  1. I also support Schrodinger's doors that open whichever way the DM says when he says it. If he changes his mind he was just correcting an earlier error.

"Let's kill these rats! I'll try to help from the back row with my sling. If one of you in front needs to fall back I'll pick up my trident and fill in the front." OCC I forget about ranged penalties to firing sling into melee if there are any in this system. Plan is to hang back firing sling beyond the front row of fighters. Ideally at rats still in the row but I'll let Cailano decide what is possible here. If the sling is useless and he can't get a shot off he'll pick up the trident and wait to be needed.
  3. Tell the 11 giant rats that! I get the feeling that the strength check is to help reinforce the door against the battering of the rats.
  4. I know it might get harder for you but I am for player agency. So if I player posts that their character is doing something than that is what their character is doing rather than wait for a party leader to say what the party is as a whole doing. For instance Sellsword mentioned that Dougal was going down the hall with someone with light. I posted that Thomas was checking that first door on the South wall for traps and also listening there for any noises. I agree that trying to gain a consensus of party members about which direction to go is not going to work. I would just encourage people to feel unfettered in their posting. I will back anyone else's opening any door. Maybe this strategy wouldn't work for PbP long term I don't know. If not then all good with a leader making decisions. Makes sense that this would be someone if the front row.

He carefully inspects the door, it's hinges and the frame for any mechanical contraptions or other possible traps. Once convinced that it's safe to do so he presses his ear close to the door listening for any sounds that he might detect behind it. He motions for the rest of the company to be quiet.

  8. I don't think we advanced out of the landing room yet except possibly Dougal? We still need Cyrus to come down the ropes. We all mentioned in character the need to stick together so I think we are waiting on that. You good with Allen taking up rank 2 opposite Thomas? I tinkered with Marching order a little due to light sources all being on the left side of the marching order. Figured we could split that up. I think this works with Tharnakalian being rear guard. FYI we have three light sources currently two lanterns and a torch. I assume that Serpe is going to start making a map for us all.

He calls up to those above. "It is clear down here." He climbs up the rope he climbed down to tie his own rope to Dougal's to allow two people to descend at once.

When others in his party dropped a torch down Thomas looked around for signs of footprints that belonged to those who left the tracks above. Concerned about the amount of light that he would be giving off he lights a candle off the torch and then places it on the ground as a guidance for Dougal. Thomas with candle searches the room he landed in for signs of previous passing.

Thinking to himself about the odds of Allen locating something in the room obviously gone over at least once if not twice by other people. They noticed this mound had been broken into days ago but the footprints above seemed to indicate a more recent treading of others. Not knowing what he was going to find at the end of this rope Thomas continued to lower himself into the unknown.
