Bush was very liberal in his economic goals. He was responsible for giving GM the first bailout, as well as 2 other 'stimulus' packages that did absolutely nothing. He increased the budget deficit by huge amounts -- although not nearly as much as Obama is planning on increasing it.

If you dislike Bush's actions, then disagree with him for his actions -- but don't take a quote from a book and suggest that it means that most republicans are devoted disciples of Trotsky or any Marxist. That is very much out of context and absolutely absurd.
