As per normal game rules, you may use a scroll for any spell that appears on your spell list, but not for any spell that doesn't. That doesn't mean you can't waste money purchasing one; you just can't use it. Who am I to stop you from purchasing them? If you want to give them to players who can use them, by all means.

You may breath water. Alcohol kills living organisms. A magic spell that lets you breath water does not let you breath alcohol. Or lava. Or any other liquid.

Ah, well there goes the "hiding in the wine barrel" of exfiltration. Also it may be for the best on the spell scrolls.

I will make some final adjustments for the items to be purchased, but also should I just pretend my PC is there for the sake of RPing in the character thread despite the mention that I might be found elsewhere? Should I just message privately for that?

    Gleaming the Cube?

I'm just going to admit that I thought Sam Reigel was full of shit when he did his ad bits for Nord VPN and now I'm afraid he's a genius.

  3. So I am pretty sure the only things left for me to do for my PC is the rumors and inventory (and a picture), but to that end, I am curious about spell scrolls.

Am I able to purchase a scroll for Find Familiar and/or Find Steed and just have that on hand? I couldn't find anything in the normal game rules, or this game's rules regarding spells outside one's spell list.

Edit: I also did see the roll needed to determine the price of some scrolls, so I was didn't want to roll ahead of confirmation.

Edit: Also, Can I get a pre-game ruling on how magical abilities to breathe water interact with alcohol? I might have an interesting idea of how I could be introduced.

I like the idea. And it works well for both a prisoner in the fort they're currently attacking (if they open it sooner rather than later), or someone who's just gotten into Kalaman not too long ago.

Glad I sparked some interest in the person running this, but I am curious now how I should phrase my own plothook/origin/background sections. I'll admit that for the last two. Also, is anyone else here having strange issues trying to read their applications/posts? I have had the page load up and not allow me to see the edit button, and another time the edit button doesn't even show the post when I go to edit it.

    I don't mind swapping a like-for-like proficiency, i.e., a weapon for a weapon, a skill for a skill, a tool for a tool, language for a language, etc.

I am in the process of making an application and wonder if you're okay with the Tasha's Cauldron rules about swapping out proficiency. For instance, I had an idea of an elven merchant that has more proficiency with artisan tools than weapons. Is that alright with you and if so how should I do that? One for one per weapon or all the weapon training for a smaller number of artisan tools?

Most likely, you'd have been from one of those western coastal cities in the northern half of Nordmaar, where refugees fleeing first northward could forewarn you of the blitzkrieg of dragon invasions by the Red and Green Dragon Armies. However, the module treats these invasions as having been so fast that there really is only just rumors of the war filtering west. Perhaps from Haant, Pentar, or Jotan, you and a small group managed to get out to sea under the cover of night and got far enough away to evade their patrols. This isn't going to be a large community of refugees, more like a very VERY small group numbering at most 10 that have escaped, and even then, fairly recently. Perhaps the last couple of weeks or so.

This also is something I'd be interested to explore. I haven't read all of the extra details across the pages of your game here, but could I have someone who's been captured by one of the Dragon Armies before and was forced to work with them on things like translations or counter-spy work? I have a bit of a linguist theme going, so the I liked the idea of someone whom was basically forced to translate stolen and otherwise coded messages for the enemy side, but have broken away so that they can start fighting back. I will have a mock-up post soon to be looked over, and I can pivot if that idea wouldn't work out for this game.

  6. Having earned the respect of his devilish jailer for withstanding the ultimate punishment, an eternity of listening to whiny protest songs from the 60's, The Red Goat is deposited back into the land of the living. Wishing for for a peaceful place to rest under a gentle sun, he immediately rams the nearby bunny off the hill, "MY HILL" he thinks to himself, and settles down to the quiet churning of beeping machinery he doesn't understand.

  7. And lo, a fiery portal from hell erupts under the unassuming lapin, driving it away as The Red Goat emerges. Having beaten back the denizens of damned to secure himself a new afterlife, he lays claim to His Hill once again.

  8. The above images, while impressive in their degree of fine detail, always bring to my mind the question of why such service generators don't already come with something like an actual artistic editor of sorts. I've seen the concept applied to AI testing for models solving complex mazes or games where there is literally a "human test", or whatever you'd call it, in which a person basically checks in to do minor adjustments and corrections on the AI's direction. Like if an AI was being taught "how to walk" with a pair of 3D legs, a person would come along to make sure it doesn't end up "learning to walk" by bending the knees backwards. instead of forwards, or else purposefully breaking its own physics engine. So for AI art generators, why not have a human editor come along to correct things like the 6-fingered hand? Or to confirm consistency in clothing and armor patterns? Seems if nothing else like a perfect fit for a premium version of what is probably normally a free service right?
