  1. Ionacu Davian HP: 16/16 Saves: Fort 5, Ref 5, Will 6 AC: 15, Perception: 4, Speed: 25 ' Seeing only one enemy fighting amongst a gaggle of their group Ionacu decided to keep it simple and try for a mind assault on the frothing brute that had dropped Carthen. There was a quick command to Bran to repeat his scary screeching tactic then his own arcane assault was launched. A flap of wings, more raucous squawks, Bran did his thing while Ionacu wrapped up his spell casting. OOC Actions: 1 action: command Bran to intimidate 2 action: Daze basic Will DC 17 damage 4 hit points Status 2 x Cantrips, 1 x Lvl:1 spell used.
  2. Marshal Marshal Berringer "Would it be worth splitting up?" Marshal asked. "Dayv's an unknown in the Wastelands and might have more chance as a single operative to dig up information in town than a bunch of heavy weights driving in. I don't know about the rest of you, but unfortunately the undercover agent role is not really my thing."
  3. Marshal Marshal Berringer "So... there could be any number of reasons our dear Dead Eddie decided to hang out in El Corazon," Marshal mused as Luce commented on her obvious area of expertise. "What's the plan? Just blow into town? Or do we try and sneak up on the mines from the wilderness and observe a bit before making a direct move?" Marshal glanced around at the other Marshals curious as to their intentions. While he was talking Marshal had taken a moment to work through his magical backpack taking time to check some inventory.
  4. Ionacu Davian HP: 16/16 Saves: Fort 5, Ref 5, Will 6 AC: 15, Perception: 4, Speed: 25 ' There was a concerned hop back and forth as Ionacu tried to think of the best thing to do with the limited view he had of what was going on inside. Then the emergence of the bookkeeper and the shattered thrown vial that he could see through the open doorway made his options easy for him. There was a twirling finger and a quick spoken word. One of the shards of glass from the vial shot off the floor straight at its former possessor with all the force of a primed and cocked crossbow. It was a palpable hit, with the razor sharp glass edge leaving a deep bloody gash. Ionacu blinked in surprise to see the man gasp, then slide to the floor clutching his throat. He had little time to ponder his own actions though and moved over to get behind Ihrin to get a clearer view of just what was going on inside. OOC Actions: 2 action attack: telekentic projectile at Balko. Move towards the city side of Ihrin so there is some line of sign inside to see the rest of the protagonists.
  5. Marshal Marshal Berringer As they made their decision to go after the wanted dead, Dead Eddie, Marshal had an opportunity to talk shop with his new colleagues and explain to each how he could help enhance their abilities. Admiring Ilya's rifle he had commented his own was a secondary weapon that he typically used with magical aiming aids in an appropriate situation. Marshal had known a few abandoned mines in his time. Nasty treacherous places, with the constant threat of collapse and dangerous footing, especially if there was any water seepage making rock slick. The tunnels unlikely to suit either Ilya's ranged ability or his own expertise with explosives which he remarked on as they made their arrangements. Marshal was comfortable with his crafting conversations amongst peers, it was obvious though every time he talked to the judge he almost had to physically control himself to stop automatically saluting. He shouted ex-military as if he had a bullhorn. Still he became almost enthusiastic as the preparations progressed, as if acceptance of his position made him slowly content with a decision he had made.
  6. Marshal's default will be ignoring 15' difficult terrain and +6 damage.
  7. So for all party members, assuming we have time in the morning like a clerics prayers or magical book studying the friendly neighbourhood Blacksmith can provide the following benefits for a 24 hour period. Each character may select 2 of the following options to apply, and can change each day. +3 to AC, -3 to AC penalty +3 Competence bonus to will save Ignore 15' of difficult terrain +10 Hardness and hitpoints of armor and weapons, ignore -5 Hardness of objects when sundering +6 Str carrying capacity 3/day free action reflection of a magical ray +3 Competence bonus to reflex saves +6 Damage with manufactured weapons DR 6/- vs swarms I'd suggest to select your default 2 options. Check under Maintenance of the Blacksmith class if you want to read the original text .
  8. Marshal Marshal Berringer Marshal turned from Luce to consider the rest of the gathered group. "So. How does it work from here? We select some miscreant to serve justice to? We have a driver. I'd be interested to understand how the rest of the group operates, though I think I can make a fair guess as to your background Ilya."
  9. Typically 26 or 23 htps. Might roll a 1 though and lose 10. Can do that 10x a day. No chance of failure next level. So there is, looks worth a watch too. I had to search it. I'm no movie buff.
  10. Marshal Marshal Berringer Marshal coughed lightly into his hand with raised eyebrows for a moment at the proffered bottle in Luce's hand, the curiously old school militaristic young woman's offer of a drink seemed to have caught him a little off balance, whereupon Dayv made his entrance. Which gave Marshal a moment to compose himself and reply with a smile as he took up the whiskey once Dayv had done with it, "Why thank you, yes, I will." Marshal poured himself a dram and then raised the glass to toast all in the gathering. After a sip he swirled the whiskey around, a light grin on his face as if something had caught his fancy. "Appreciated," he said to Lucienne, taking another sip. "And niiice armour," came the polite comment though clearly sincere. "I might have thought Luce was lucerne hammer," Marshal continued with a chuckle and a nod at the polearm.
  11. Marshal Marshal Berringer The door to the Judge's office opened and a fair-haired man of medium build and no particularly distinguished good looks entered. He was dressed in functional black oiled leathers, a long riding coat suitable for both beast and bike, with a wide brimmed hat and a most extraordinary black metal shield come pauldron affixed to his left arm. He was a walking tool shop with a body harness strung about with every manner of device, vial, syringe, cannister, pocket and pouch. Over one shoulder was slung a rifle while at his right hip was a short stubby crossbow that looked nothing like a crossbow ought to, all metal gears, levers and springs. He looked at the other three marshals in the room with extreme interest. Then smiled pleasantly. "Good day all. Allow me to introduce myself, I'm Marshal Berringer. That's Marshal as in a first name." There was another keen appraisal. If there was one thing that was obvious between this man and the other individuals in the room it was his clothing was curiously clean and new, while his weapons showed some signs of wear and use, his outfit was clearly freshly purchased and certainly had never seen any dusty travel out in the Waste.
  12. I'm liking what I see IC already. Start at the top, Dead Eddie will be fine... killin's too good for tax evaders. I'll get a post up shortly then if we're clear to start.
  13. Thanks for the invite! Very much so! Have hopped onto Discord and moderately ready to go if we just expect to chat IC for a while... a few details on alchemical items to work through.
  14. From what I can tell Ionacu can command Bran and take an action in the same round but I'll check in with our dear GM Zen Gypsy first if that's okay please? I think it's an empathic (or later, a speech) thing which is free action type, unlike say ordering an eidolon around which takes time? (meh on the intimidate roll, would have been a nice way to start ho ho)
  15. Ionacu Davian HP: 16/16 Saves: Fort 5, Ref 5, Will 6 AC: 15, Perception: 4, Speed: 25 ' From Ionacu there was a strong empathic message to Bran, one they had practiced before, and there was a distinct and loud, "Get him, go! go!" and a pointing finger at the enemy in the doorway as much for the watchers on the roofs as much as anything else to indicate the attack was underway. In response the raven dived down from the roof top to appear suddenly squawking and screeching above the half-orc Hookshanks, the black raven in the minds eye now appearing twice it's normal size, all claws and flapping wings. "Be... cRRaaWWW... AFRAID!!!" Bran screeched. OOC Actions: Bran to move to the square above the half-orc spun out the door by Carthen and use the Intimidate skill to demoralise.
  16. Yeah, I did deliberately look to fill the niche, with full HPs for players and the BBEG, wands of cure light don't really cut it.
  17. I'll state Marshall as being ready for review. Any questions you might have regards the build or otherwise please let me know Penchant. I've explained a bit about the character design above and can easily expand on that. Happy to rework as required.
  18. Actually I specifically wanted Lore. I'd guessed Knowledge History would do, but that's a bit broad, a scholarly thing, rather than Lore for a background skill which would be more of the hobby feel I'd want. That's being overly pedantic though and I've just bunged something into the character sheet already regardless. Just about wrapped up by the way. I've another piece of storyline I want to do and add a few more alchemical minor items but the guts is there.
  19. Ionacu Davian HP: 16/16 Saves: Fort 5, Ref 5, Will 6 AC: 15, Perception: 4, Speed: 25 ' Ionacu blinked at the bravery displayed by Ihrn as she pitched her bluff and then entered the building alone. There was little to do now but see how matters played out. Positioned back somewhat from the main group Ionacu could assume he was being observed by his own team members up on the roofs. He idlily twiddled his thumbs then clasped his hands behind his back, the picture of patience.
  20. What Lore should we use to be familiar with the old ruins/civilization please Penchant? I’m wanting to work a bit of antiquarian hunter into Marshal’s background. Well, tech recoverer might be more apt :)
  21. "If it doesn't come out of a hypodermic needle, it's suspect." Aetherian technocrat. Though in truth Marshal's going to run out of talents (as usual). Always wanted to see if I could get a fancy steampunky launching crossbow working and it's chewing them up.
  22. Just as a comment it's fairly easy to overshadow existing players' standard 1e characters with Spheres also. I'm having to go back and forth quite a bit on my build. Will be throwing in some good alchemical healing rather than Ilya's dodgy magic stuff... 🙃
  23. Ionacu wants to find his ward first and foremost. The rest is secondary.
  24. Marshmallow Law Marshal Marshall Berringer Once upon a time, a long time ago. There was a Marshal by the name of Marshal. Who spoke like, "This."
  25. Marshal Law To explain the build for you Penchant - Basically an armoured tank to be able to move about the battlefield to repair men and equipment. The character has considerable in-combat medical abilities if you're familiar with the feat and treat deadly wounds combo. The blacksmith class provides good repair abilities for guns that get the broken condition or otherwise, if there's vehicles involved for example. The blacksmith also has useful daily group buffing abilities which can be seen under the Maintenance heading of the class (all spheres links are above). Offensively Marshall has a reasonably grunty alchemy grenade capability but that is highly ammunition restricted and has other issues, it's not instantaneous and if you're up against somebody with evasion it's worthless (see Other Notes in the character sheet for details). He's a specialist in taking out enemy weapons as a base ability of the blacksmith class, if troops are pinned down by a heavy machine gun he looks to take out the machine gun rather than the gunners. The key point with the build though is with his grenade launching crossbow and to have a bit of alchemy fun - to be able to shoot tanglefoot bags at range and so forth. One specific ability that could want noting as different from standard 1e is the active shield sphere ability to redirect missed attacks back at enemies at -2 to hit which costs an AoO to use. Useful side abilities are his high tracking skill level and the sphere's scout ability to identify creature weaknesses without resort to a knowledge skill. So, yeah, tried to stay on setting theme with the class, and with the group support abilities avoid any over-the-top damage output combos of spheres.
