  2. That is the way I understood it—we post in this forum. , if you want me to move her, let me know. Decided to go with a fighter instead of a cleric. I'll try to get my description done tonight after work. ¡No puedo esperar!

Ariana Gonzalez, Fighter Sixteen, lithe body, eager eyes, wild hair, tanned skin Ariana Gonzalez was diagnosed with cystic fibrosis just after her birth and has spent a good chunk of her life in the bed or in the hospital. 4. R.I.P. Samantha. Are you going to do playbooks first come, first served? I'd love to play a Cleric.
  5. Maria slept like a baby. She always did when she slept in Agnes' bed.   Their late-night rendezvous had been a staple of their relationship for some years now. It was a subject they never spoke about. Agnes would leave her bedroom door cracked as an invitation, an invitation Maria always accepted, and it was usually expected that Maria would go back to her room when they were finished. But on some nights, like last night, Maria slept through until morning, sleeping as close to Agnes as she could. But when the sun was up, Agnes would become Dr. Livingston again, and they would part ways without a word . . . until the next time.   The sun peeked around the curtains on the east-facing window, and Maria opened her eyes. A new day, and still a great mystery to solve.
  6. SAN!   Solid as a f-ing rock!   @Caystodd, my turn to out you. 😉
  7. Maria nearly choked on the bite in her mouth. She looked at Livingston incredulously for a second before she mastered herself again.   "Uh . . . yes. Yes. I too learned to shoot as a chica. My father taught me. I was . . . quite good. Good enough to shoot a bird if needed."
  8. I had no idea what I was going to read when I went over to the story thread.   I was a little disappointed. 😉
  9. Ditto. But Maria will be up early to make sure Livingston has everything she needs and then some robust exercise.
  10. Maria did not know these people, and they did not know her, so she kept her distance as they moved up the sidewalk. She tried her best to keep an eye out for birds without looking like she was losing her mind.
  11. Maria bent down and picked up a rock. She looked up at the bird but quickly sized up the range. Too far away. She didn't drop the rock.   "Do you talk to the birds, Stephanie?" Maria asked. "Do they talk to you?"
  12. Maria looked away quickly from the birds. "¡Dios nos salve a todos!" she whispered and crossed herself.   "¡Dr. Livingston!" Maria called. "¡Dr. Livingston!" she repeated with a sense of urgency.   When Coupard and Dr. Livingston inevitably looked over, she pointed up into the tree, her hand in front of her chest so as to not draw attention to it and without looking up.
  13. "¿Los pájaros?" Maria asked. "¿Cuál es tu pájaro favorito? What is your favorite bird?"
  14. "Sí, Señora."   Maria walked over to where the menfolk were trying to entertain and persuade the Ramirez girl. She kept her distance but tried to crane her neck to see what the girl was writing on the crossroad puzzle.
  15. As they were pulling up and getting out, Maria asked the question that still lingered in her mind.   "Señor Stone, I keep hearing talk of el pájaro negro, the black bird. What is it? Is it a figure of speech or do you speak of a real bird? Why so?"
  16. "Dr. Livingston also has a car," Maria said. "We could meet up in an hour. The trip should only take about an hour. We can be home by dinner."
  17. "Lo tengo aqui." Maria said, mostly to herself.   She rummaged through her large handbag and produced the name card that had been left to them by Abraham Broder. She looked at the small information card as she handed it over to Livingston. The name Stephanie Ramirez was printed on the top.   "Quien eres, Estephania Ramirez."
  18. Maria let Livingston introduce her as always. She  waved over the doctor's shoulder.   "Hello, professor."
