  3. Rite of Passage - Post 9 As the group makes camp for the night, Owen catches a glimpse of movement beyond the treeline, and the glint of eyes low to the ground staring from the shadows before quickly darting away.  The moment of excitement passes, and the group beds down for the night.  Aware of the dangers of the forest and being so far from home and help, the group gathers plenty of firewood and sets up a watch rotation for the night.  The packed rations, while not the tastiest of meals, are a welcome repast after the day's long journey.    It's during Owen's watch that he sees them.  Shouting out a warning, "There!" Owen shouts, attempting to awaken the others.  A pair of glowing eyes, staring from the darkness, reflecting back firelight in an ominous red.  One by one, more eyes join the rest -- low to the ground, slinking through the shadows, mere moments away from striking.   Game Mastery/Mechanical Stuff Roll initiative please. Also, roll 1d8.

  6. Okay.  New post is up in group one's game.  Now to move on to getting a second group up to speed.    My apologies for the unintentional hiatus.  I didn't expect it to take that long to get back to business.
  7.   Rite of Passage - Post 8 BOXTEXT  After dealing with the illusory orcs, the group is able to travel for most of the day in peace. Traveling the paths is relatively easy, and the trails and turns are well marked and easy to follow and, when there is any doubt, the map offers any needed guidance.  As sunset approaches, and the sunlight begins to fade, a cold wind begins to rattle through the leafless forest. There is no sign of civilization in sight; for some members of the group, this is the furthest they've ever been from home. Before the sun disappears behind the mountains, they are able to find a suitable camp site -- a level grove, surrounded on three sides by a thicket of bushes. There is plenty of dry wood to be found to start a fire, and a small creek nearby that offers fresh water for drinking and bathing. As the night settles, the group can hear eerie howling in the distance. Over the course of the next half hour, the howling grows closer before finally becoming eerily silent.   GAME MASTERY/MECHANICAL STUFF Perception checks, please. Assume that the group has been in this location for about an hour setting up camp and doing whatever. You can perform any activity that can be reasonably accomplished in that amount of time with that you have on hand.

  13. I'm sorry to hear that, but that was part of the purpose behind the game -- giving people a chance to metaphorically kick the proverbial tires of the allegorical car.   If you have specific complaints or suggestions, feel free to post them in the site feedback section of the main forum.
