For knowledge/investigation/medicine type checks (not necessarily perception) do people prefer that to be open to the table with a "this is the person who noticed it" call out or private secret messages?

Sorry for the delay in posting on my part. Friday's are my irl game and so they likely will either be a light post or no post day for me. Weekends also can be a little hit or miss and I think both groups are approaching a scene transition which requires a bit more writing than a usual post. I should be able to get something up at some point today
