You know, I expected the Carib League to be unsubtle. I wasn't expecting ... this. Outwardly, her face remains calm, even as she puts in an order for both her and Pup to be delivered to the table with the Johnson. Llorona sends a feeling of affirmation down the link to Pup. I don't think that'll be necessary, docinho. But yes, this is the one we're waiting for. If you have anything to say, let me know, and I'll relay it for you as best I can. The dryad figured she could act as a safety net for the little one, at least for now. Once the crew was all seated, she looked at the man who could only be Mr. Johnson, expectant.

She also notes that Pup makes a connection with Blockade, and not Legion, grimacing a bit as the fox shifter brought up Blockade's son. They'd need to have a talk about boundaries ... and there's the puppy eyes, she thought with a wry smile. He's doomed. She couldn't fault Pup's eagerness, given she hadn't had many companions the dryad knew about, beyond Llorona herself and the spirits the fox played with. Llorona sent a thought to Pup alone. "Pup, is something wrong with Legion? You didn't link with him..." She didn't sense any worry from Pup through the link, but the dryad wanted to be sure there weren't going to be any surprises. She looked between Blockade - muscle - and Legion - rigger - as her attention returned to the conversation, the gears in her mind already turning on how to make the would-be team work. "Pup's awakened, as you might expect. Spells, mostly illusion stuff, and spirits." Llorona quashed the apprehension at that last word down before it could show, her outward demeanor remaining professional. "As for me, well ... I bring hand-to-hand combat expertise, marksmanship, a pretty face, and a decently polished silver tongue." Llorona chuckles. "The latter's probably not enough to get someone to give up their Just4Fans account password, but it should be enough to get someone to look the other way more often than not." She turns to Blockade. "And to answer your question, Blockade, despite the ink, I'm not an adept. Entirely mundane."

Llorona looks at the message from the client, before glancing back at the two, an ork and a troll. Seems like this is the rest of the team. "Pup, I think we can trust them for now. We're going to head to that place that smells of food. If you could drop the illusion, please?" The punk's cropped hair gives way to long, almost waist length black tresses, while her features morph from a Caucasian human to a Latina elf, who stands about six and a half feet tall. Green tattoos peek out from the arms of her jacket sleeves, while one in particular is displayed prominently across her chest. As the dyrad moves, there's a hint of bulk beneath the jacket, suggesting a holster of some sort. She has a winning smile on her face as she speaks to the two, with a slight Amazonian lilt to her otherwise fluent English. "Apologies for the smoke and mirrors, but better to be cautious, right?" Once seated at the table, dryad snorts at the Ork's question. "I'm Llorona, and this ..." She gestures over to the oddly-colored fox. "... is Pup." Llorona takes in the Blockade's obvious armament, as well as the biker leathers and motorcycle helmet of Legion. "Seeing as we're presumably going to be working together, I feel like it would be good know what we all bring to the table." Not much subtlety here, though given it's Miami, that might be a plus. Ugh ... that's going to take some getting used to. She raises her scarred eyebrow. "I think I've got a pretty good idea but well ... I've been surprised before."
  4. So, with magic you have two different pools of dice. The first is the pool with which you actually cast the spell (via declaring force, etc etc). That's derived from your skill with Spellcasting, and your Magic attribute. In this case, iirc, Pup has a magic of 7 and a skill rating of 6, with spec for Illusion spells, for a total casting pool of 15. Once it's cast, she then has to roll for spell drain, aka the "headache" mentioned in an earlier post when she tried and failed to summon a beast spirit the first time. This pool is derived from the caster's "tradition" aka the lens through which they focus their power. Pup's tradition of "Red Magic", centered around beast spirits, uses Intuition + Willpower as that pool. In both cases, the 1:4 ratio of bought hits to dice in the pool would leave both pools with 3 hits total.

"Nah, just ... 'professional skepticism' is the best way to put it. You're getting better at these illusions. Well done!" A small mote of pride resonated down the mindlink. She'd gotten used to how Pup weaved her spells, after a bit of initial apprehension. Llorona had a ... spotty history with magic, summoned spirits especially, but she wasn't about to let her baggage stunt her charge's growth. "Go ahead and take a look around in the Astral, just like we practiced. I'll be here with your body." With that, Llorona settled in to protect Pup's physical form, her eyes scanning the surrounding area while her hands rested close to her Savalette Guardian and combat knife, both ready to be drawn at a moment's notice. OOC Not able to access my sheet at the moment, need to tally a few modifiers and the like, but Llorona is doing meatspace visual Perception.

The dryad's astral imprint was almost as dull as the metal of the weapon she'd recently held, except for a few tendrils of greenish light that intertwined through the grey, like vines through concrete. The light tendrils began to lose their green glow, looking for all the world like they were sickly and withering. They usually only did that when Isadora couldn't sleep at night, when she woke up with a cold sweat and heavy breathing, with the scent of panic, fear, and rage pungent around her. She usually dismissed it as bad dreams to Pup. Fortunately, those things had happened less frequently ever since Pup had taken up residence with her. As the fox shifter licked the dryad's chin, however, the light of the tendrils came surging back, as Isadora laughed and scratched Pup on the back of the head, smiling. "I'm fine, docinho. Just thinking about some things." Things you'll never have to worry about, not if I can help it, she carefully didn't say, or project through the mental link. "Let me get my things ready, and I'll get you a treat before we head out, yeah? Speaking of which, we need to get you a commlink, and more importantly teach you how to use it..." A few hours and a favorite treat later, a black and gold Suzuki Mirage carrying an elf-looking Latina woman and a canine form approaches the dock location specified in the message. They arrive a few minutes early, stopping a bit away to get a better view of the place.

The dryad didn't begrudge Pup her curiosity, but she still had a long way to go before Isadora was willing to trust her around metahuman weapons. Besides, Pup had her own strengths to cultivate. Her expression softened as she reached over to pat Pup on the head. "Nothing's wrong, docinho. It's just that ... remember what I told you about 'shadowrunning'? About the jobs that people like me - people like us - do for a living, jobs like the one that freed you? Well, I just got a message that might lead to one." The dryad hesitated for a moment. Protectiveness for her charge warred with her desire to let Pup learn on her own, before the latter won out. "Do you want to come with me? It would be good experience, but ... it might be dangerous." She didn't want Pup's first experience of a Johnson meet to be one that went south ... but Pup needed to learn about the world of shadows she was immersed in, for better or worse. The fox shifter was smart in her own way, she'd learn quick enough how to support herself eventually. And Pup being on her own wasn't a matter of if, but when. Isadora knew she wouldn't always be around. She never thought her survival was a guarantee, not after Bogota, not after she woke up on that Azzie operating table when she should have been dead, and most certainly not after the Pit. She'd been living on borrowed time ever since the Battle of Bogota, one stumbling step ahead of death ... and one day, El Cadejo would find her scent, whether she was ready or not. Dismissing the dark thoughts from her mind, and hoping Pup hadn't picked up on it, Isadora ran the cloth in her hand down the sword blade one last time, cleaning off the excess oil before sheathing the blade. She smiled at the fox shifter as she turned, waiting for a response. OOC Gotcha! Liking the dynamic they have so far, look forward to seeing how it progresses lol.

Three pistols, a Savalette Guardian, an Ares Light Fire 70, and a Terracotta Arms Pup (no relation), lay lined up in a neat row on a coffee table, alongside their respective magazines, unloaded and ready for cleaning. Beside them, several knives of varying lengths and design lay sheathed on the table, as well as the sheath of a sword. The sword itself, meanwhile, was in Isadora's hands, as she carefully ran a cleaning rag over the blade. She usually did her maintenance when Pup was out on her Astral jaunts. Less chances of the curious little one trying to snack on something that wouldn't agree with her. The ammunition and other, more dangerous items in Llorona's arsenal were locked away safely out of reach, especially the Blight rounds for her heavy pistol. Isadora glanced over at Pup's prone form, the fox shifter's breathing even and steady. She smirked, and shook her head. I still don't get why Adam wanted me to take her in. Could have found her an actual mojo-slinger, someone that could teach her, instead of someone as fragged up as me. She barely understood a thing about magic. But between her fixer's insistence that Isadora take her in, and what she'd been told of Pup's experience with the Azzies - the dryad's lip curled into a slight snarl just at the thought - Isadora couldn't help but come to care for the young fox shifter. A message from her commlink stirred her from her thoughts, as her hands paused while passing the cloth over the sword one last time. Hmm, need to get Pup a commlink at some point, if she's gonna be out on her own. Isadora added that to a to-do list, then pulled up the message through her DNI connection. Her scarred eyebrow quirked up as she read the message. While she'd certainly been looking for work, especially now that she had another mouth to feed, the runner known as Llorona couldn't help but feel a tad suspicious, both at the language used, and the fact that someone was reaching out for a job. It had been quite the culture shock to learn how the shadows in the Carib League worked, especially after Seattle. Still, the reward was worth looking into, even if it was split a few ways. Isadora reached out mentally, still somewhat unfamiliar with the astral link that Pup had set up with her. "Pup, docinho, can you hear me?" She thought, using the Amazonian term of endearment out of habit.

  10. This actually brings up a good point. Would an ally summoning a spirit cause a Flashback roll, or could I potentially argue for the trigger to only be an OPFOR mage, given the cause (specifically, an Aztechology mage summoning a spirit that broke her squad during the Battle of Bogota)?
  11. I'm kinda interested, but also don't think Llorona would be a good fit, just because she's not Awakened. But it could be interesting, especially with the Aztechnology connection lol.
  12. Gotcha. Apologies for the deletion of the edit but I played around with it for a bit and realized it didn't get me what I wanted skills wise. So this should be the finalized build. Again, I apologize for any confusion.
  13. Metatype: D (elf, dryad) Attributes: B (20) Magic/Resonance: E (Mundane) Skills: C (28/2) Resources: A (450,000) Wasn't sure if you saw but I had them above the Quick Reference sheet. Let me know if there's any other questions I can answer!
  14. You can adjust the qualities limit in the settings file in Chummer. I can provide screenshots later if you'd like. As for the rest of the books/Biocompat, you might need to use the "Full house" option for Chummer's setting file as a base, then modify/save it as a different file with the various home rules. I'm still working on figuring out how to do the essence refund.
  15. I'm wondering if it's worth doing the data entry for all the gear and stuff, especially if it's already in the sheet.
