .. "..." The Knight of Aster's battle plan was to take down one enemy at a time ... and with Lathandar's blessing they would be victorious. Actions .. OoC knightly gear.. Scale armor, heavy steel shield, heavy mace, silver holy symbol other gear.. Waterskin, Rations 10 day, healers kit (10) main hand -- Holy symbol, Heavy Mace off hand -- Heavy spiked steel shield ooc: Baldin's cure light wounds heals 20 hp + Yohan's lay on hands 15 hp = 35 hp regained Actions (B init 4th ... after Daltin) Full Attack Agile Shield Fighter - Heavy mace vs spitting dragonkin - off hand Spiked steel shield vs spitting dragonkin immediate immune to fear .. allies 10' receive morale bonus +4 saves vs Fear ... immune to disease ... Daltin RockFist Shield Drawf, Barbarian Daltin finishes his swing and in a fluid, well-practiced motion draws a small vial, bites off the wax seal and downs its contents, before picking up his target for another swing. OOCThink of the "psyching up" as almost as a dwarven Haka without the continuous chants... Actions Stats AC: 17, HP:9/49, 5 rounds of rage remaining -2 Ac to 17 +4 Str for 20 (+5Hit/Dam)+4 Con for 19 for +4 HP, +2 for +4 will save 6/rnds remaining. MW dwarven waraxe +15 to hit / 1d10+9 dam. 33 to hit, 12 Damage Content
  16. Qwynn Maraphiir Moon Elf Ranger from Neverwinter Wood Qwynn places the barrel near the stairs in case he needs to kick it down the stairs. Drawing his blades he readies himself for combat and starts stabbing at the enemy as they approach. "Nice webbing!" He compliments his caster friend on his spellcraft. OoC Going to position barrel near the dwarf's side, then he will draw his blades and start stabbing the enemy with his shortswords. I don't know if I can squeeze in and stab both skeletons or if I have to wait for the dwarf to relinquish his spot so I can attack. Either way I will roll and let you decide.
  17. , the large creature was clearly not undead. The two on the front lines below it are, hence my edit of your actions, just FYI.
  18. Group B Dolan looses a bolt at the large, flying draconic beast. As it sinks into its chest, the bolt is more than it can take and it collapses to the stairs between the gathered cultists and draconic zombies, almost crushing some in its loud crash. Baldin calls on the Morninglord once more to shatter the necromantic energies holding the two smaller draconic beasts together, but though his faith is strong, he does not manage to muster enough to shatter them. His large foe defeated, an enraged Daltin does not blink as he lashes out at the smaller draconic beats before him. The waraxe sinks deep, but the yielding flesh of the dead beast softens what would otherwise be a more dire blow, absorbing much of the swing. Yohan's blunt weapons prove more effective and though he doesn't quite connect with this shield, his mace, guided by his divine grace, lands a solid blow, crushing into the beast's shoulder and crushing it, though it elicits now show of pain from the animated scaly one. The semi-translucent black scythe before Daltin and Yohan once more swipes at Yohan, but he is able to sidestep it this time. The draconic beast before Yohan spits out another glob of acidic spittle at the holy warrior, but the glob flies wide once more. It then vanishes as if it never were! Beldas shouts out again. "The dragonkin has fallen, we're routing them!" Two more small dragon shaped bolts of dark energy slam into Daltin, drawing him closer to collapse, though he shows no signs of pain or fatigue. As the draconic beast before Daltin spits out a glob of acidic spittle at the enraged warrior, but the glob flies wide once more. It then vanishes as if it never were! The cultists loose arrows at Daltin and Yohan, most fly wide but one sinks into Daltin's shoulder to half its haft. Two of them then drop their bows and draw blades to close with Daltin and Yohan, while the other two move up behind them. The dwarves, Bettargh included, return the favor with a volley of arrows of their own. Once sinks into a wounded cultist while another grazes one of the cultists below.   19. Sun Elf, Wizard Forget that barrel and help us kill these things before the others break out of the web spell. A quick chant (shield) to give himself some added protection and then he draws his rapier as he moves up next to the dwarf to try to help him. The spiritual hammer takes a swing at one of the remaining skeletons, shattering the bones as it hits. OOC Mage Armor: AC 17, duration: 5 hours Shield: +4 shield bonus to AC, duration: 5 minutes Curretn AC is 21. Spiritual weapon activated in round 1: Duration 4 rnds. Att: +4, Damage: 3d6 Hooded lantern with Continual Flame is hanging from his belt. Kodo has scent so can detect them if they get within 30', but can only pin point them if they are within 5'. Unless he spends a move action concentrating and trying to locate the smell. Not sure if that is a skill or just a flat Stat check. I am guessing it would be Wisdom.

Group A The decaying skeletal remains of orc warriors close in and swing their falchions at the remaining dwarf warrior, his armor deflects most of the slashes, but one slips through his armor and opens a large gash along his chest! The holy hammer smashes into the offending skeleton, shattering its skull to bone shards and dust. Finwe follows this with an incantation that scorches one of the zombies, reducing it to ash. From down the stair, comes only silence. The cultists within the webbing can still be heard struggling within the tightly knit strands of arcane webbing. Qwynn shows up, rolling a barrel before him. Two zombies, barely visible though the dense webbing, continue to struggle against it. The lone dwarf warrior, still facing tough odds, fails to connect with his latest slash at one of the remaining skeletons. OOC Note 1: +1 for higher ground to attack any creature on the stair.
