  1. I should be able to get the round processed this afternoon. I'll bot for this round (unless she posts first) and we'll keep rolling.
  2. "They left pieces of themselves everywhere" This one made me laugh
  3. Pym evaluated the enlarging spell being cast. (Pym gets a +2 to both checks due to his spell duel prodigy trait.) Whether or not the check works, Pym rolled the aqueous orb into the space between the cleric and himself. i can’t help but notice the spider cages seem to be a good size. Do you think we could fit the orb into one of them? Pym asked. (Spellcraft) (Dispel check) (1d20+20)
  4. This is the arcane exploit I want Pym to use: it is an immediate action. Also, my across the street neighbors have sold their house. If, by some random chance, you're moving into that one, let me know. I can carry some boxes and we can set up a regular tabletop RP night.
  5. can Pym attempt to counterspell the enlarge person effect?
  6. I already gave my final offer. Chappie answered as he shook his head "no". Just leave the notes and go. And I don't want to see you around my lab again without Maria here. If I do, I will assume you're stealing from me and there will be consequences. Go. Chappie waited while the young elf left. He walked behind the elf and watched him to make sure he left. The rogue made a mental note to talk to Maria about Shireen's erroneous assumptions. Speaking of which . . . where is everyone? He had lost his appetite for crafting for the day. He waited a sufficient amount of time to make sure the boy didn't try to sneak back, then Chappie locked up and went out to both go shopping for the items he wouldn't be making and figure where the heck everyone else was.
  7. (reflex 1 vs grease) (reflex 2 vs grease) Tann's spell is timely. Both of the non-trapped Zombies fall quickly and land stiffly. The third zombie continues to scream in frustration at the fact that it can't munch on the shiftless Shefton, but Calyx steps forward. His foot makes a gentle splash in the water coming from the rubble on the southern wall, which is followed by a quick slash of his dagger which ends the screaming. The zombie falls silent gratefully and drops to the floor. El Cid gives a long low hoot toward Calyx/ Shefton's blood is running across the floor and beneath Calyx's feet and starting to mix with the water. The fallen zombie "leader" is an easy target for both Seraphina and Urthan's devastating attacks. However the mysterious grey energy once again interferes. It completely blunts Seraphina's attack. The zombie chuckles at this success, but Urthan's attack falls on its back. However although it is the same attack that clove the monstrous spider in twain on the Blue Nixie this time the grey energy blunts the attack. It leaves a long slash, but still the zombie remains mobile. It tries to rise again filled with spite. The second zombie rolls over to Shefton's body and resumes eating. Iridni's crossbow shot hits the distracted monster, but the bolt just sticks out of the flesh of the zombie and it keeps eating, not even noticing its new feathery decoration. It is now the party's turn. @Ryfte if you want to play, feel free to jump in this round. any one who wants to do a Knowledge Religion check on zombie 1 may do so against a DC 13. Also, now that I posted the map I noticed that I forgot to add Seraphina. She is in the same spot as before. Sorry
  8. Sorry this post has taken so long. I just haven't had enough time to move everyone around on the next map. I'll have it done today.
  9. It worked out better than I hoped it would. Depending on how the Reflex saves go the next couple rounds, Pym will roll them over beside the wall of ice and let them chill for a while.
  10. Pym landed on the ground. As much as he had enjoyed it, his time being invisible was up. He brought his forearms in front of himself as if swirling a globe. An orb of water 10 feet in diameter appeared immediately north of the wizard. Pym swept the water to the south to engulf the wizard and cleric then sharply to the west to catch the remaining spell caster. Crunch cast Aqueous Orb - Pym is going to use a 1 pt from his arcane reservoir to raise the DC by 2. He also gets a +1 DC bonus from his racial ability to spells with the water descriptor. No Spell Resistance, Reflex Save DC 21 to avoid 2d6 nonlethal damage. If they fail the save they need to make another DC 21 Reflex save to avoid being engulfed by the orb. A 10 foot orb directly north of the wizard. South 3 squares to catch the Wizard and Cleric2 (15 feet movement) then West 3 squares (15 feet movement) to catch Cleric1
  11. I am going to go ahead and post the next round.
  12. From high above, Pym mentally directed his illusionary elk through the cloud of mist and toward the guards battling Alfren. He made a beeline north, trying to get to the wizard and clerics as quickly as possible. Pym would only elevate enough to get over the fog cloud. He doesn't want to make his form visible by flying through the fog.
  13. I was contacted by . Their recovery seems to be going well, so they have asked to come back. I told them to just go ahead jump in when they are ready.
  14. Urfthan heads west. With a mighty swing, he strikes the zombie. However some dark, lead colored force writhes from the zombie's body. It pushes back against the gladiator's blade and dulls the blow. Uuuuggggh . . . . the zombie moans in response to the strike. It pulls its attention from the writhing Shefton towards Urthan. Somehow this odd dark magic has protected it. Seraphina's magic does its work. Shefton's bruise disappears. thankyouthankyouthankyou he says as he recovers. He looks to make his escape. While Tann's focus is "rewarded" with another direct strike on the zombie and its accompanying scent of rotten flesh being burned. She has burned deeply enough through the zombie that she can see the bones of its neck glowing through the flesh, but the zombie's skeleton is intact. The dark magic that powers it is sufficient to keep it mobile and trying to feed on Shefton. Just in time, another Calyx appears. Upon the triggering of this divine blessing and at the elf's urging, Shefton attempts to roll away from his attackers. Unfortunately, he accidentally bumps into Calyx's sword arm tossing the otherwise well-aimed slash off its target. His awkward attempt to leave draws further attention from the two desperately hungry zombies. (zombie 2 AoO) The second zombie's bite locks into Shefton's back. thank . . . you . . . The third zombie follows with a bite on his neck. thnnkkkk . . . Shefton gurgles and the light goes out from his eyes. The second zombie takes a step forward to fall on the half elf trying desperately to feed. (zombie 3 AoO) Iridni's magic shadows snap tight around foot of the third zombie locking it in place. It screams in frustration seeing its comrade feed on the hot, fresh corpse lying on the cold, dungeon floor (Will Save vs Shadow Trap) (zombie 2 AoO dmg) (zombie 3 AoO dmg) The zombie facing Uthan reaches out. Its hand surrounded by the dull grey energy. (touch attack vs Urthan) He contacts the warrior and Urthan begins bleeding profusely from his nose, ears, eyes and potentially other openings. (bleed damage) It is now the parties turn, in whatever order they post.
  15. The young man's exorbitant demands seemed a little less entertaining as time wore on, but Chappie did his best to maintain his smile. I wouldn't say you'd have nothing to show for it. You get to redeem yourself for attempting to steal from me. Further , you get the opportunity to prove you can be an assistant, which means you'll be an associate instead of an enemy. I think that associate status would be very valuable to you when compared to the other option. The going rate for an assistant is 1 silver a day. Working 5 days a week for 2 weeks means you'd get 1 gold piece at the end of it if I was paying you. A tanglefoot bag is usually about 50 gold pieces. What you're asking for is 50 times more than the going rate. You apparently think I'm smart enough that you need to copy my notes, but dumb enough that you can con me. Just to be clear, since elves don't always understand human nuances, I find that rather insulting. Chappie began to have doubts about trusting this elf as an assistant. He let his words sink in for a little bit, and continued. The young elf was obviously looking for a better offer. Chappie didn't blame the boy, but felt like he needed to be clear that he wouldn't tolerate being stolen from. You couldn't be soft on the streets of Korvosa. So here's my final offer. You can work for me for 1 week, for free, to make up for stealing from me. If you do a good job and prove you can do what I need effectively, I will hire you as an assistant starting at the rate of 1 silver piece a day. If we get to the end of the week and either you don't want to continue working for me or I don't want to hire you, we'll go our separate ways and call the slate clean. If you don't want that offer, leave the notes you took on the table and go. I'll make sure Shireen and the rest of my friends know what you've done and you won't be welcome back here.
  16. Pym watched Alfren's battle. The man had proven himself a capable combatant more than once and Pym had every confidence that assistance owuld not be required in defeating the foe. Pym prepared himself to cast an offensive spell once the enemy spellcasters broke through the fog.
  17. We could. I think that on his next turn, Pym is going to get some elevation, wait for them to break through the fog, and then make his move.
  18. Due to the crowd control in place this isn't a target rich environment at the moment. I'm halfway inclined to take a strategic pause. One of the worst enemies of buff spells is "duration". If we could just back off for a few minutes and then rejoin the attack, the buffs they've cast should be worn off and the spell slots they used to cast them will still be burnt. Once they break through the fog, Pym will try to suss out what they actually cast. @kylia quilor Do invisible people cast a shadow?
  19. I was able to revise the round 2 post, but I am out of time to process the round 3 post. I will get that posted tomorrow afternoon.
  20. I went back and checked. The answer is "yes" It was done in a post before the initiative roll, so I didn't look that far back when determining what was going on in the round. I have readjusted. He was missed in the first round, so that had no impact. The big change is that distance meant the second and third zombies were not able to attack, only to move forward. Subsequently, the second attack I rolled for on round 2 didn't land, and Shefton lives for at least another 6 seconds. Well done. Sorry for the oversight
