Tor Valum[floatright][setfield][IMG2=128]https://i.imgur.com/eauTGZe.jpg[/IMG2][/setfield][/floatright] Male ??? Sith Sage Physical Description Constantly covered in thick robes and a mask, much of the elements of Tor Valum's identity are hidden from you. Even his voice (when he chooses to speak) has an odd, modulated quality to it, as though not entirely natural - perhaps a voicebox? His movements are uncannily perfect and smooth, and you're not entirely sure he isn't floating everywhere. Personality Tor Valum is difficult to read at the best of times, communicating often via a distinct lack of communcation - he will wait silently until you arrive at the correct conclusion, punishing you if you take too long or make too many incorrect guesses. Despite his frequent use of excruciating punishments, he does not seem to delight in suffering, viewing it more as a means to an end. Relationships Tor Valum plays favorites among his students, and his current favorite is Iella Maduel - though it's unclear if this is an honest opinion, or a tool used to motivate her or another of the disciples. He is also surprisingly slow to punish Porro for unclear reasons - it seems unlike him to show anything like sentimentality, though, so it's likely another scheme of his. The Acolyte[floatright][setfield][IMG2=128]https://i.imgur.com/Brz5ce3.png[/IMG2][/setfield][/floatright] Male ??? Sith Marauder Physical Description A cloaked figure perhaps more mysterious than Tor Valum himself, the Acolyte is Tor Valum's right hand and does whatever he tells him to do. Personality The Acolyte does not speak. He moves slowly in most situations, but in combat is too fast to keep track of. Relationships The Acolyte does not have any relationships. He does as Tor Valum commands. Kham Russ[floatright][setfield][IMG2=128]https://i.imgur.com/wFdpFGe.jpg[/IMG2][/setfield][/floatright] Male Vahla Ember of Vahla Physical Description Kham Russ is a Vahla, a near-Human species with thick cartilage instead of bones, making him remarkably flexible. He his the very epitome of brawn over brains, which gets him into danger sometimes, but just as often gets him out of it. He has a unique control over fire, often infusing his fists with it, making him deadly in a brawl. Personality Kham Russ is fully invested in the Dark Side, especially where anger is concerned. Even when undisturbed, it's easy to feel the tension rippling below the surface, just waiting for somebody to give him an excuse to lash out. More than any other pupil, Kham has gotten punished for unchecked aggression; Tor Valum respects anger, but insists that the Dark Side is made up of more emotions than just that, and if anger rules all of you, you are missing your full potential. Relationships Kham Russ has no friends among the Disjunctus disciples. He particularly hates Iella Maduel for her skill and for having Tor Valum's favor. Iella Maduel[floatright][setfield][IMG2=128]https://i.imgur.com/SP8znkO.png[/IMG2][/setfield][/floatright] Female Human Krath Cultist Physical Description Iella comes from a noble caste, and it shows in her appearance: she is composed and stern, fastidious about her cleanliness, and doesn't seem to know how to look at anyone other than down her nose. Her eyes constantly dart around the room, sizing up opponents and watching for assassins. Personality Iella is the Yin to Kham Russ's Yang, embodying the fear of the Dark Side over its anger. Unlike Greto-Zo, though, she does not let her fear stop her, but rather lets it fuel her into ever-greater heights of power. She never lashes out arbitrarily, but will often sabotage her fellow disciples unexpectedly, ensuring nobody is every in a position to cause her true harm. Relationships Iella is Tor Valum's favorite pupil, which tends to make her everyone else's least favorite. The other disciples are punished brutally when they fail to meet the same heights as Iella, and everyone is fully aware that if something were to happen to her, they would stop being made to look so bad. Greto-Zo[floatright][setfield][IMG2=128]https://i.imgur.com/55AvoR9.jpg[/IMG2][/setfield][/floatright] Male Draethos Keetael Hunter Physical Description Greto-Zo is tall for a Draethos, standing over 2 meters high, and is an agile warrior. He comes from an order of Draethos Force-users who use the Force to augment their abilities as hunters, known as the Keetael. Personality Greto-Zo is cautious, which gets him in trouble with Tor Valum at times, but has kept him alive in many of the challenges placed before him thus far, keeping him too far outside Tor Valum's favor - Tor Valum does not care for cowards, but appreciates shrewdness. Greto-Zo does not speak often, prefering to use telepathy - his kind have a natural affinity for it, and it is much more difficult to overhear than even whispers. Relationships Greto-Zo is only anything like ""comfortable"" with those who aren't a threat to him - which at the moment, is mostly just Porro Lowsyk. Faang[floatright][setfield][IMG2=128]https://i.imgur.com/uE1f84z.jpg[/IMG2][/setfield][/floatright] Female Cathar Zeison Sha Warrior Physical Description Lithe and powerfully built, Faang is an intimidating specimen of an already intimidating species. Her thin fur only barely covers numerous scars, most of them earned in battle. She comes from an order of Force-Users skilled with telekinesis, and her skill with that and a throwing blade make her as fearsome at range as she is up close. Personality Faang is spirited and usually quite jovial - she views herself as above all of the petty chaos of the academy, and destined for greatness as soon as she gets out. Her skill and willingness to get startlingly vicious has protected her from the worst of Tor Valum's ministrations so far, but privately, you do wonder how much longer she'll be able to keep her carefree attitude. Relationships Faang partners well with Iella Maduel, which is not the same as saying they get along together; rather, they understand each other well enough to not get in each others' way. Coming from a backwater world but still having managed to educate herself well enough, Faang looks down on some of the other fringers among her classmates - especially the Shapers, Rake and Kliin. Nerath[floatright][setfield][IMG2=128]https://i.imgur.com/8o7L3Hm.jpg[/IMG2][/setfield][/floatright] Male Twi'Lek Matukai Adept Physical Description Somehow both short and lanky, Nerath makes up for his lack of size with an intense control over the mass that he does have. Even his skin is unnaturally hard, toughened through his exotic Force training. Personality Nerath has an intense aura to him, always operating with a severity that is as intimidating as it is off-putting. He is quick to anger and slow to forget wrongs, holding grudges for minor offenses that perpetrator may not have even noticed. Relationships Nerath is something of a bully, but prefers physical abuse to anything emotional. He particularly targets those who lack the same control over their bodies that he has, finding both Amara and Cassia to be frequent targets - though Cassia has been fighting back more in recent weeks. He gets along well with the newcomer Rharo, and the pair have started teaming up in any activity that allows it. Cassia Minnau[floatright][setfield][IMG2=128]https://i.imgur.com/LnZETQg.png[/IMG2][/setfield][/floatright] Female Human Fallanassi Adept Physical Description Cassia Minnau is a Fallanasi, abducted along with Amara. She's tall and uses her height well, carrying herself humbly when appropriate and proudly when faced with a threat. Her once-soft features have grown harsher since arriving on Morabund, though, and more and more often she wields her height as an elegant weapon. Personality Cassia is quiet and soft-spoken, but unyielding even in her softness - she'll never speak out against you, but neither will she obey someone who hasn't proven to be worth obeying. Relationships Cassia has been close with Amara for most of their lives, but has grown more and more insular and quiet since arriving at Morabund. She has managed to earn Jecai's respect in repeated duels, and the pair have started tolerating each others' presence, even if you wouldn't call them friends. Marik[floatright][setfield][IMG2=128]https://i.imgur.com/dXxSr1Z.jpg[/IMG2][/setfield][/floatright] Male Human Kilian Ranger Physical Description Marik walks around as though in a state of perpetual pain, gritting his teeth and grimacing in even relatively pleasant scenarios. He's of average size and build, perhaps a little scrawny, but what he lacks in strength he makes up in reflexes; few others at the academy are as light on their feet. Personality Despite his constant grimace, Marik isn't entirely unpleasant to be around... as long as he think you're a worthy opponent. Those he deems to be beneath him are subject to frequent bursts of aggression and even violence. Relationships Marik doesn't have many close relationships, as he cuts himself off from those beneath him, and is generally rejected as a groveler by those above him. He has an oddly close relationship with Ideon Kale, though, and is the only other disciple to get along well with her akk dog, Ko. Jecai[floatright][setfield][IMG2=128]https://i.imgur.com/M2RZef9.jpg[/IMG2][/setfield][/floatright] Female Zabrak Witch of Dathomir Physical Description Jecai is short and wiry, constantly sneering and showing off her sharpened yellow teeth. She dresses in the robes of her Nightsister order, oranate and elegant. Personality Jecai was fully committed to the Dark Side long before she arrived on Moraband, and she allows her negative emotions to rule her life. She particularly enjoys taunting others who are unwilling to embrace the Dark, teasing them down the path, or into making a commitment to the light strongly enough that Tor Valum will finally let her kill them. Relationships Jecai reserves a special hatred for Iella Maduel, who is, in many ways, herself but better. She has an odd sense of kinship with Cassia Minau, and while you wouldn't call them friends, Jecai at least isn't constantly bullying Cassia. Talle[floatright][setfield][IMG2=128]https://i.imgur.com/3GQHroo.jpg[/IMG2][/setfield][/floatright] Balosar Bando Gora Cultist Physical Description Talle is pale and gaunt, with a hollow look in her permanently-dilated eyes. She moves in strange, stumbling lurches, though she has enough control over them that she can be difficult to strike in combat. Personality The drugs utilized by the Bando Gora cult have had a large effect on Talle's brain, leaving her somewhat psychotic and unpredictable. She tends to vary between mumbling quietly to herself and lashing out at those around her, though she has enough fear and respect for Tor Valum to control herself around him. Relationships Because of her mental state, Talle doesn't really have relationships with anyone - indeed, it may no longer be possible for her to form any meaningful relationships. Tor Valum's patience with her state is growing thin, and if she cannot be healed or controlled, she may soon be disposed of. Kaplan[floatright][setfield][IMG2=128]https://i.imgur.com/gDGobGO.jpg[/IMG2][/setfield][/floatright] Male Human Jensaarai Defender Physical Description Kaplan is tall and muscular, often wearing his armor even outside of a fight ever since getting jumped by a small group of weaker students - who are now all dead. He uses his helmet to modulate his naturally high voice into a deeper pitch, which sounds eerie and uncanny - not exactly the effect he was going for, but it works for him. Personality Kaplan has fully embraced the Dark Side's emphasis on Anger, and it shows in every facet of his personality. Even when he's in a good mood, he's pissed about something, and when he's in a bad mood, he's quick to throw tantrums, break things, or attack his peers. Relationships Kaplan doesn't have any close relationships anymore, having thrown most of them away over minor grudges and mistakes. He spends a lot of time brooding alone, which Tor Valum encourages. Eretti[floatright][setfield][IMG2=128]https://i.imgur.com/j3d640p.jpg[/IMG2][/setfield][/floatright] Male Human Jensaarai Defender Physical Description Short and unathletic, Eretti is particularly unimposing when not wearing his armor. He usually has a few bruises from the last task or punishment imposed by Tor Valum. Personality Eretti has learned a cunning wit and a keen eye in order to avoid being bullied to death on Moraband. He's rude and to-the-point, which earns him the respect of many who would otherwise walk over him, and the fear of those who fall for his bluffed strength. Relationships Eretti arrived with Cael Amin and Kaplan, but of the two is only still close at all with Cael. He gets along well with Nerath, and the two have become something of a team of bullies. Kliin[floatright][setfield][IMG2=128]https://i.imgur.com/I7s1CJq.jpg[/IMG2][/setfield][/floatright] Male Zabrak Shaper of Kro Var Physical Description Kliin is a quiet Zabrak, young even compared to the others among the Inquisitorius Disjunctus. He is usually sporting some new bruise or wound, often the target of the bullies, which Tor Valum encourages. He is physically imposing, strong and flexible, which only makes it odder when he refuses to use his full strength. Personality Despite his martial prowess, Kliin's unwillingness to use extreme violence means others often get the best of him in duels, and Tor Valum encourages them to be excessive in order to fully punish his reluctance. He took his former master's committment to the Light Side to heart, and refuses to revel in the hatred and anger that Tor Valum teaches - but his growing sense of fear may yet be his undoing in that regard. Relationships Kliin arrived with Rake and was once his friend, but they've grown apart as Rake has embraced the Dark while Kliin has shunned it. The only students Kliin could feel any kinship with are the other poor performers, but allying with them just puts a bigger target on your back, so he has become increasingly isolated and alone. Porro Lowsyk[floatright][setfield][IMG2=128]https://i.imgur.com/ADZhLvJ.jpg[/IMG2][/setfield][/floatright] Unknown Unknown Seyugi Dervish Physical Description Porro's physical appearance is unknown, as they are never seen outside of their robes and mask. Their robes are blood red and their mask a fearsome white thing of teeth without a face, but their recent failures have left their posture somewhat less intimidating - they are the weakest disciple of the group, and everyone knows it. Personality After several private punishments by Tor Valum, Porro has become increasingly skittish and paranoid. They keep their back to the wall and jump at loud noises. These increasingly displays of weakness have left them looking like chum in the water for the stronger students. Relationships Despite their general weakness, Porro is the least hated of the disciples by Kham Russ, due in no small part to a dedicated regimen of sucking up and debasing themself. Oddly, despite the display of weakness, Tor Valum has been somewhat understanding and accepting of this relationship, perhaps viewing it as analogus to a Sith master and apprentice. Rharo Desyk[floatright][setfield][IMG2=128]https://i.imgur.com/2RPXClI.jpg[/IMG2][/setfield][/floatright] Male Nagai Disciple of Twilight Physical Description Rharo Desyk is constantly covered by shadows thick enough to have a distinct physicality about them - even in situations of bright light, it is hard to make him out distinctly. Even in combat, he fights by stealth and obstructing his opponent rather than charging directly in the fray. Personality Despite his dark appearance, Rharo is relatively open and amicable when spoken to. He speaks without commitment, though, never stating anything verifiable one way or another, making it difficult to pin him down to ever being right or wrong. Relationships As a recent arrival, Rharo has yet to find a firm place in the hierarchy, and everybody is playing it safe around him. Ko[floatright][setfield][IMG2=128]https://i.imgur.com/jnpJpWd.jpg[/IMG2][/setfield][/floatright] Male Akk Dog Ko is an Akk Dog, a massive beast the size of a speeder with an armored carapace and razor teeth. Rharo Desyk Male Nagai Disciple of Twilight Physical Description Rharo Desyk is constantly covered by shadows thick enough to have a distinct physicality about them - even in situations of bright light, it is hard to make him out distinctly. Ko Male Akk Dog Ko is an Akk Dog, a massive beast the size of a speeder with an armored carapace and razor teeth. He is vicious and aggressive towards anyone but Tor Valum, around whom he is a submissive pet. Ko is an Akk Dog, a massive beast the size of a speeder with an armored carapace and razor teeth. 2. Oswald Minit Magical Practitioner | Refresh 2 High Concept | Self-Taught Demon SummonerOswald is a wizard who has taught himself the art of demon summoning, without the guidance of a mentor or formal education. His self-taught methods can lead to unpredictable and sometimes dangerous results. Invoke: To summon a demon, to have unique knowledge of demon summoning, to think outside the box Compel: To experience unexpected consequences from a summoning, to be mistrusted by other wizards, to face a demon he can't control Trouble | Skirting By On TechnicalitiesOswald has a knack for finding loopholes and bending rules to his advantage, often avoiding the consequences of his actions by exploiting technicalities. This behavior has led to a strained relationship with most of the authority figures in San Francisco, especially the Wardens. Invoke: To avoid trouble through a loophole, to exploit a rule in his favor, to talk his way out of a sticky situation Compel: To get caught in his own web of deceit, to have others distrust his motives, to create enemies due to his questionable actions Aspect III | Leading From the RearOswald prefers to take a more indirect approach to leadership, guiding others from a distance and letting them take the brunt of the action. While this can keep him out of harm's way, it may also lead to others questioning his courage or commitment. Invoke: To delegate tasks, to strategize from a safe distance, to give advice without taking direct action Compel: To be seen as cowardly, to have others doubt his leadership, to face consequences for not being present when needed Aspect IV | "If I Knew Better, I'd Do Better"Oswald is aware of his own limitations, often recognizing that if he had more knowledge or experience, he would make better choices. While this self-awareness can lead to personal growth, it can also result in moments of self-doubt and hesitance. Invoke: To learn from past mistakes, to seek out knowledge to improve, to be humble in the face of criticism Compel: To second-guess himself, to be hesitant in decision-making, to feel overwhelmed by the weight of his ignorance Aspect V | Moral Isn't Always EthicalOswald believes in doing what he thinks is right, even if it means bending or breaking established ethical rules. His moral compass is strong, but it can lead him into conflict with those who prioritize strict adherence to ethical guidelines. Invoke: To justify a morally-driven action, to find creative solutions to ethical dilemmas, to stand up for his beliefs Compel: To clash with authority figures, to face consequences for breaking rules, to be seen as morally ambiguous by others Approaches Good (+3) | Focus Fair (+2) | Flair, Haste Average (+1) | Intellect, Guile Mediocre (+0) | Force Conditions [1][1][1][1][1] Stress [4] In Peril [6] Doomed [ ][ ][ ][ ][ ] Indebted [ ] Exhausted [ ] Burned Out Stunts Evocation: See p. 140. Thaumaturgy: You excel at ritual magic. Add +2 to the preparation roll for any ritual. Soulgaze: When looking someone directly in the eye for more than a few seconds, you peer into their soul and they likewise see into yours. The exchange manifests itself as a cryptic vision. Make a Focus roll, opposed by their Focus roll; the winner learns one concrete, useful piece of information about the other individual, or two things if the winner succeeds with style. On a tie, each person learns something. These things can be advantages with a free invoke at the GM’s discretion. Debt Broker: You have a network of supernatural contacts you trade favors with regularly. As long as you have sufficient time to make deals among your contacts, you clear a box of Indebted automatically every milestone. Quid Pro Quo: Whenever you cast a summoning ritual, you may mark one box of Indebted instead of any one cost. The debt is owed to the creature summoned, and they will expect payment before they return home. Cunning Negotiator: You gain a +2 bonus to checks made to negotiate contracts or deals, or to catch loopholes or sneaky tricks in the wording.

11. Welcome to the City by the Bay, where the fog rolls in, and secrets hide in the shadows. San Francisco has long been a haven for the supernatural community, a place where different factions coexist in a fragile balance of power. But now, that balance is teetering on the edge, and the city's supernatural denizens find themselves caught in a deadly game of cat and mouse. In this campaign, you will play as a group of supernatural investigators, drawn together by fate, tasked with unraveling the mysteries of the growing conflict in San Francisco. You will face off against supernatural threats, navigate the complex web of alliances and betrayals, and make difficult choices that will shape the future of the city. Only by working together can you hope to prevent San Francisco from becoming a battleground for supernatural power struggles. Aspect I: A City on the Edge San Francisco's once-peaceful supernatural community is being torn apart. Powerful beings are being attacked, vanishing without a trace, and no one knows who or what is behind it. Tensions are rising, as once-amicable factions now eye each other with suspicion and mistrust. As accusations fly and paranoia spreads, the city finds itself on the brink of an all-out supernatural war. Aspect II: Supernatural Underworld In the shadows of the city's iconic landmarks, a hidden world exists - a world of vampires, werewolves, wizards, and creatures that defy explanation. The supernatural underworld of San Francisco is a complex web of alliances and rivalries, a delicate ecosystem where power is the ultimate currency. As the players delve deeper into this world, they will discover that not everything is as it seems, and that even their closest allies may be hiding deadly secrets. Aspect III: A Web of Conspiracies The investigation into the gruesome crime scene that sparked the growing conflict will lead the players down a rabbit hole of deceit and betrayal. Unraveling the threads of the conspiracies at play will require the players to navigate the treacherous landscape of the supernatural underworld, facing off against powerful enemies and forging uneasy alliances with former adversaries. The players will encounter ancient artifacts of immense power, secret societies with hidden agendas, and conspiracies that stretch back centuries.
12. Oh, I hadn't noticed the themes below, you're right that both other themes fix all of my concerns, so that's great!
13. I want to open by saying I really dig everything in the new site that I've played around with so far. My only real issue right now is the site is really wide.   There's probably some more technical term for this, but the old site limited the width of the central content so that things wouldn't stretch across the entire screen. This new site has no such width restriction, which means text will stretch out across the whole thing in an uncomfortable way. I think it'd be great if we could limit the maximum width of the content again, so it uses the whole real estate on narrow screens, but doesn't get out-of-hand on widescreen setups.   And then I should maybe keep these in a separate topic, but since I'm posting anyway, two smaller things that are probably more about my personal taste than anything else: I'd like it if the main content was just a little smaller on a desktop (the base font size is kinda large, but I guess I can just zoom out a bit), and I'd like it if the boxes I could type in were a different color than the area around them. Right now, for example, in this text box, there's not even a line between the text area and the "choose files" box below it or the text options area above it.   Really excited for the changes in general, thanks for all the hard work!
