  1. Farm Boy HP: 10/13 || FP: 6/13 Conditions/Effects: Climbing! (reluctantly) Hank looks back to his old friend "Ya need me to come git ya, Em? We could really use yer magic in this."
  2. 3rd Level Wizard | AC 11/14 | HP: 14/17 | PP: 17 | Spell Slots: 1st: 4/3, 2nd: 2/1 | Insp: X | Languages: Common, Draconic | Conditions: Mage Armor Jonas breathes a sigh of relief as others step up to talk to the Gnome lady. I'd probably just say something wrong and she'd turn on her defenses again. He looks around for some other way to be useful. As the adrenalin rush of the fight fades, he is suddenly aware of Andir's weight leaning on his arm. He turns to see his sleeve slip with bright red blood. "Andir!" His friend gives him a weak smile. "Well, that was exciting, wasn't it?" oJonas eases Andir to a seat, then pulls off his backpack and roots around for his healer's kit. He keeps half an ear on the conversation between Kora, Bastion and the Gnome as he bandages first Andir, and then himself.
  3. Farm Boy HP: 10/13 || FP: 6/13 Conditions/Effects: Climbing! (reluctantly) Hank looks very uncomfortable leaving Harolde behind. "Nonsense. We can make it. Trust me." Not waiting for an objection, he hoists Harolde onto his back. "Just like unloading a wagon of hay bales, but with better conversation. You hang on tight - we'll be t'the other side in no time!" With a grunt, Hank sets off across the ledge, following Fili and Richard. Hank climbs.
  4. HP: 9/9 || FP: 12/12 || Conditions/Effects: Bless +1, Sense Observation (0), Create Servant (1) Kelvan nods to Quill. "Well, then, we will leave it to you to find us that alternate path on the way home." He makes to move on, then pauses. "Er, Good thinking." As far as mounts, I think we finally decided that since the sinkhole was on a farm that apparently still had folk occupying it, that they would be able to stable our horses and mule while we descended.
  5. HP: 9/9 || FP: 12/12 || Conditions/Effects: Bless +1, Sense Observation (0), Create Servant (1) Kelvan lowers his voice and leans in to the newest member of the team, the scout named Quill. "So, Red, you might at least make a note of this area. It might bear scouting ahead when we approach it after our subterranean exploration." He pauses. "Or if you wanted, you could slip back that way and see if there was something to see. My magicks definitely thought we were being observed." Kelvan keeps on walking.
  6. ST 13 | DX 14 | IQ 15 | HT 13 | Will 15 | Perception 17 FP 13/13 | HP 13/13 | DR xx | Base Speed 6 | Base Move 6 Jack looks to Manny and Andreas. "I think it'd be best if we don't all go on in. We'll keep Eukleides back for sure as cavalry. Who would you like with you? At least one of the engineers, I imagine?"
  7. HP: 9/9 || FP: 12/12 || Conditions/Effects: Bless +1, Sense Observation (0), Create Servant (1) Kelvan pinches the bridge of his nose. Of course they'd set up on the way to the sinkhole. Let's see if we can get through here without any fuss. He raises his voice, and makes as if he is continuing a chat he'd been having all along. "Now, Drezghl, back in my banditing days, of course, a spot like this would be ideal to set up an ambush." The half-Orc looks around, concerned. Kelvan waves a hand, languidly. "Oh, no no no, dear boy. Only a fool would attack a group heading to the sinkhole. They'd be well-rested, and not worth attacking. Like us, they would have little treasure, just shovels and digging tools. The smart bandit would wait to catch us on the way back. Tired, possibly wounded, and loaded down with riches. That's what a smart bandit would do." Kelvan keeps on walking. Kelvan is trying a Fast Talk roll.
  8. Farm Boy HP: 10/13 || FP: 6/13 Conditions/Effects: Jumping! Hank is already grabbing for the first hand holds. "C'mon, guys! It can't be that hard. All them chanters musta come this way, too." He sees Harolde and pauses. "Harolde, if you can hang on to me, I can try to get both of us across."
  9. Farm Boy HP: 10/13 || FP: 6/13 Conditions/Effects: Jumping! Hank looks up at Richard as he shakes his head. "Uff dah! What the heck was that?" He scrambles to his feet to make way for his friends as more folk start popping in out of the darkness. Re-readying his sword, he looks back at the crew. "Y'all ready? Let's go!"
  10. HP: 9/9 || FP: 12/12 || Conditions/Effects: Bless +1, Sense Observation (0), Create Servant (1) Kelvan gives the fellow a wide smile. "Wilmott, you say? Well met! I am called Kelvan, and in regards to the immediate plans of myself and my associates, well, sir, you have the right of it." And of course you want first pick of the rare or unusual. Well you can have it. After me, of course. He continues. "Identifier and purchaser? Well, that would be most convenient! We will keep our eyes out for such things with you in mind!" "Now, we really must be going. We're 'burning daylight!' as you surfacers say." Kelvan heads out the door.
  11. HP: 9/9 || FP: 12/12 || Conditions/Effects: Bless +1, Sense Observation (0), Create Servant (1) After recovering from his divination spell, Kelvan retreats to his room, returning dressed and ready for the sojourn to the Sinkhole. Behind him, standing quietly, is a young blonde Elf maid, shouldering Kelvan's backpack. He looks at his crew. "Well? Shall we be off?" OOC The Elf girl is a created servant. She will not respond to questions from anyone, but will look to Kelvan for instructions.
  12. Affirmative. Jack's heeding Manny's suggestion as well-reasoned and saying "Go ahead!"
  13. Hank Armstrong Farm Boy HP: 10/13 || FP: 6/13 Conditions/Effects: Jumping! Hank grins as he catches Fili. "I gotcha, girl!" At Harolde's cautionary pronouncement, the big guy nods. Looking into the hole, then at his friends, then back at the hole, he takes a deep breath. "Okey-dokey." Hank hunches over and sidesteps down into the dark hole.
  14. HP: 9/9 || FP: 3/12 || Conditions/Effects: Bless +1, Sense Observation (0) Kelvan chuckles, then looks up as he realizes that the conversation around him had wound to a halt. He taps one card, looking from comrade to comrade. "According to the cards, the biggest challenge we will face on this job is each other. The Nine of Webs, reversed. Trust, or the lack of it. Either one of us will betray the rest, or we will have to trust one another in the face of evidence to the contrary." He sighs. "Being who I am, I feel this is going to go poorly." Kelvan scoops up his cards. "Be that as it may, it sounds like several of you had thoughts on what we might need to prepare for this. Go do that, and we'll follow the good barman's excellent directions when you return."
  15. 3rd Level Wizard | AC 11/14 | HP: 14/17 | PP: 17 | Spell Slots: 1st: 4/3, 2nd: 2/1 | Insp: X | Languages: Common, Draconic | Conditions: Mage Armor From his vantage point on the ridge, Jonas gazes out at the battlefield. I can see everything from up here! As goblin arrows start flying he realizes And they can all see me! He ducks down as he feels a seering pain in his side and looks down to see a black arrow stuck in his side. His vision fuzzes for a moment, but then he hears Andir cry out. The other mage looks to have taken another serious wound. Jonas tightens his grip and a grim expression descends on his face. Pushing Andir behind him, Jonas stands up again, keen eyes picking out his targets. Force darts seemed to work well so far... Three more bolts of white magical energy leap from his wand. He calls out "Jaqui! Little help? There are a few left in the bushes at the base of the hill!" OOC Jonas fires another round of Magic Missiles. One more at #6, and two at the most hidden other one.
  16. Hank Armstrong Farm Boy HP: 10/13 || FP: 6/13 Conditions/Effects: Jumping! Hank looks at Fili. She gives him a look that seems to say "If you make the jump first, I'll try, too." That's good enough for the big guy. Eyeing the distance, the takes a deep breath, his mighty thews bunch, and then explode! He flies through the air to the mouth of the druid stone structure. He looks back and waves to Fili. Hank takes two seconds to concentrate and then jumps 11 feet over the snakes.
  17. HP: 9/9 || FP: 12/12 || Conditions/Effects: Bless +1, Sense Observation (0) Kelvan takes out a deck of ornate cards and starts playing something that looks like it might be solitaire as he listens to the barkeep. "So, tell us more about what is in this sinkhole. There is talk of gems and such. Who has seen these valuables? I would speak with them." While Kelvan talks, he is laying out a tarot spread to give insights into the question "What unpleasant surprises lie in wait for us in this sinkhole?" His Divination skill is 16, +1 for his Bless.
  18. Hank Armstrong Farm Boy HP: 10/13 || FP: 6/13 Conditions/Effects: Charging! Hank nods and lays a big hand on the door. He slowly turns the nob, making sure that he can throw it open when the time is right. He looks back to Fili and the rest. Wait! Where's Richard? The big lug's eyes widen in concern. Calm down, big fellah. Richard's got his tiefling tricks to fight with. Rest assured he has a plan... Getting a grip, Hank focuses again on the moment. He wrenches the door open, making way for Fili. As soon as she is clear, he follows.
  19. ST 13 | DX 14 | IQ 15 | HT 13 | Will 15 | Perception 17 FP 13/13 | HP 13/13 | DR xx | Base Speed 6 | Base Move 6 Jack strokes his mustache, and, if Manny had to guess, was doing it to hide a smile. "I like your logic, Puno. I was thinking that the smaller group would be easier to handle if things went south, but your way sounds a lot friendlier." "As for our 'story,' I'll leave that to you talky folk. Come up with something and I'll back your play."
  20. HP: 9/9 || FP: 12/12 || Conditions/Effects: Bless +1, Sense Observation (0) Kelvan takes a sip of his tea, then a long drag on his cigarette. He exhales before answering, a cloud of smoke hovering above the table. "Currrently, about half a dozen. A small band, suitable for more ... tactical ... operations. Some excellent muscle, a new healer, and me. Apparently you heard that we returned from our foray into the Dreadwood without our scout." He listens with a patient smile as the young Elf goes on about expectations and religion and morality and such. In on the planning and concerned about 'rough stuff', eh? Don't worry then, I won't share that part of business with you. He shakes his head in mock concern. "Of course, of course, I understand completely. " He looks wistful for a brief moment. Ereh wouldn't have questioned such a request. I may start missing him after all. "Assuming things go smoothly, a fair share seems reasonable. I have seen you in action before." A small quirk of the lip, could that have been a leer? Gone in a blink, and he's on to the next thing. "Group, this is Quill. I think we have our scout. Now, to the Sinkhole." He frowns at Hinami's question. "I have heard that the valuables are just lying about. I have an adequate eye for value - I will try to make sure we don't bring along anything worthless." He turns to let the bartender answer the ronin's question.
  21. HP: 9/9 || FP: 12/12 || Conditions/Effects: Bless +1, Sense Observation (0) Kelvan sighs. He realizes he has some business to attend to. "One moment, Drezghl." He clears his throat. "Sister Maria? A word?." He waves the young beauty over. "So, I am curious. Now that you have had a taste at what our days are like, I must ask - are you still interested? Really, I completely understand if you wish to step away. It is not the life for everybody." When Quill makes their entrance, he gives a warm smile. "'Red'? It has been a while. I see that news travels quickly in these small burgs. Yes, yes we do need a new scout." He eyes Quill's uniform with a raised eyebrow. "Are you available?"
  22. Hank Armstrong Farm Boy HP: 10/13 || FP: 6/13 Conditions/Effects: Charging! Hank grins. Just like tipping cows back in Grey Rock! He claps the fellow on the back. "Well now, Geran. You just keep yer head down while me 'n my friends pass by, then get yer ass outta here the other way." His hand still on Geran's back, he pushes himself back to his feet and looks back to his friends with a smile. "Geran here isn't gonna be a problem no more. Let's keep moving. I imagine things are gonna get interestin' the other side of that door." Hank quietly approaches the door at the end of the hall. Hank Stealths to the end of the hall.
  23. 3rd Level Wizard | AC 11/14 | HP: 17/17 | PP: 17 | Spell Slots: 1st: 4/2, 2nd: 2/1 | Insp: X | Languages: Common, Draconic | Conditions: Mage Armor Jonas nods in sympathy as Andir wields magic to take a life for the first time. The young man was a gentle soul. But this new face for Krynn could change that. Jonas hopes that is not the case. No sooner does he think that than Andir takes a hit! Jonas' attention splits as he tries to survey the battlefield, but his worried eyes keep returning to his friend. He moves to his friend's side, yelling over the sounds of the fight. "Andir! Stick close!" He grabs Andir by one arm, still wielding his war wand with the other. As he moves forward, he can see some of the goblins charging what must be the workshop. Those should probably be my first priority. From the high ground, he sees more taking cover in the shrubs at the base of the hill. Hopefully, Bastion and Heather could see them too. One had tucked himself into a thick bush, barely visible. Okay, I guess you're mine, too! Arcanum Telum! Three glowing darts of magical force spring from his wand. One shoots unerringly at the sorely wounded goblin nearest Jonas, while two others disappear into the bushes. OOC Jonas moves to Andir's side, then leads them both forward, more slowly, to Q9. Jonas fires Magic Missile. One dart goes to Goblin #1, and the other two target the goblin most difficult to see, since Magic Missile doesn't require a to-hit roll that might suffer from disadvantage.
  24. Hank Armstrong Farm Boy HP: 10/13 || FP: 6/13 Conditions/Effects: Charging! Seeing the fleeing man, Hank throws caution to the wind, lowers one broad shoulder, and charges, slamming into the fellow's back, trying to knock him to the ground. Ah ah ah! No lettin' the whole church know we're a'comin' just yet! Hank performs a Move and Attack followed by a Slam against the fleeing fellow. He is faster (Move 7) and quite familiar with this kind of brawling. (Not sure how to calculate damage. Relative velocity was 2 (I was moving 7 while he was moving 5) but the only time that gets mentioned is when it's head-on, and they add. So either 1d6-2 (if relative) or 1d6-1 (if absolute). Hank is using Mighty Blow to add +2 to the damage he does, in hopes of knocking the fellow down.
  25. HP: 9/9 || FP: 6/12 || Conditions/Effects: Bless +1, Sense Observation (0) Kelvan looks at Drezghl over his morning coffee. He waves a hand at the table. "A traditional peasant breakfast. Three meats, porridge, and coffee. Not a bad way to start the day." At Drezghl's question about Lera, Kelvan cracks a sly smile. "I'm afraid that Lera has chosen to move on without us. Rest assured, we parted on *ahem* good terms."
