  1. Ah, okay. You can give it a shot then, yeah.
  2. Alfren's whip does hit on the first strike, the cleric now representing a very nice target - the thin leather length, moving at speeds faster than the eye can easily follow strikes across her face, cutting open a line along her cheek, marring the woman's face - an attack and an insult in one, given how important control of one's appearance is for a cleric of Lolth in mainstream drow society.
  3. Because I left you a bit hanging for a question, I'll give and the rest of the day.
  4. I think Ne'charri probably doesn't count as Flat Footed under the circumstances.
  5. "Call me a coward!? To the Nine Hells with you, Druid B****!" The leader gestured to his men, snarling, vein in his neck throbbing, "Draw your weapons you bastards! If there's one, they'll be more! But this one is for me!" The four soldiers not affected by Keeper's spell draw their weapons, though they do seem to be at least wary - and one of them seems to be on the very of crapping himself. The other six, still effected by Keeper's spell, don't draw their weapons at all - they do seem disquieted, but the spell retains enough of a hold for the supernatural calm to remain their primary emotional state. Leveling his sword at her, the man in charge thrust for Ne'charri's stomach. Mechanics Since it seems like it's just gonna be Ne'charri vs the Serjeant, I don't think there's much need for Initiative. There's not much chance he can kill you, barring a string of critical his on his part, but he's not a level 1 mook either.
  6. I'm sorry, I was waiting on Keeper. I'll have a post tomorrow either way.
  7. Sorry for the delay by the way. As a headsup - I may or may not being experiencing several life dislocations in the next few weeks (moving homes among other things) that may or may not place serious delays on my ability to post. I'll try to let you know if things actually happen or not.
  8. Well, it's not Enlarge Person that she cast, but theoretically if you spellcraft identified it as it was being cast... But, and I just checked, counterspelling requires readying an action, unless you have an ability that changes that.
  9. "The 'Lead' Zombie is actually a Hecuva! If you have any Silver, then that's what we need to stop it!" Iridni raised her voice to heard over the fighting.
  10. Though the orb water does slow the sword and thus make it hit with less force, in essence, there's not much the priestess can do to avoid the attack, and it retains enough force for the blow to do some damage to her mithril chain, the blade sinking into the flesh of her side, a shallow cut, but she's bleeding now - to her credit, perhaps, she's too focused on holding her breath cry out in pain, but blood is now coming out of her wound, into the water of the orb holding her. Mechanics The Rules say that victims of the orb are allowed a 'new reflex save every round' to escape (DC 21). They got one when they were engulfed, and it's still that same round, but this is also their turn to act now, so I'm inclined to say they get their chance now, but I could be missing some nuance in the rules. One of the Clerics is able to force herself free and staggers out of the orb. Scrabbling to stand up straight, the sodden, waterlogged priestess starts chanting, brandishing her symbol of Lolth, chanting a spell calling on Lolth's favor to allow her to 'Smite' the 'fools, heretics and traitors' that surrounded her. As she finishes the spell, for a moment, nothing seems to be happening, and then she starts to grow in size, taller, larger, quickly reaching the height of an ogre, and her armor and weapons grow with her. The two guards that surrendered just now look both terrified and like they bit into a lemon - their leaders were not quite as out for the count as they thought, but they dropped their weapons and can't do anything about that - yet -.
  11. Current Mental Focus Investiture 3 Points Invested in Her Monocle (Divination), granting a +1 Insight bonus to Perception Checks 2 Points Invested in her Bracers (Abjuration), granting a +1 Resistance Bonus to all her saving throws. 2 Points Invested in her Ring (Illusion), granting her 10% Concealment [Requires the use of a Standard Action, Lasts Until She Attacks] Her failed arrow was annoying, but she didn't have much choice around that. There was something strange about one of the zombies, and as she notched another arrow into her bow and fired, the string releasing, the arrow flying, she tried to figure out just what it was that was familiar. Mechanics Attacking Zombie one if it's still standing. Attacking another one at random if that one is dead. 2 Spells Remaining
  12. Yeah but I tried that with the 'new roller' thread and it didn't seem to hide it either. EDIT: Okay, no it did work, but it doesn't have the hidden symbol like the other two hidden threads I have...
  13. Keeper was able to hit the man in charge and six of the ten other soldiers in the clearing. Most of the six immediately seem to relax and their shoulders sag a little, but the one in charge seemed to be unaffected. The other four that weren't effected drew their weapons at the sight of Keeper's spell, but no one attacked, yet. That man was a grizzled, older man, a few light, faded scars on his hands and face suggesting he'd seen quite a few battles. He, like all the men, wore chainmail armor, he had a sword and shield, and an axe at his belt. His men looked to be fairly young, one maybe just into his late teens, recent recruits or conscripts, likely. He looked like a blood vessel was going to burst in his forehead, his cheeks red, eyes popping with rage at the sight of Ne'charri and then his men suddenly calming. He wears a blue and red tabard over his armor. The clearing had tents set up, and near the tents were assorted crates, barrels, digging tools. There were several piles of recently cut branches and collected twigs and the like, as well as a number of pits in the process of being dug, with several of the soldiers having shovels on the ground next to them. "Give me one good reason not to gut you and your friend!" The man in charge said, approaching Ne'charri, sword raised up, pointed at her. "You're no civilized woman, dressing like an orc, or worse, a druid! And you, old man!" He gestured at Keeper with his blade, "Undo what you did to my men or I'll split you navel to neck! NOW!" The veins in his neck seemed to be bulging.
  14. Okay, so I can't seem to remember how I hide threads in the GM screen.
  15. That's supposed to be hidden from player view, whoops. Go for it.
  16. The tracks continue on for over a mile before going a bit further into the forest, coming up to a clearing. She hears the Count's men - presumably - before she actually sees the clearing entrance, which is up ahead, a long turn in the animal track the footprints were on to get past a particularly tall and thick oak tree. "...and if you slack off, the fucking druids will start turning trees against us and we're all dead!" Someone was shouting. There was the sound of flesh hitting flash - a slap? Punch? and someone letting out a cry of pain. "Keeping watch is a sacred obligation to your fellow soldiers, especially in hostile territory like this! You can say goodbye to any leave, and all your fucking pay for the next week!" Someone made a sound that sounded like protest, but the voice kept going, "No f*cking arguing, you pathetic, gutless, lazy worm of a soldier! And the rest of you, get back to digging those firepits and ! If we have to smoke all the animals out, then we'll do that! The Count wants this whole section of forest clear of Druid spies by tomorrow! You and you! Get that kindling wet! You, keep tearing off branches, we're going to need more!" There was a Chorus of 'Aye Sir!" from a group of people - it was hard to say how many - and then the sound of people moving, the leader making a few more shouts, directing people, micromanaging.
  17. When I read Ne'charri's comment, this was my immediate thought:
  18. I HATE THE NEW ROLLING SYSTEM

"I think combining our forces might be an excellent choice. You're clearly far better at the lethality than me, and while I'm not normally an invitee to the parties at this place, I do have some familiarity with the names and faces on the party circuit." She considered. "We're inside now, so we just need to figure out where to go from here. The fact that there's no guard, and and this abandoned mask is. not good. But Happy thoughts, no?" Nykla proposed. they were in now, sparing a few glances for the attractive Varisian woman. Perhaps she could mix pleasure (finding Amin) with pleasure (getting to know this attractive young woman). "Searching it is. But unless you have rope and an ability to climb, the balcony isn't an option. If we can find a person, I'm confident I can... convince them to let us in, given the right opportunities, but failing that, trying to force this door or a window seems the best bet. Servants entrance should be preferrable than the front door, I'd asssume. Shall we go see if we can find one?" Time and place, yes, but still. "My name is Nykla. What's yours?"
