Having finished his rest a good while before Jack & Mike, Murdir had reassessed his set of veils, coming to the unfortunate conclusion that his ablative health buffer was no longer feasible with their vastly limited schedule. Even by the time he'd finished shaping and binding his new veils, most of the others were still napping, so the jolly duergar had turned to the survivors with his characteristically unsettling smile.
"So friends, how can I help you?"
Perhaps the most surprising thing was that the question was genuine, with the duergar pitching in to help sort things out and keep people settled as best he could, all the while surreptitiously keeping any eye out for anyone that seemed suspicious or potential infiltrating cult members.

When the others finally started stirring, he returned just in time to hear Eilidh's initial comment.
"Rest is for the weak, friend."
The weak, and those not owned by Droskar, anyway. Once the others were sorted, he made his way toward the doors, ready to move on and collect some more toes.

Chuckling ominously, Murdir shook his head slightly at Dena's rant with a cheerful grin on his face.
"Ah, friend. Vengeance is meaningless if you don't get it with your own hands. I'll try to keep a couple alive for you."
Leaving it at that for now, the jolly duergar moved on, continuing to keep an eye out for anyone he recognized, and treating anyone injured that he came across. There'd be plenty of time to ruin reputations if they survived, after all.

"If we can fasten ourselves to the sled, we could potentially go straight up one of the columns to get to the palaces and the gardens that still remain above. Good odds of them having been warded, even odds of those wards having survived, admittedly."
Pointlessly shading his eyes as he peered over the ruined city, Roderick soon shrugged slightly. He'd never been allowed to go to Metrol, and so had no memories to compare the current state of the city to.

Having been far too tempted than was healthy to give a snarky response to the lady manning the door and trust in his innate resistance to fire, Malciar nevertheless managed to give the 'proper' answer. Joining the others on the far side, the half-orc raised an eyebrow at the newest demand, responding quietly to Vergren's suppositions.
"If it's based on religious qualifications, I think I've got you beat for the weakest. Perhaps they meant physically?"
That would probably be him or Ilyrana, considering the general lack of exertion involved in casting spells. The half-orc didn't expound on his comment of lack of worth, instead half contemplating if he should just start tossing fireballs.

    "Lovely place, this."
Seemingly both mildly amused and impressed by the tunnel and its concealment at the end, Dros nevertheless soon turned his attention to what seemed to be the compass. Lacking the ability to directly perceive magical auras, he glanced over at the other casters in the group.
    "So, is this thing broken?"

Following the others around the chapel as he looked for a place to stow his potential esipils, Murdir beamed cheerfully at the refugees, as completely unperturbed by the situation as he had been back in the Asylum.
    "Hello, friends."
After greeting the others, the jolly duergar looked around for the asylum survivors, taking a moment to check in on them, as well as looking for the boy they'd rescued and his sister.

Should be good to go, just debating some minor purchases.

I'd vote for the gang tunnel, since it seems to be the least likely to have issues involved. Since we're using milestone leveling, there probably isn't much benefit to trying to plow through the gates.

    "Sounds like a good time."
Rolling up his sleeve, Malciar revealed an arm covered in tattoos and scars, with the latter seemingly meant to obscure the former. Not particularly knowledgeable about religions that worshiped actual gods, the half-orc merely glanced over the brand curiously.

    Got it.

I should probably hold onto the Scroll of Glitterdust and at least one of Levitate and the CMW.

I'd usually say also the summon scroll though after the fit Pearl made about the Esoboks, it might be strange if she used it.

I'd be willing to use the Keen Edge scroll on Droz' Fauchard in a boss fight if he wants to purchase it. Not sure if he can cast it himself...

Pearl has Scribe Scroll, so is it all the same to snatch up the scrolls from the loot or better she write them up herself?

Pearl already has a cloak of resistance, so if Droz wants the last one... Otherwise we can sell one.

    CMW x1

    GLITTERDUST x1

    LEVITATE x1

    = 275gp

Also: Droz mentioned the Ectoplasmic Rod? Does he want it?

Personally, I'd say treat the scrolls same as potions & alchemical items, where they go into a group pool and anyone can use them. If Pearl wants to add them to her spellbook, that's fine - she'd pay for the ink to do so, but not for the scroll itself. It doesn't make sense to charge for things like that that contribute to group utility, at least in my mind.

Dros won't ever be able to cast Keen Edge, but he's got an ability that's a close second from his Transmutation Implement, where he can add any weapon special ability with a +1 value to his Fauchard for a minute. Given my luck, it's usually better to spend it on Bane rather than Keen, admittedly, especially if we're fighting a group of enemies that all fall into a single category. Upgrading to a +1 Keen Adamantine Fauchard is fairly high on his list of things to do, along with trying to get some mithral armor. Hopefully we manage to rob enough tombs acquire enough valuables from the miscreants we are forced to slaughter on this next trip into the necropolis that he can do one of those.

He also doesn't need the Cloak of Resistance - he gets a resistance bonus to saves from his Abjuration Implement, so it wouldn't stack.

The ectoplasmic rod likewise would be treated as 'party' loot. Pearl/anyone uses it during the day, and if there are charges left over, Dros can spend them while burning extra spell slots casting Node of Blasting on arrows at night.

    11 hours ago, Terran said:

I think we get extra since we were charged full price for the cloaks of charisma, instead of their sales price.

That's 500 GP overcharge each directly from Anhotep's and Raisin's Gold.

You were charged sales price. Raisin has 2,489gp according to the spreadsheet; Ramad has 3,489gp; Pearl has 3,989gp; Anhotep has 3,489gp; and Dros has 2,989gp.

    12 hours ago, Terran said:

I'm not complaining, just a question.

It looks like the Cloaks of Resistance, valued at 1000 GP each and which could be sold for 500 GP, were assigned a value more than sales price to Anhotep and Raze.

Did you charge Raisin for a Spider Climb potion she used in the Fake Fight?

All potions went into the party category, so Raisin was not charged for it.

    Ooc

Cash Allocation is what people would have to spend, with the Total Value line serving as a check to make sure everyone's getting the same value. Pearl gets the full 3,989gp, since she's not marked as collecting anything from the loot list, while Dros only has 2,989gp, since he took the Amulet of Natural Armor.

The calculations assume scrolls go into party loot, and from there can into a spellbook without charging the caster. Same with potions, alchemical items, etc, unless it's not something people have expressed interest in keeping.

    Ooc

Did some quick tweaks to a copy of the loot sheet to try to make the calculations a bit easier/quicker. If we put the scrolls/potions/alchemical items in a 'Party Loot' category, everyone should end up with about 4,000gp in value after everything is sold.

    Here's the edited sheet.

I think I've got everything sorted right - if there's something I'm missing or something someone wants to claim/not claim, let me know. I thought I remembered Ramad wanting one of the Cloaks, so I put him as claiming one.

Looking over the room, Murdir's jolly grin faded somewhat as he took in the vast array of records. Unfortunately, they had not the time to give the history the respect or time it would take to fully parse through, so the duergar shook his head.
"Come back for this, I think. We've not enough time to fully go through it all, and at this point, it doesn't matter what we find."
Despite his comment, the jolly duergar attempted to levitate the cabinets, checking to see if they were within what he could telekinetically lift. If they were, he brought them along as he collected the unconscious potential esipils riding dogs. Having secured the group of caninewfriends, Murdir was content to go along with the others to the chapel, though he kept an eye out for any toes that would be a good addition to his collection as they went.

Having grounded his polearm as the end of the fracas was declared, Dros watched with a detached attitude and a small grin as several of the others immediately progressed into a lively discussion. When the metamagic rod was handed over, he raised an eyebrow and examined it thoughtfully.
"I might be able to use the rod with the spell I put on Raisin's arrow earlier, to make sure it'll affect ghosts. I'll give it a try with any extras I make before we head out. Assuming we're heading out tomorrow, that is."

Beneviolent grin only widening as the others forgot about the trap, and started ruminating on the lack of time, Murdir once again started patching them back up, but at a much slower pace, going along with his veil's slow building buffer.
"Giving up on getting the ballistae then? We ought to at least see how hard they'd be to take, just to make sure the cultists can't grab them once we're gone."
Ideally, they'd take them, but in a worst case scenario, it still wouldn't be the worst to damage them or at least take the bolts to limit their use.

Though too late to actually help Raze, who'd been able to free herself, Dros nevertheless shifted behind Ramad, placing himself in a position to threaten both the esobok and the archer. Not wanting the outsider to go for the others, he changed his target to slice out at the creature, working on removing it from the equation so they'd only have the archer to deal with.

"It might be better to simply come back later, if we don't all die. I'll try something though."
Burning through essence yet again, Murdir's protective force enclosure faded, being traded for bands of runic cloth. Taking the gunslinger's place by the bricked up wall, the duergar attempted to summon portals - one on the other side of the wall, and the other right next to Red Jack.

"I can put some protection spells up - limit the impact of a domination attempt from a vampire. I can only cast so many though, so folks might need to buddy up. Fortunately, the spell protects those who stay close to the primary target as well. Alternatively, I do have some shorter duration protection from evil spells that I can try to cast before anything happens. No guarantees on that though."
After giving the others a moment to decide who'd get the benefit of the protection spells, Malciar proceeded to cast the protection spells, as well as once again casting the spell that'd let him sense the presence of undead.

Assuming we buddy up based on role, we'd probably want a Magic Circle Against Evil for the casters, the melee, and mid-line, so Malciar/Ilyrana, Ulrica/Halgana & Vergren/Kero. Malciar does have enough spell slots to put one on everyone, actually, but I'd like to keep some high level slots for fireballs, and the off chance that this will take long enough that we'd need to refresh the buffs.

Joining Ramad in pressuring the archer, Dros stepped forward and slashed out at the man again. As he did so, he glanced over to see that Raze was in a bit of a predicament.
"You need a hand there, Raze?"
Despite the offer, he had to admit that he wasn't entirely in the best position himself, trying to keep between the archer and the casters to impede the man's shots.

    "Have fun, friends."
In true duergar overlord fashion, Murdir supervised the others as they started taking down the wall and Eilidh used the wand on him. After a moment of amusing himself though, he set about patching up their injuries, small cuts opening up on his arms as he transferred his own wellbeing to the others. At Mike's comment, he grinned, a wide and somewhat nasty expression.
"Alternatively, we could move the body and hope the ghost is bound to it rather than the fort, so it'll be a nasty surprise for someone else when it reforms. That'd be amusing. If we had more time, I'd say we should catapult it into the manor and see what happens."

I assume you are joking, but holding off posting for a few minutes for a response in case I missed something, which is entirely possible.

Grimacing as the archer popped up out of the mists right next to him and barely missed a shot, Dros quickly looked around as the mists faded. Seeing that Anhotep was back up - so much so, that there were two of the cleric now - and that one of the esoboks was down, he stepped back, trying to foul the man's ability to hit Anhotep again.

Confident that Ramad could deal with the other esobok, Dros focused on the archer, striking out at the man.

He's an Occultist using the Trappings of the Warrior panoply. He gets a number of bonuses - including Full BAB and +2 to a physical ability score (currently Dex) - only while wielding his invested weapon, which is the fauchard. Depending on how things go, I'm contemplating investing feats in being able to make shield bashes without losing the shield bonus/taking penalties. That's a fairly hefty feat investment though, so I'm more likely going to go for Combat Reflexes & Deft Maneuvers first.

Up to you regarding the mist, though it might work out for letting Ramad drop the esoboks without as much interference from the archer.
