Dolan Human Rogue Realizing that the defensive line that the dwarves were forming at the top of the staircase was something that he had no experience with, and no ability to improve upon, Dolan decided to hang back, crossbow at the ready to snipe at anything that came walking or crawling up the staircase. Would Yohan have given Dolan his dwarven short sword back after getting weapons and armor from the dwarves?

Dolan Human Rogue After enjoying the evening with the dwarves, appreciating the tales of the dwarven twins setting traps and finding bodies caught by them, and glad that he's not one of those bodies, at least not yet, Dolan is brought back to almost full sobriety when Kealea tells them that they are under siege. He took a moment to decide which group he should go with, unsure which group would need his skills the most, but he decides to follow Beldas and their new companion, Daltin.

Maximilian Cornelius Spurbright Human Wizard from Cormyr With his dagger drawn, but not wanting to get any closer to the creature, Maximilian decides to cast a spell he had been saving for the next time they ran into the ants. He takes aim carefully, trying to catch the creature in the cone of scintillating lights, but not Rodin or Aeruiel. With that, he reaches into his spell component pouch and takes out a small, pre-folded piece of parchment, unfolding it and letting the colored sand within pour into his open hand. Maximilian speaks the arcane words and traces out the symbol in the air that releases the spell he had memorized, sending a cone of clashing colors bursting forth from his hand. Actions Cast angled so that it hits the creature, but not Rodin. The 15 ft limit should keep it from hitting Aeruiel, who I think is 20 ft away from Maximilian. Dolan Human (Illuskan/Chondathan), Rogue Getting ready to head up the stairs, Dolan hears Bettargh's words and gives a nod. "That's probably a good idea. We've got time," he says. While they're preparing to head back to the dwarfhold, Dolan takes one last look up the staircase and decides to press his luck just a little. Putting his hands on either side of his mouth to amplify his voice, he calls up the staircase in Goblin. "Goblins! Kill your orc masters and we let you leave these halls alive! Fight us and we roast you alive!" He turns back to his companions. "Alright, let's get the Hells out of here while the Direlords deal with that." With that, he quickly leads the others back to the safety of the Clan Ironaxe dwarfhold.

Dolan Human (Illuskan/Chondathan), Rogue "Looks like the goblins left seven silvers behind. We can divvy those up when we get a chance," Dolan says, giving the latest room a quick search as well. "With no one injured anymore, I agree with Finwe. If our first priority is getting Yohan his equipment back, I'd bet that we'd stand a better chance of finding it up there, especially since you were brought down here from the surface. You probably came down those stairs to get to this floor," Dolan says. With that, he leads the group north, back to the bottom of the staircase, which Dolan checks thoroughly for traps. "If you have anything you'd like to do before we go goblin- and troll-hunting, do it now," Dolan says. He takes a piece of chalk from his backpack and starts writing a message on the wallIn the Goblin language, the message reads: "This floor belongs to dwarves. Goblins caught here get roasted alive for dwarf fun." inside the staircase in Goblin, smirking a little as he puts the chalk away. He wants it to be visible to anyone walking down the staircase before they exit the staircase and arrive on this floor.

Alright, assuming that we're about to finish exploring this floor, where to next? Up the stairs where the goblin ran? Down the stairs to the SE of this floor? If the first priority is to get Yohan's armor back, does he know if the last set of stairs he was led to were heading up or down from his perspective at the time? If he knows he walked down a set of stairs to get here, then his armor is probably somewhere up those stairs, I'd imagine.

Dolan Human (Illuskan/Chondathan), Rogue Dolan gives the room a quick search, suspecting that he'll find nothing, but hoping to find something that the Direlords have left behind. Afterward, he moves back into the hallway and heads north, keeping an eye out for traps and shining the glowstone into what might be the last unexplored area on this floor.

Dolan Human (Illuskan/Chondathan), Rogue Smiling at Bettargh's suspicious response to Yohan's question, Dolan continues north up the hallway, keeping an eye out for traps. It made sense, after all, that Bettargh wouldn't tell them where the treasures were kept, since they had only known each other for a few days now and they still hadn't quite proved that they'd return extremely valuable treasure if they found it, as long as they didn't count the magic items they had found recently.

Dolan Human (Illuskan/Chondathan), Rogue Dolan shakes his head at Qwynn's question. "I don't believe so. But we can find out shortly," he said, continuing to investigate the floor, and keeping an ear out for Yohan's and Bettargh's conversation to make sure things don't get too heated. Yohan was right, of course. Runedardath was a labyrinth full of creatures that wanted to eat them, though maybe the halls were designed to be intuitive for a dwarf to navigate as naturally as a human would walk through a market in Daggerford. When they had a chance to relax, he decided that he'd ask Bettargh or Trammel just how dwarves navigate underground without getting lost. Dolan heads west into the hallway and then north, investigating the unexplored areas just north of their position, keeping an eye out for traps.

Dolan Human (Illuskan/Chondathan), Rogue "It's a privy, though it hasn't been used recently," Dolan says, leaving the room and closing the door behind him. The last time they had encountered a dwarven latrine, something had crawled out of it, so Dolan thought it best to leave well enough alone. Besides, he didn't like the idea of sticking his face down in the hole to see if there might be something that the orcs and goblins hadn't already stolen. He heads east down the hallway, glowstone and dagger in hand, keeping his eyes peeled for traps, and he takes the first hallway leading north, starting to suspect that Yohan's equipment might not be on this floor.

It seemed to summon its attack on Rodin magically, so Maximilian thinks it's a creature that isn't resistant to acid, and giving it a taste of its own medicine seems like a satisfying action to take. Dolan Human (Illuskan/Chondathan), Rogue Seeing the stairs leading downward, Dolan wishes that he had kept better track of the floors relative positions to each other, so that he might have some idea of where those stairs headed. There was one sure-fire way to tell, and since those stairs led down, he didn't think it would mean they would be heading into Direlord territory yet. There were still a few places left to quickly search on this floor, however, and Dolan heads west down the hallway to the door, checking it for traps and then opening it, attempting to unlock the door if necessary.

Dolan Human (Illuskan/Chondathan), Rogue Dolan takes a few moments to give a quick search of the sleeping blankets, wary for any hidden traps around them, then proceeds south to the end of the hallway, his eyes peeled for traps and the glowstone and dagger in his hands.

Dolan Human (Illuskan/Chondathan), Rogue Letting out a long sigh, Dolan left the small, dusty rooms and headed east down the hallway, then south when he got to the end of it. There was more ground to cover on this floor, and though Dolan now suspected that Yohan's armor might be upstairs with the Direlord tribe, he was at least going to make sure that they had checked as much as they could before returning to the dwarves or going upstairs.

Thanks gentlemen, now I'm back up to full health.

Dolan Human (Illuskan/Chondathan), Rogue Slowly recovering from the pain of the heavy rocks falling directly on him, Dolan feels a hand on his shoulder and a feeling of warm sunlight on his skin that seems to soothe the worst of the pain. Suspecting that he won't be heading up the stairs to face the Direlords for now, it narrows his list of priorities somewhat. "Thank you," he tells Yohan before straightening his armor and fixing his backpack squarely on his shoulders again. "I'd like to say that's the first trap I've set off here, but that's not even the first stone-drop trap I've been caught in," he says. Taking the remaining bruises in stride, Dolan moves north, glowstone and dagger once again in hand, and investigates the small rooms to the east and west.
