  1. "Bullshit," spits Voz. "The Hellknights abandoned this place years ago. Who are you really?" She slowly walks around, trying to find where Syhlas' voice is coming from - but she has little success.
  2. The dragon doesn't respond, but Voz's head snaps around. "Draconic?" she says - she recognizes the language, but she does not understand it. Seeing nothing besides her own servant (which she knows cannot speak) she frowns thoughtfully, but then quickly casts Detect Magic. "...ah, I have invisible guests... who are you? What do you want?" As Syhlas finishes his inspection of the room, he concludes that clearing the blocked stairways would take multiple days worth of work. The double doors are very firmly closed and locked, and if he touches them, they seem to forcefully push back against him - some kind of magical seal, perhaps?
  3. Talus DeVale HP: 33/30 AC: 19 Perception +8 Fort +7Pie Ref +7 Will +10 Talus silently agrees with Rezzik. Ealdred and the others are strong, but they can't hold this position forever. For now, though, he conjures another spout of water to batter the soldier who is engaged with Ragna. When the soldier goes down, he falls back just a bit and allows himself a little self-satisfied nod. Actions cast Spout on the soldier beside Ragna Step to the northeast
  4. "I smell much magic in here," Verjigorm thinks to Vharag, using their connection to communicate silently. "On the elf gates, yes, but also on the she-elf. Protective magic. She is ready for a fight." As he looks through Verjigorm's eyes, Vharag can also identify the pile of bones. These aren't just some random remains, it's a whole skeleton - the skeleton of a very young dragon. "Bronze wyrmling. Long dead," notes Verjigorm. "I smell her magic upon it. Its shell is now her servant." Syhlas isn't aware of the skeleton until it suddenly lifts its head, looking around as if it hears something. Voz, however, doesn't seem to notice that anything is amiss.
  5. Talus DeVale HP: 33/30 AC: 19 Perception +8 Fort +7Pie Ref +7 Will +10 Though not exactly eager to join the front line, Talus stays close to the others. He points at one of the hobgoblin soldiers, and a sudden blast of groundwater shoots up at him. Actions Stride - 1 northwest, 1 west Spout - targeting the soldier who is adjacent to Ragna. basic Reflex, DC 18
  6. "Someone should keep an eye on the little dragon," Renali agrees. "Go get 'em." She casts the invisibility spell on Syhlas. Syhlas proceeds through the ruined complex and into a large, circular chamber whose walls and domed ceiling are elegantly carved with spiraling designs. To the north, a squared-off column protrudes from the wall, creating an alcove of sorts which is guarded by a sturdy-looking double door. To the south, an open archway leads to a stairwell that's been blocked by rubble. In the center of the room stand six statues of elves, all facing outward and arrayed around a dry fountain. Empty benches sit in four alcoves to the east and west, nestled between six stone archways built into the wall. Each of these archways bears a different type of decor, but with the exception of the northeastern archway (which is partially collapsed and opens into a ruined chamber beyond), each archway leads nowhere - they are filled with plain, featureless walls of polished stone. Standing near one of the archways - seemingly studying it - is a well-dressed half-elf woman, who Syhlas recognizes as . Recent events have left her a bit bedraggled, but she still looks quite calm and composed, though she seems deeply fascinated by the doorway. A pile of bones lay at her feet. ( please roll Stealth with advantage, and please roll Arcana)
  7. Lavina - shaken HP: 58/58 Stamina: 63/63 Resolve: 9/10 EAC/KAC: 18/18 Fort +5, Reflex +8, Will +12 "Are we getting out of here? Let's get out of here." Lavina also moves to the lift.
  8. Flick HP: 30/30 AC: 17 Perception +7 Fort +7 Ref +7 Will +7 When she mentions the mountain ranges, Flick becomes very alert. "Oh? That's not far from where my tribe lives... I hope they're okay, too..." "I'm Flick of the Whiteclaw tribe," he introduces himself. "Count me in."
  9. Thura - fatigued HP: 44/44 AC: 17 Perception +9 Fort +7 Ref +7 Will +11 Thura just shrugs at Sorena and says "You have been helpful to us, so I shall be helpful to you." "...now, why was that statue attacking us..." she frowns. Was that one of the Magaambya's defenses run amok, or something else? But, with no answer for that, she turns her attention to aiding any others who are wounded.
  10. Liam HP: 18/18 AC: 18 Perception +5 Fort +7 Ref +6 Will +5 Liam was born and raised here. Some would say he is an unfortunate soul, but he's never seen it that way. Despite being sheltered by his family, he has always understood this city in an odd, intuitive way - and now that he's no longer sheltered, he has adapted to his new lifestyle quite well. There was an... adjustment periodfeel free to imagine several brief flashbacks of Liam getting conned, mugged, etc., but now, things are looking up. The young swordsman wears an air of confidence as he strides into Procan's temple and bows his head to those who are already gathered. "Greetings, my name is Liam."
  11. "Belmazog is a person, not a place," says Renali. "They're one of the cult's leaders on the other side. I don't know much about them, but I know they're extremely dangerous." Analyzing the arrowhead, Vharag can sense that it has great dormant power - but he can also tell that it's just one part of a greater whole. After all, what is a key without a door to open? "The Ring is just up ahead," says Renali. "I don't know anything about Voz, so..." "I will see what the she-elf is up to," hisses Verjigorm. "Spider woman, cast your invisibility spell on me." Renali briefly hesitates, but then nods and casts the spell. Verjigorm disappears, but Vharag can still sense its location as it flies into the next room. Through his familiar's eyes, Vharag can see what seems to have once been a small complex of rooms. Some ancient catastrophe seems to have melted the walls in places, leaving behind a half-demolished complex. In the few places where the walls are still intact, delicate carvings indicate that whoever once built these rooms was a skilled artisan. Far to the southwest, a partially melted stone archway opens into a larger room. "...anyone gonna go with him?" asks Renali. "I can cast the spell one more time."
  12. I think I'm saving my money for now.
  13. Talus DeVale HP: 34/30 AC: 19 Perception +8 Fort +7Pie Ref +7 Will +10 "Here they come..." Talus stiffens up. He knows more people need help... but now, that includes everyone here. With his friends in the fray, he sees no choice but to move in and support them. He takes a deep breath, then strides forward and calls forth the last big spell he has. Without warning, a tree sprouts up beside Ealdred, and he calls out "Gather around the tree!" ...of course, he has little doubt that the hobgoblins can understand him, but there's no way around it. Unless one of them is familiar with primal magic, they probably won't understand this spell until it's already done its work. Actions Stride - 4 west, 1 southwest , directly to the east of Ealdred - Hero Point to increase range
  14. Sensing Arionne's tension, Renali says "Hey, you can have this if you don't trust me with it." She shrugs and offers the key to Arionne. "I just want to go home. But there are others who will want it... sounds like your 'Voz' is one of them, and I bet she's waiting for us at the Ring itself. We better tread carefully."
  15. Flick HP: 30/30 AC: 17 Perception +7 Fort +7 Ref +7 Will +7 "...yeah," Flick says with some reluctance. "If we can help them, I think we should."
  16. Malarunk howls as his fur and flesh burn, filling the room with a very unpleasant smell. "Ha... hah... Belmazog will avenge me..." he rasps as he falls. As you all catch your breath, Renali searches his body. "This is a powerful weapon," she notes, but she seems more interested in a smaller item: . "Here it is. This is the key to Huntergate."
  17. Talus DeVale HP: 34/30 AC: 19 Perception +8 Fort +7Pie Ref +7 Will +10 Since the current wave of enemies is mostly taken care of, Talus moves onto the bridge and just tries to get ready for whatever happens next. Actions Stride x2 - end movement on the bridge, directly north of the crate Take Cover
  18. Most of what Phntm said is correct. PbP PF2e simply suffers from the same woes every PbP game does. C'est la vie and all that. While I agree that Pathbuilder is absolutely worth the $5 it costs, I think it's no less "necessary" for building a character than D&D Beyond is for building a 5e character - i.e., it's very helpful, but you can live without it.
  19. since it's primal magic, let's see what Thura knows...
  20. Lavina - shaken HP: 58/58 Stamina: 63/63 Resolve: 9/10 EAC/KAC: 18/18 Fort +5, Reflex +8, Will +12 Lavina moves to flank with Dmerilo and takes a swipe at the jangly man.
  21. Can a kobold even ride a horse? I might need something smaller. XD
  22. Syhlas lands a hit with his shortsword. Malarunk is bloodied, but still on his feet. Renali shifts back to her human form to help Baldric. Round 6 cont'd. Renali Change Shape Battle Medicine on Baldric (map unchanged)
  23. Most of your atacks miss, though one of Arionne's does clip the charau-ka. "Shut up, elf!" he growls at Baldric. His rage is almost palpable, and he channels that rage into another storm of void energy. Round 6 Malarunk Harm vs everyoneexcept Renali - basic Fortitude save, DC 23 Party turn. Map
  24. Yeah, my vote's for the missing expedition.
