Sarenrae's Divine Fighting Technique allows for fire-based spells to do non-lethal damage. Would you allow that to translate to spherecasting? Can I invent a fairly big religion to exist in Nexus? I envision a syncretic Mother Chrurch, venerating a range of goddesses, in a maiden/mother/crone distribution of roles and variations in dogma.

Nope. I think spheres should give you enough options to have decent skills.     Eh, Strix are appropriate, so other exotic stuff should be available as well. You can be "cosmetically old". That is, your ability scores don't change. We will assume that your physical scores used to be higher and your mental ones lower, until you aged into your current stats. Pre-crafting is allowed.   Sure, feel free to modify the REasons to be there.
