  1. Happy Thanksgiving to you US people, hope it was a good one!
  2. Hopefully I'll be back to posting again soon
  3. As an update: We got a NEW new guy and he lasted for a week and a half. I am back to being the only person on overnights with a revolving door of temporaries. That said, I'm hoping in the next week or so that I can get back on track as I get back into my pattern of working alone and the major new construction project dies down a bit.
  4. Posting another update. Current construction projects were wrapping up, got our new guy trained, things were looking to get back to normal. Then, our new guy was no call no show for 2 days straight and then 20+ minutes late 4 days in a row after speaking with the supervisor. He's gone now. Back to just me. Now we're about ready to start up two new projects, so I'm going to be slammed again even before I recovered from the last wave.
  5. Update on the meatgrinder; New guy is trained, but we're still down a body. Two new construction projects started up so I am getting killed in the mornings and have been having to hold over well into the day shift to help them sort things. One of our day guys was on vacation and is now on leave for his marriage and honeymoon, meaning more morning work for me. So, while I was almost free of the extra work, his marriage timing has pulled me back into the pit.
  6. Hopefully things start improving for me this week. It has been a real headache.   As far as the bow thing, it's possible that having another person helping could speed up the process. If there is a bowyer in town, they could work in tandem and Morag would gladly give them a few gold for their effort.
  7. Yeah, crafting that bow will assuredly take weeks. Side note, spottiness continues but it's getting better. My training with the new guy is almost done, but we do have a lot going on this week. I'm having to switch my game over to Baldr too this week, so the extra time I have is about to get dunked there. Hopefully by next week I'll finally be good to go again.
  8. Am I just really blind or have the OOC and font color text options just... vanished? I was trying to copy my sheet over and edit it into the sheet I already spent a fair amount of time assembling and found a few of the editing options are missing from the header.   [color=deepskyblue]I mean I can cheat and use BBcode still, but I would like to try to get used to the new interface.[/color] I mean I can cheat and use BBcode still, but I would like to try to get used to the new interface.
  9. So it's 1 arcane essence to bump to +1 on weapons, and 4 to bump to +2 correct?
  10. So I might be spotty on Baldr for the next week or two because I have had no time of late to relearn the stuff I figured out during that same game. Really wishing they would just let me work alone or find some permanent people. It's such a colossal waste of my time to train people that will only work here for a night or two. EDIT: Also no, games will not automatically archive on Baldr. They only did it on OGMW because of old timey server code issues for leaving thousands of games open. Baldr doesn't have that issue and so they don't have an archive feature last I heard.
  11. I honestly keep forgetting to look at this for a week or so at a time. I imagine we're all having that problem.
  12. I forgot about bless, should have taken the sharpshooter -5 to hit and applied bless for the damage bonuses. Ah well, I'll remember for next time hopefully.
  13. Theron Jheliar - Human Blood Hunter/Rogue (Inquisitor) AC: 16 | HP: 51/55 | HD: 5/5d10 + 2/2d8 | Initiative: +3 | Passive Perception: 19 | Passive Investigation: 16 Saves: Str +1 / Dex +7 / Con +2 / Int +4 / Wis +4 / Cha +0 | Blood Maledict: 2/2 Conditions/Effects: Crimson Rite: Rite of the Dawn     The elemental creature was distracted and that was fine by him. Theron buried two more glowing bolts into the creature's side, ethereal chains pulling it downwards momentarily. The tight quarters forced a close confrontation, one which Theron did not relish, but running past the creature could lead to even more trouble so Theron held his ground for now. Besides, it seemed his companions were putting up a fight.   Actions • Attack Action (two attacks vs the Fire Form) ⦒ Attack 1: 21 vs AC for 10 piercing, 3 sneak attack (piercing) and 1 radiant damage ⦒ Attack 2: 26 vs AC for 14 piercing and 2 radiant damage ⦒ If the Fire Form is hit by at least one of the attacks, its speed is -10 until my next turn.
  14. I am back. I had an active fever up until sunday morning and had random bouts of insomnia (coupled with fever aches and fatigue which made me want to do nothing but stare at the ceiling for hours). Lots of fun all in all, but this evening is my first night back to work. Will be getting caught up on things over the next day or two.
  15. Theron Jheliar - Human Blood Hunter/Rogue (Inquisitor) AC: 16 | HP: 51/55 | HD: 5/5d10 + 2/2d8 | Initiative: +3 | Passive Perception: 19 | Passive Investigation: 16 Saves: Str +1 / Dex +7 / Con +2 / Int +4 / Wis +4 / Cha +0 | Blood Maledict: 2/2 Conditions/Effects: None   Theron was surprised only momentarily as he watched the fire roar to life. Using the tip of the bolt, he cut his hand and mumbled a few words. The blood vanished and the crossbow suddenly began to glow brightly, covered in strange glowing runes. Theron fired two bolts in the blink of an eye, with a barely noticeable pause as he reached back to draw the second bolt from the quiver. He backed away from the creature uncertain how much damage he had actually managed to inflict.   Actions • Bonus Action: Crimson Rite (Rite of the Dawn) - took 4 damage from activating the rite (grants necrotic/radiant resistance, attacks deal 1d6 radiant, lasts until next short or long rest). • Attack Action (two attacks vs the Fire Form) ⦒ Attack 1: 16 vs AC for 14 piercing and 2 radiant damage ⦒ Attack 2: 20 vs AC for 8 piercing and 3 radiant damage ⦒ If the Fire Form is hit by at least one of the attacks, its speed is -10 until my next turn. • Movement (away from the creature) *Note that Theron's crossbow sheds bright light out to 20 feet.

Theron Jheliar - Human Blood Hunter/Rogue (Inquisitor) AC: 16 | HP: 55/55 | HD: 5/5d10 + 2/2d8 | Initiative: +3 | Passive Perception: 19 | Passive Investigation: 16 Saves: Str +1 / Dex +7 / Con +2 / Int +4 / Wis +4 / Cha +0 | Blood Maledict: 2/2 Conditions/Effects: None     Theron glanced over his shoulder and saw the others were slowly following him, then returned his focus ahead of him. Well, at least they are quick on the uptake.   "No idea, not exactly what I was expecting on the other side of a portal in the tower." Theron replied quietly. He quietly advanced further down the hall, listening for anything out of the ordinary.
  17. I added an aura to my token that shows my light radius (bright light inner, dim light outer), if it bothers you too much Witch because it does dominate the map a bit sometimes to do it that way, I/you can turn it off. I'm actually not sure if other players can see an aura that a player sets (I know the DM auras have to be flagged to be visible to players).
  18. Theron Jheliar - Human Blood Hunter/Rogue (Inquisitor) AC: 16 | HP: 55/55 | HD: 5/5d10 + 2/2d8 | Initiative: +3 | Passive Perception: 19 | Passive Investigation: 16 Saves: Str +1 / Dex +7 / Con +2 / Int +4 / Wis +4 / Cha +0 | Blood Maledict: 2/2 Conditions/Effects: None The use for the glowing rapier's half-sheath was immediately apparent, as its light filled the room. The church had given it to him and he had often considered it a novelty more than anything but it certainly had its uses at times. "A lit brazier means that someone is probably here. Probably best to search some of the other areas first." Theron said quietly. With Penance at the ready, he quietly moved towards the darkened room, the light from his rapier spilling across it.

Theron Jheliar - Human Blood Hunter/Rogue (Inquisitor) AC: 16 | HP: 55/55 | HD: 5/5d10 + 2/2d8 | Initiative: +3 | Passive Perception: 19 | Passive Investigation: 16 Saves: Str +1 / Dex +7 / Con +2 / Int +4 / Wis +4 / Cha +0 | Blood Maledict: 2/2 Conditions/Effects: None     Theron nodded to Kuro when he answered. Things were off to an awkward start, but certainly better than most encounters with strangers.   "Well best not waste any more time then." Theron nodded to Norick's statement. He gave the area one last look around before walking up to the portal. Sokleh's appearance caused him to double take, but he said nothing to their shy guest. Theron loaded a bolt with practiced speed and grace into the golden masterwork that was Penance. He then walked right up to the portal, sticking a hand into it as though he were testing water temperature.
  20. Theron Jheliar - Human Blood Hunter/Rogue (Inquisitor) AC: 16 | HP: 55/55 | HD: 5/5d10 + 2/2d8 | Initiative: +3 | Passive Perception: 19 | Passive Investigation: 16 Saves: Str +1 / Dex +7 / Con +2 / Int +4 / Wis +4 / Cha +0 | Blood Maledict: 2/2 Conditions/Effects: None     Theron paused his search, wandering towards the center of the room. It was clear that many of them did not understand why exactly they were here and, while he hated public speaking, decided that someone should speak up.   "Quite the party we have here," he said as his eyes drifted to the hidden individual in the shadows. He couldn't quite make them out, but someone is definitely lurking. "though it would seem some of us are more shy than others." he turned his attention back to the rest of the room. "I am Theron, an Inquisitor of Pelor, wielder of the holy relic Penance. I suspect that your relics have lead you to this tower."   Quirkyjoe @QuirkyJoeI looked at your stealth vs my perception, if we just take passive values I edge you out, so I took the liberty of "spotting" you, without having any detailed information.
  21.   Theron Jheliar - Human Blood Hunter/Rogue (Inquisitor) AC: 16 | HP: 55/55 | HD: 5/5d10 + 2/2d8 | Initiative: +3 | Passive Perception: 19 | Passive Investigation: 16 Saves: Str +1 / Dex +7 / Con +2 / Int +4 / Wis +4 / Cha +0 | Blood Maledict: 2/2 Conditions/Effects: None   The church had insisted Theron have a retinue, ignoring his protests on the matter. They had traveled far and despite not being one for company, Theron ultimately decided he was at least somewhat glad to have had them come with. When they reached the tower, the door was sealed. Their priest, Norik, deciphered the script on the doorway and instructed Theron to pull out Penance. Theron did so, and script around the doorway reacted and the door slid open. The rest of the group drew weapons even as Norik cast a light spell. Theron drew a glowing rapier from his quiver, sheathing it in a strange half sheath in his belt. The group searched the area until they found the gateway and the statues. Theron immediately recognized Penance wielded by one of them. He did not recognize any of the others. Once the group had decided there was no imminent threat, they broke a partial camp as they waited for others to arrive. It was an ambitious plan, gathering a handful of artifact wielders together to enter the gateway, but it was the best one that had been devised thus far. While Theron did not exactly like having to rely on the church retinue, he relished the idea of relying on total strangers even less. Theron spent his time alternating between sorting bundles of bolts and moving them between the compartments of his magical quiver and studying the statues and the room itself.   Church Retinue • Norik (Priest, Cleric of Pelor - Level 3 Light Domain, Old Human Male) • Anduren (Guardian, Paladin of Pelor - Level 5 Oath of Devotion, Middle-Aged Human Male) • Paul, Kurtis (Initiates, Fighters - Level 1, Young Human Males) • Inarin (Initiate, Fighter - Level 1, Young Half-Elf Male) • Lissa (Inquisitor Initiate, Blood Hunter - Level 3 Ghostslayer Hunter Order, Young Human Female)
  22. Oh hey we're moving! I'll be able to get a post up this next evening.
  23. Yeah you can multiclass without limitation, but you do have to have the proper stats for the classes you are multi'ing into and out of. So if you were Warlock/Bard/Cleric you need 13 Cha/13 Wis (not too bad), but if you were to want say Wizard/Rogue/Paladin for some reason, you'd need 13 Str/13 Dex/13 Int/13 Cha. You should also be careful not to spread yourself too thin on caster multi's as it kinda messes with your spell progression a bit. 5/1/1 is probably fine, especially since warlock is its own special snowflake in regards to caster stuff.   That all said, I personally don't think a level of Bard is necessary. If you want to provide group bonuses take a level of peace cleric (can take guidance cantrip as well), but you should probably focus on your primary caster class.
