  1. Ripley's grin widens. "Right. First, then. Do any of ye have any medical experience?" He does not yet know of the otter's death. The mention of the printery arouses his interest as well though. His head tilts to the side. "What be at the printery?"
  2. Terrabit ducks just a little too slowly and feels the bullet strike his armor. That'll bruise, but it did its job and stopped it from taking him out. Still, he remains focused. "Alright, Byte. Focus. Take a breath, hold it, and then..." He fires at Inca again.
  3. Terrabit is pleased with the shot. Best to keep the big guns 'honest' so to speak. He levels his rifle at her again. This thing is nonlethal. More of a souped-up taser. She should be fiiiiiiiine.
  4. Ripley blinks once. Then he realizes that these are, in fact, the same wolves as attacked him in the forest. That little detail had slipped his notice. Gods of wind and sky, he was tired. But he cannot afford to show weakness. Instead, he flashes them an evil grin. "Aye," he says in a calm voice, but one that dances upon the edge of a knife, "An' I gave him fair warnin' too. An' a chance t' back down. An' a chance t' join me instead. But nay. He decided that it would be more 'fun' t' fight a wounded fox. But that was his last mistake." He spreads his arms wide, gesturing to the city around them, though he keeps one hand on the haft of his weapon. "Look around ye! Hear th' chaos? Th' confusion? Th' panic? Hmm? Drink it in, mates. Get a good fill. The cats tried t' stop me too. An' now Captain Viscount Cattenberg lies dead by me own paw." He laughs madly. "Ye see mates, those who get in me way have a nasty habit o' winding up dead. So, decision time." He slams the butt of his polearm into the ground for emphasis. "Do ye wish t' get in me way? Again? And see how many more o' ye wind up dead? Or, do ye want t' get behind me..." He reaches into his pocket and pulls out a key. "An' see where this fancy little key I looted off o' the Viscount goes?"
  5. HA! Okay, that reaction had me smiling. Also, the semester is now officially over! Huzzah and hurrah! Last grades were entered and after a day or so to recover I am feeling a bit more like my old self again.
  6. But what if Ripley wants to make a new pirate alliance?
  7. "Subtle" and "diplomatic" are words that can be used to describe Ripley. Inaccurately, but still.
  8. "Are we the baddies?" Anyway, yes. We have done some good and a lot of bad. And yes, I should clear Ripley's track.
  9. At this point, I do think we need to move towards regrouping. IC, Ripley does not know anything about the bank or the letter, though, so someone will have to tell him about that.
  10. "Nay," Ripley says glumly, "Well, yes and no. It has been..." He stretches a bit and groans, working out the kink in his back where mere luck prevented him from being stabbed. Again. "...fiery."
  11. Well, a sawn-off shotgun likely isn't hackable, though depending on the method used to saw it off, it might already have been 'hacked' in a different sense. Still, the breach affords some cover, and Terrabit intends to make use of it. He crouches down, unslings his rifle, and joins the fray. He figures firing a few shots at the target will make her rethink her plan and duck for cover. 'Keeping them honest', he had heard it called.
  12. I will admit I don't mind the -1 rep myself. This, uh, this was entirely Ripley's fault, and it should have some narrative consequences.
  13. Oooh. Ruin exploring! Now that does sound fun. As far as Ripley being a captain, well, I assume that either the crew will be doing something else or he'll order them as a unit. Also, they will probably betray us. The mongooses, though? I hope we can keep them alive.
  14. He, uh, did have a family. And Ripley met them. This was supposed to be a quick and simple demonstration! Ripley's recklessness, uh, got their husband/father killed. They are...not going to like him. In fact, Ripley is...not going to face them if he can help it. This got wildly out of paw...
