  1. The figure looks as if he is trying to squeeze himself further into the corner he is in. He lets out a little yelp as Ozemur speaks to him. Slowly, he turns his head, peeking out of the corner of his eye. He has the face of a Southlander, though it is covered with blood and grime. He reaches out defensively with his left arm, revealing a nasty, bloody stump where his left hand used to be. He utters a string of words in the Southlander language, still quivering and shaking. His words, at first are clearly spoken in fear, but the last things he says have a more questioning tone to them. When he finishes speaking, his eyes change from a look of terror to one of confusion. OOC Another burial mound chamber. This one has an exit on the far side and someone is cowering where the purple dot is. After moving through the strange, unsettling archway, everyone takes a moment to gather their feet again. Looking around, the tunnel feels different, older, somehow. The stones in the wall are ancient, crumbling bricks. Faint outlines of symbols and carvings can barely be detected on their surfaces, but due to time, no real details can be deciphered. The chanting is louder now, coming from up ahead. Continuing on, the group comes across a wide pit blocking further passage. The gap in the floor is easily 12 feet across. A deep darkness rests in its depths, and even with Emily's magical light, a bottom cannot be seen. The passage continues on the other side of the pit and along the walls on either side are numerous depressions and handholds, implying one could climb along to ther other side. Dhiir estimates no more than a two hour walk. He goes over his directions again, to make sure everyone knows how to get there just fine. As everyone is gathering in the road outside of the Broken Oak, a well dressed Suel man, someone who has been seen hanging out in the common room of the Inn recently, steps up and introduces himself with a formal bow. "Good morn, to you, my fine friends. My name is Wilmott, I hail from the more northern reaches of mighty Keoland. I apologize, but I have been unable to avoid overhearing your recent plans to delve into the sinkhole. Quite interesting, quite," he says, hmmm-ing to himself. "While I am not one to do such delvings, I am one that is occasionally interested in things found in such places. Of course gems and treasure are nice, but I am not interested in those things. I am interested in more, shall we say, interesting finds. If you come across anything that fits this bill, I would like to render my services as an identifier, consigner, or purchaser of such things." Getting some confused looks from some of the group, he speaks more plainly. "If you find anything interesting or unique, please bring it to me. I have been know to pay top coin for such things," he says with a smile. Hank, quite uneasy from the strange sensation of passing through the arcway, slumps to the floor, his legs having given out beneath him. Richard stands, holding what looks like a lit match, faintly illuminating the continuing stairway. Suddenly, Emily bursts into view, her glowing stone lighting the way forward, though the way back is mysteriously dark. A moment later, Fili, Harolde, and Alvan emerge from the strange magical darkness behind. Almost immediately, Alvan stumbles and drops down hard on one knee. OOC Everyone else that has now passed the arch, please make a Body Sense roll. this defaults to DX-6 or Acrobatics-3 Due to Alvan loosing his footing, Harolde is at an additional -1....   7. Immediately upon entering this chamber, Yngvildr sees two things of interest. First, across the room, another tunnel leads out, angling down and away from the burial chamber. Second, crouched in a ball, a figure huddles against the far wall, pressed up against the wall and one of the hull beams that support the ceiling in the chamber. The figure shakes and shivers, as if it were very cold or scared. As the group makes their way into the chamber, Ozemur's torch sputters and crackles a bit. OOC Another burial mound chamber.   8. Yes. I absolutely see this aspect of the module not being the best for PbP. It went much quicker in the live game play.

  10. : The road to Artonbruek, south of Rookroost, Bandit Kingdoms : Earthday, Sixth of (festival week) Time: around noon Weather: Cold, 53°, cloudy skies and mild wind from the south Sunrise/set: just after 6am/ just before 6:30pm Character Present: Arwi, Finn, Kelarith, Nessia, Rindo, Snowbelle The next hour and a half are uneventful, then finally, Artonsamay River is spotted. It is known to be one of the longest rivers on Oerth. Following the line of the road ahead, everyone sees the small settlement known as Artonsbrueck, or Peiper's Ferry. It appears that the settlement consists of one small, walled compound encircling four stone buildings. The compound sits on a rise about 25 feet above the river, which has several rafts pulled up on the muddy shore. short, wide docks are built onto each river bank, the far side dock looks to be a little but upstream from this sides. A few small buildings, more sheds than anything else, can be see on the far side of the river, about 50' away. A couple of boats can be seen on the water, one a ways upstream buy a quarter mile or so, and another about a quarter mile downstream of the ferry, both traveling downstream, the easy but steady current pushing them. Not much detail can be gotten from this distance, but there is smoke lazily drifting out of several visible chimneys. The stout wooden gate of the compound is closed tightly. All the brush and trees between the compound and the river has been cleared and kept clear, though there does appear to be a small apple orchard out behind the buildings with a lone, ancient oak tree beyond. Trees and brush line the river on both sides away from the ferry area, though it is clearly a well maintained river crossing. OOC You're probably 1/8 of a mile from the ferry. No sign of any people yet, they are probably behind the walls. Definitely does not look like it's been attacked.   11. Sorry I've been offline most of the previous week, just busy, I am still here and ready to continue playing!

Hank heads down into the dark and narrow entry to the druid's altar. Almost immediately, he realizes that he is following behind Richard, who is apparently visible again. The rest of the group follows into the out of place stone structure. Stairs lead downward, curving to the left and then the right, fairly steeply. Alvan helps Harolde as much as he can, but the Cleric of Fharlanghn is just not able to keep up with the rest of the group. After a couple of minutes of climbing down the stairs, Richard and Hank pass through a narrow stone archway... OOC Oh no, the group has somehow been split again!   13. and just to be clear, there is another room ahead, though nothing in it has been seen yet since it has not been approached, Yngilvidr can just see up into the room from the tunnel that is at a lower elevation. Someone one will have to actually go up into the room to see what is there and to see if there are any other ways out of the room. the 2 figures did come this way and could have very well continued on into parts of the room that cannot currently be seen or moved on beyond through exits from the room that are also not yet seen. it is by no way a confirmed dead end or empty room yet...
