Anhotep intones.. "Khepri free us from the labours of life, give us work that brings joy and free us from evil.", finishing this brief prayer as Ramad dispatches the zombie. He then casts detect magic and looks over the grieving widow.

"We came at the sound of a noise.. a thunderclap sound. Did it come from here?", he asks any who might answer as Raisin released the tension on her bow. Their task was now complicated by having to keep a woman from the remnants of a mob.

He did not repeat his demand to leave the streets. People made their own choices. If it got them killed it was their doing. Now he'd just wait for answers, from his query and from his perusal of the widow.

With the zombified husband returned to his rest, Dros relaxed slightly, though his attention went from being split between the lady and the mob to being devoted solely to the mob. Disinclined to trust them not to do anything stupid, for such was the way of fearful and angry people, he maintained position between them and the widow as he watched.

The Story

Thump. The zombie falls to ground after Ramad puts his blade in the back of its skull. The woman slumps as her husband dies again. She lightly sobs and touches his face.

Seeing that the zombie has been put to death, the thugs start to back away. Soon they disappear into the night .

"I tried to scare them away. " the woman explains when Anhotep asks about the thunder.

Anhotep, while something of a blowhard at times is not a total asswipe. He places a comforting hand on her shoulder and squeezes gently. On the other hand, he finds himself wishing they'd been able to walk back to the cemetery before killing hubby, since now they'd have to carry the stiff. Removing his hand, he listens carefully for the sounds of disturbance, another job to tick off their to do list. He is turning towards the road that will lead back to the cemetery when something else occurs to him. "How is it that you can use a wand, and what kind of wand is it?", he asks.

The Story

Still Kneeling by her dead husband, "It causes plants to grow and entangle people" she simply explains the wand to Anhotep without looking up. Ramad's question causes to her to look slowly around in a confusion. "What street is this?"

It is well after midnight. The woman appears to be completely mentally and physically exhausted. She probably will not be to direct the party anywhere at this moment.

The Story

After midnight, the streets are eerily dark, quiet and empty. The party is able make the several block journey without incident. When the party arrives at the temple. A priest with a couple laypeople come out to help the woman and her deceased husband into temple. They didn't need any explanation of her exact situation. She wasn't the first grief-stricken person in shock that has arrived at their doors. Nor would she be the last.

One of the priests leads the party past a couple of guards to a side room. The room has been transformed into a makeshift barracks filled with cots. Over half of the cots are currently in use. The priest "It has been a long night, and tomorrow will be a long day. Everyone should get some rest while they can " priest suggests.

Anhotep, who has for some time been relying on wands to contribute to the company's efforts looks like he's ready to turn in. His utter inability to turn undead has hit him hard, and even though he tries to hide it by being his usual ebullient self, his ebullience is a fragile thing, not his usual effortlessness.

"I'm ready to call it a night, but will join the three of you, should you decide to go back out.", he remarks in his usual mellifluous tones.

"If you're out of spells, much safer to call it for the night."
Tone mild, Dros voiced his opinion before turning back to Raze.
"If you give me one of your arrows, I'll put a spell on it that'll make it do a bit more damage to sentient beings."
If she agreed, the half-elf pulled a bit of string from his bag, wrapping a few loops around the arrowhead, using that as the focal point of the spell. Once that was done, he added an extra bit of string near the fletching, to help distinguish it from her other arrows.
"Try not to touch the string on the arrowhead, since it'll trigger if you do."
