  1. hello, me again i swear this is the last time i puposely bother you well kinda purposfuly do you think after yunaiga youl run a similar game?
  2. Hey, you haven't posted in the game forum at all. What is holding you back?
  3. right now, not a whole lot, i have been very busy as of late, but when i get inspiration i usually work on it.
  4. I'd be glad to help. What help do you need?
  5. like i said, i am still working on that, now if you would like to work with me on getting this world together that would be great. but for this game i am making it fairly simple.
  6. Not at all. It's a good point. But you do run into a bit of a problem with assuming the similar technology doesn't exist. Submarine warfare had a big effect on WW1 and WW2. You'd have to find something to substitute in that keeps history running on the same 'course'.
  7. But I also agree with him on the history point, but the whole point is that the entirety of history is not the same, i just haven't been able to write it all up yet because i am a busy person. But to say that magic does not evolve as he somewhat implied is partly the problem i have, magic is there but it's not as simple as just waking up and knowing how to conjure a spell. even sorcerers have to understand the magic inside of them before they just go galavanting off and throw scorching rays. wizards study it like a science as do artificers warlocks have the blood in them of magic-users, just like cheetahs have the DNA to be able to manipulate the muscles in their body to run very quickly.

sorry for the novel, but i feel like i needed to say it. but do you mind if i repost this on the thread, that way people can see it and better understand?

  8. That is partially the point, the DM and I want to play a very powerful game where the players think. If you want to try that, cool, go for it, but some things are not quite that simple. For instance, first you have to make a submarine, unless you can provide the stuff for one in one of the books i have never seen one. If you can make it up and pass it by the DM, and he "ok"s it, then it's cool.

the whole point is that you think like the people in this world would if it was real, they would take advantage of it just like we take advantage of technology today.

  9. While Absent was going a bit overboard in the advert thread, he does make some good points. How are you planning on dealing with cases where people try to apply magic logic to real world situations? For example, it could be argued that navies are mostly useless: toss freedom of movement onto a submarine and it becomes much faster. Then use a few decanters of endless water as thrust and it becomes mostly silent. Bam, fast and undetectable submarines. They'd easily outclass surface ships.

I think your idea sounds like it can be a lot of fun, but I'm worried about player abuse. Yes, I'm being nosy here. :p
