Appearance
Long-limbed, long-fingered, and always doing something, Kira possesses an average height, a dancer's build, and big, expressive eyes the color of lichen. She wears her thick brown hair long and loose, and only bothers with scrunchies when she notices it getting caught in more things than usual. All of her jeans and most of her shirts have paint splatters, clay stains, small burns, and other signs of creative expression forever joined to the fabric, and the fact that her shoes are almost unmarked is a good indication of how often she actually wears them.
Personality
Kira wears her heart on her sleeve, and if that heart changes faster than the weather, well, at least it's interesting to watch. Every feeling is vibrant and intense, rooted and running deep despite their mutability, and as much as Kira enjoys the ride she does try to keep it on track. She's warm to strangers, courteous to rivals, devoted to loved ones, and a stubborn optimist. In a World that likes to focus on what is scary and depressing, she chooses to find what is good and beautiful and show it to everyone who will look. It's important to acknowledge the shadows, but it's too easy to forget the sun.
Background
Kira grew up in Bayview, a community about an hour from Seattle. Her father and aunt were common presences in her life, taking her for a day in the city or a park a few times a year. She's never missed an equinox, and some of her earliest memories are of walking the great branches with Masha and talking to her drowsy Papa while he either fell asleep or woke up. And if her father was a bit forgetful, and her aunt often busy, well that was to be expected. It was why she had Anya, stern, stoic, and unflinching in his care. He taught her sorcery and first aid, helped her through bad dreams and meltdowns, and somehow found a good balance between accepting her oddities and teaching her control. Everything a young godling needs. And for her that was normal. Every kid thinks the way she grows up is normal.
In school Kira was always the weird kid, distracted and distracting, smart enough to keep up but more interested in doodling than academics. She made friends easily enough, but keeping them was harder. Mood swings and deep emotions are hallmarks of the Bogovi, inevitable as the sunrise, but in the mortal World that kind of pattern results in a diagnosis and a therapist and a prescription that steals the color from everything. Kira can handle high and low, appreciate and even enjoy her extremes. She can't live flat. It took years to find a doctor who understood that.
Now grown, Kira spends most of her time either in her studio or wandering through nature. Her community doesn't take her seriously, and Anya is the only person she told about her Visitation. Old habits die hard, and she wants to figure things out herself before letting anyone else in.
