  1. Sorry to ruin your best-laid plans, Dax. Really I am. (Need a Deception check?) In any case, it's not for want of trying, is it? :) The number of times that Garion aka Bait (everyone's favorite Bite-sized Bravo) has almost gotten eaten ... Regarding a reroll on the Save vs Sleep, nah, let's not tempt fate. At DC 30, he's as likely to crit fail, as succeed. So maybe best to take a nap -- until some kind soul rouses him awake. P.S. As much as it pains you, I believe Garion's hit points should be put back to full in the tracker, yes? (Albeit maybe not for long.)
  2. Sigh ... that could arguably have gone better ... As the nightmare attacks, Garion displays his puppydog eyes and asks in sad, hurt tone, "So ... that's a 'no' on the drinks?" He makes an to the charging horse. Diplomacy for Empathetic Plea Diplomacy vs Will DC (Success => -6 damage to all strikes. Crit Success => no attacks, wasted actions) Fort DC 23 [Hero Point] Fort DC 23 Will DC 30 [Note: Looks like a Mythweaver bug. Hero Point Fort Reroll shows up correctly as a 36 (below the post where rolls are listed), but here inline, it's just displaying the same nat-1.]
  3. I wouldn't bet against Kyros! In the meantime, nice time for a nat-20 ... maybe Garion will live to see another day? Dare to dream ... (appropriately in the Dreamgate)
  4. When the group suggests speaking with the hag, Garion volunteers and cautiously steps forward to the edge of the hallway and peeks inside. Holding his , he raises his hands in a non-threatening manner and says, "Greetings. I'm Garion. My friends and I are just passing through. We mean no harm ..." he quickly adds, "... unlike that tree in the next room. Be careful with it!" Indicating his flask, the little gnome asks, "Would you care to join me for a drink? Best ale in Breachill." Gazing at the nightmare, Garion adds, "That's a fine steed you have there. Does she have a name?" He stands bravely, sincerely hoping he doesn't need a medic very shortly. Diplomacy to Make Impression w Jug
  5. In spite of what it may seem to the newcomers, Garion does not have a death wish. After learning about the hag and nightmare from Kuz'Arak and Nalah, Garion is happy to backpeddle to the shrine with Nalah.
  6. While Kuz'Arak tends to his wounds, Garion spends the time in silent prayer to Desna. Garion refocuses to regain 2 focus points over 20mins. Peering into the next room, he sees the horse and the crone. Society DC 24 He studies the old woman. "Hmm...she seems familiar, but..." Garion is too distraught over the shrine to concentrate.
  7. When Nalah declines Garion's healing, he turns to Drasil beside him, "How about a second helping, my friend?" Garion reaches up to touch the tall elf again. Drasil heals 30hp. Cost: 1 focus point. Note: Garion performs 2 LoH's on Drasil, for a total of 60hp recovered. Garion laughs at Hamaar's question, and grins, "Ahh, my new friend. A gentleman never tells." The gnome adds, "But if it's any consolation, you're much better looking. But if that gets back to him, I'll deny it!" Before the group leaves the room, and since Garion is near the base of the tree, he examines the stone beds beneath it. After the group moves back to the safety of the former shrine, Garion informs the newcomers (as if reading Hamaar's mind), "Wise Kuz'Arak typically handles both magical and non-magical healing." Still injured, Garion looks expectantly to the druid. While being tended to in Desna's not-so-desecrated shrine, Garion prays and refocuses.
  8. Looks like Garion's revised turn crossed with Dax. But Garion moved in and healed Drasil. If Kuz'Arak doesn't speak Goblin (in order to get the warg to behave), remember we all speak Abyssal for 1 hour, so if they just need a common language to avoid the -4 penalty....
  9. [Note: With Kyros disabling the hazard, Garion will go to plan B of his previous post, instead of casting Lightning Bolt.] Waiting in the hallway, Garion feels the warmth of healing from their new dwarven companion. "Thanks Hamaar. This brings back fond memories of when Tum used to join us on these outings." Garion considers sending a Lightning Bolt at the tree, but ... when Kyros makes the Whomping Willow stop whomping, Garion rushes in to help Drasil with his own healing touch. Drasil heals 30hp. Cost: 1 focus point. He calls out to Nalah, "Wanna make your way over here for some healing?" After a short pause, he turns to Kuz'Arak, "Maybe set up one of your medical wards?" He rubs his remaining bruises. "That tree punched hard. For a tree." Actions ◆ Stride, ◆ Lay on Hands (Drasil) If we're out of rounds (or in Rd 3), Garion will also offer to Lay Hands on Nalah, before any Treat Wounds activities. If Kuz'Arak performs some healing, Garion will Refocus while being treated.
  10. [Round 1] ◆ Escape, ◆ Time Jump, ◆ Guidance Kyros -- as a reminder, you have Guidance for a check in Round 2 (presumably Thievery to disable the hazard), but whatever you want to use it for. [Round 2] ◇ Delay (for Kyros to disable the hazard), ◆◆ Lightning Bolt (5th rank), ◆ Interact (retrieve scroll) From Garion's Round 2 post: [Delay for Kyros.] If the tree stops moving, Garion cautiously returns to the room to offer healing in the form of Lay on Hands. If the tree still has Nalah grabbed, Garion chants "blanched branch" and sends a at the tree, focusing on the branch grabbing Nalah.
  11. Dax -- Just to be clear about Garion's turn, he delayed for Kyros in case he could disable the hazard. If disabled, no reason for Garion to spend a 5th rank spell slot when there's no longer a threat. So hopefully Garion's turn can be adjusted IF necessary. Thanks for considering that. Dohjoe -- There are a few ways to hide OOC text, but I use the "Spoiler" code by clicking the icon underneath the "Bold" icon (left side of header). Once you click, you can double click on "Show This" to edit the label text. Then you can add spoiler stuff below.
  12. To everyone's surprise, the little gnome (with little to no upper body strength) managed to escape the tree-hugger, and make it safely to the hallway. "Now if everyone can just follow my lead..." Will Save DC 31 He tries to fight off some very vivid dreams, as he waits to see if Kyros is successful. Alas, Desna's shrine took a lot out of him, and he's less prepared than he thought. [Delay for Kyros.] If the tree stops moving, Garion cautiously returns to the room to offer healing in the form of Lay on Hands. If the tree still has Nalah grabbed, Garion chants "blanched branch" and sends a at the tree, focusing on the branch grabbing Nalah. Lightning Bolt +Dang Sorcery [Tree/Branch needs a Basic Reflex, DC 27. (Can we focus on specific branches, or are attacks to the entire tree?)] Lastly, Garion reaches into his bandolier to retrieve a scroll, just in case. Actions ◇ Delay (for Kyros to disable the hazard), ◆◆ Lightning Bolt (5th rand), ◆ Interact (retrieve scroll)
  13. [Round 1] When help doesn't quite arrive in a timely manner, Garion tries to wriggle free. Acrobatics to Escape If he's free of the tree, he chants, "flee tree", and casts to effectively teleport away. Then, from a safe distance, he casts on Kyros to aid the tiefling in his attempt to stop the madness. Kyros has a +1 on an upcoming Thievery (or any other) check. [Round 2] Garion delays until he's free (either on his own in Rd 1 or with help in Rd 2). Actions [Round 1] ◆ Escape, ◆ Time Jump, ◆ Guidance [Round 2] ◇ Delay (to find out if/when he's free)
  14. Garion is a little disappointed, but not at all surprised, that his puppydog eyes have no effect on the hazard. Honestly, what did he expect from a stately marble tree? He uses his reaction on the tree's turn (to no avail), and regains a new reaction on his turn. While getting the life squeezed out of him, he considers escaping ... until he sees Kyros and Nalah coming to his rescue. He decides to wait. Garion delays for everyone else, and will jump in before the hazard's turn.
  15. Not sure what "removed from Remaster" has to do with anything. Anything not re-written with the same name is still valid for PFS, is it not? Yes, it's a reaction, and we're clearly in combat. The trigger states: "You are attacked by a creature that you haven't yet acted hostile toward." Check. Maybe it's best to encourage folks to use cool feats their characters have, and leave the GM'ing to Dax.
