It was one of the couple of possible situation that Raalk had anticipated, and not the worst by far, so the Trollkin wasn't too disappointed yet. After several days of travelling together, the Dragonkin's s humour hadn't been unexpected either...

"(Primordial) And you haven't seen me put my best foot forward yet.... (/Primordial)" he teased, but he didn't linger, and instead walked into what looked like the middle of the village, and bellowed in the stentorian voice that all Trollkin were gifted with...

"(Giant) Greetings, We come in peace. We would just like to rest here a little bit, please ? (/Giant)"

"(Draconic) Greetings, We come in peace. We would just like to rest here a little bit, please ? (/Draconic)"

Hopefully one of them would go through, otherwise things may get trickier... Raalk had no idea what kind of languages were spoken so far from his home. He just had to hope...

  Luohn, the Archmage

The air elemental rushed through their ranks, but Luohn was not unprepared this time, and dodged the strongest part of the whirlwind. And since it was clear their foe was using his size against them, it seemed only sound to deny him that advantage. With a couple of words "Palime !" and the gesture of hands spreading complexly, the samsaran Enlarged Gaius so that the fight would be on more equal ground.

EDIT : using Prescience roll of 16 instead of Ref roll ==> Total = 16 + 9 = 25, passed.

Actually, crafting +1 Seeking arrows means they cost the same as +2 Arrows. So 8,000 gp for 50 of them indeed. If you got only 25% of the money, perhaps MC could agree to let you have 25% of the arrows, so 13 of them, say ?

 Raalk Gremweld

After weeks of travel, it was pleasant to see some form of village again. It meant possibly sleeping in a bed instead of on branches, potentially more varied food than just roasted game and berries, and also having a new source of information. It also meant that they were probably about to leave the suffocating jungle or the swamp, and get some space again at last. But the Trollkin remembered too that Samaa wasn't used to travelling, discovering and entering new places.

"(Primordial) Lady Samaa, please let me try to communicate first, and stay a couple of feet behind. If they are aggressive, we may have to flee. I don't expect it, don't worry, but I can't expose you, of course. (/Primordial)"

Once he had cleared that out, Raalk walked straight toward the people he had spotted. His intent was of course to repeat the same pattern that he had used close to the Genasi village, and call them out loud from afar where they would feel safe, and probably react more positively.

"(Common) Greetings, we are travellers from the jungle. We come in peace. We would like to rest here a little bit and move on in a couple of days. Is that possible, please ? (/Common)"

Whether he was deluding himself, or because he was used to dealing with old school people, Pekaku felt that he had dealt quite well with this meeting with Baba Qiyamət. Perhaps Nepungan will prove him wrong soon, but he certainly felt like he had scored points, and he smiled broadly as he tried to help the Necromancer gather his stuff.

"(English) I have been honored Sir, and I look forward to more guidance again at a next meeting. (/English)"

Then he watched him leave with Rejtély who had been waiting outside, and kept quiet. He had had a very very eventful day indeed. The stabbing in the subway, the elderly women with their box, the discovery of this Library, the training about the Prime Arcana, and next the meeting with Baba Qiyamət.... Now that it was all over, he felt downright cold and tired, and wished nothing more than to go back straight home and hit the sack. But he couldn't do that just yet.

Once the Moros and his Exemplum where safely away, he turned toward his own Mentor, and asked "(English) Well Ma'am, I think it went well, right ? (/English)" Appearances could be deceiving, and he didn't want to assume success unduly.

You're making me blush... I can only speak for myself, but I wouldn't have stuck if you hadn't been worth it as a person, and as a DM. And I look forward to going on together again and again until the end !

I would expect some concentration roll to be required, but the worst case is 20 + spell level (3 in this case) I think, and Luohn already has 10 CL + 10 from Int, and rolled 4 on his Prescience roll, so it is assured to succeed, barring a mistake from my end.

So, everyone now probably has got Haste to help with their Reflex saves, moving, and attacking.

Luohn, the Archmage

Lost in his conjectures, Luohn did not foresee the Elemental lunging upon him and struggled to resist as best he could the tug and pull from the whirlwind. Successfully so far.

He obviously couldn't be heard in this noise, and instead tried to do what he did best, support Terendelev's Vengeance endeavour through his increasingly powerful magic. Focusing was not so easy, but the Arcanist was now a veteran fighter, and he didn't let some wind deter him from his purpose. A couple of words later, the members from TV were graced with the now usual increased swiftness they had probably come to expect from the Samsaran, and Luohn rushed to greater safety than inside the Elemental.

Prescience ==> 1d20

DC 23 Ref Save against whirlwind ==> 1d20+8 (7 Ref, 1 Guidance)

I have at last updated Luohn to level 10, if you want to check it. Of note, I have taken the liberty to retcon the use of his Favored Class Bonus. I somehow had forgotten that Samsaran got one too for Arcanists. All in all, it means it loses 1hp at this level up instead of gaining anything, but he gains an extra Feat (Heighten Spell) instead. If you are uncomfortable with that, I will of course revert back to the previous status. Sorry for the trouble.

Google doc updated with a Lesser Toppling Metamagic Rod.

I have updated the Google doc with both your requests.

hoverfrog ==> your Headband is upgraded, and the Rod accounted for. A Lesser Extend Metamagic Rod is only 1,500 gp to craft though, so up to you, you still have some budget.

paro ==> Gaius' ring is upgraded to +2, and we also collectively have enough to upgrade the Cape of Free Will +2 to +3 (so actually +4 for Will saves !!). You're slightly above budget, but you were slightly before the round before, so it evens out quite nicely I think.

EDIT : also updated with Luohn's improved weapon. As a side note, I picked Telepathic Bond as a spell for Luohn, so we should be able to be much more stealthy now. And since he's got access to 5th level spells now, we also get access to Teleport, which I guess will be of great help sometimes.

Unpacking, settling in, and relaxing are all good things. I hope you're enjoying them :)

MAKIAL LATHERON

While he could hear the antics of the others, Makial had better things to do with his time than play the empty boasting game. He nodded to the man that had answered him "So mostly benevolent, aye ?" But it wasn't really a question anymore. For this reason, and also because he was more and more looking forward to the challenge, the young monk had made his mind and would at least follow the knight's trail.

Which of course lead straight to the remark by Taunus, seemingly the only one with some common sense here. He walked toward the ranger, and nodded in agreement. "I agree. Let's go now. With the others too ?" and while he was skeptical, sometimes there could be safety in numbers. Otherwise he would just have an increasingly challenging task in front of him.

ARMAND "Arm"

That Shadi man had a datapad that was begging for some a-lookin' into, and Arm could feel rising again the urge to just go to his face and demand what he wanted. He squeezed the handle of his beer, and crushed that thought into oblivion. That was exactly what had had the Razors exterminated...

So instead he kept his quiet, and his eyes on the prize, waiting until the proper moment to act.

I'd say something like 5 meters or so. Close enough to notice when he leaves, not close enough to hear more than a couple of loud words, and hopefully not close enouhg to be spotted either.

Whatever Baba Qiyamət had really on his mind with this half-smile, Pekaku could only guess. Perhaps later when they left his Master could spell it for him, but in the meantime, all he had were belief and ideas, that he tried to organize quickly. It was getting hard, after such a busy day, but he tried nonetheless. Focus now, get the job done, crash down later. He got silent for several seconds, trying to come up with something coherent.

I am no fool to think I am spearheading a new venue to deal with the Abyss, but perhaps I can find a new use for what Knowledge is already available, or contribute to making progress in that direction. And I am young, I have plenty of time ahead of me if that's a good direction, obviously. I just have to trust my elders to give me proper education so that I wouldn't waste it. (/English)" and he bowed his head slowly, a mute request of endorsement toward the Moros.

ARMAND "Arm"

Having also spotted the same guy, Arm looked at his current teammates. Yeah, he'd not been the only one. He was taking two steps toward the man when he remembered what he was doing here now. He was no longer a Razor here to demand answers or else... that time was over. Now he was just a chum trying to survive, and a chum like that should not be trying to stand out. So he slowed down, walked to the bar and ordered the cheapest beer, then waited until his quarry was about to leave to do likewise.

To prepare for the fight to come, I would like to make sure we are all properly geared. So, again, I looked at >our Google Doc< :

- @hoverfrog what would you like to do with your share of 6,000 gp, please ? you obviously have ideas, but I don't think I can find a clear choice anywhere, sorry.

- @Paro likewise, please ? I have done some checking (Gaius Sheet & Justiel Sheet), and I am not sure if they are up to date. Justiel already has a +2 Ring of Protection and a Cloak of Resistance +2 according the Google Doc, but not on its sheet, so you may want to update the sheet and spend some of your money elsewhere. Or obviously you can decide to save it, for instance to eventually upgrade your Belt of Mighty Constitution +4 to a Belt of Physical Might +4 later, for the modest sum of 12,000 gp...

- @bubblesmcprather obviously, the question is the same for you for your remaining share of 2,000 gp. Answer when you can, of course.

And as for me, I need to work on Luohn as well, obviously... Both sheet and gear...

"Hard to be sure in the Worldwound, but my bet is on controlled." Luohn said in his most professional assessment tone. If it was true, it meant the creatures could perhaps be dismissed or turned against the summoner. It also meant he could throw new threats at them in any way he saw fit...
