  1. As the party organizes themselves, the ship is rocked by another explosion. There is a high pitched whining sound from below and the controls go dead. Kelly sees a tiny glowing orb emerge from the heat distortion and fly past his sensor and his vision goes white. Gradually his vision returns and there is more fire The party is up!
  2. "Oh well, I'm the boss but I am also The Boss. It's just sort of necessary to stomp you into little puddles of goo. It's what I do. Why does a painter paint? You might consider me an artist in homicide. Of course it would be ever so much easier if you come at me one at a time rather than gang up on me in such an unsportsmanlike way. I'd appreciate it if you formed a line. I promise to raise you as Skeleguys afterwards, if that is any consolation. I need to replace any that you destroyed on your way in, after all." "Well of course you're trespassers. I live here, you do not, ipso facto, you are trespassing. As for being dead, that's terribly inconvenient. Would you like to be dead? I don't think so.   3. Sunna attacks but hits only shadows Sabrael casts Glitterdust, revealing one Demon Quake takes an AoO for 13 damage and does 55 damage to Demon. It dies. Shadow Demon 2 bites and claws Archon, Archon dies. SD takes 5' step as it claws Sunna for 4 Damage. Shadow Demon 3 takes 5' step to flank Sunna and full attacks. She takes 27 points of damage. The party is up!
  4. Kelly can see that the aft lower deck is on fire with one of the doorways blown open. He is also able to see a hazy shimmering heat distortion just outside the ship. He's not sure but he has a hunch that it's humanoid in shape. (As per the invisible creature rules).
  5. Having completed the sidequest, the party ventures deeper into the graveyard which is still shrouded in mists. Here, crows can be seen in the trees expectantly waiting to see what will happen.. and if there will be a meal available soon. They encounter other small groups of skelemen that are easily defeated and the group gets into the rhythm of combat as their experience pools slowly start to fill. The party comes to a horrifying edifice. There is a mound built of bones with a post sticking out of it. It is shrouded in gore Diablo style and a large skull sits atop it, grinning at them in the way that only a skull can. A glowing arcane circle rings the mound casting an eerie blue light on the area. As the party approaches, the pile of bones swirls and coalesces into a large skeleman which grabs the skull and plunks it atop it's shoulders. The title floating above it's head reads 'Malkaban - Skeleboss'. "Trespassers! I will seal your doom!" The party may act first! There are three zones in a line. The zone the party is in, an empty zone in the middle and the zone the boss is in.
  6. Luce vanishes and moves out of the saloon as the wights stream out after her. They spread out looking for signs of her (double moves) but Eddie takes his time. She hears him mutter something in another language and a shimmering bubble grows from him as he walks out the double doors and stands on the boardwalk. As the bubble washes past her, the invisibility goes down and she finds herself surrounded by wights suddenly aware of her location From the end of the town the party sees human figures pile out of the saloon and then suddenly Luce appears in their midst. DC 18 Spellcraft check to identify Invisibility Purge, a notorious cleric spell The wights have revolvers and Bowie knives and Eddie has a lever action rifle. Begin Round 2, everyone may act.
  7. Rather than wait any longer, I moved Mary's token onto the ship with the rest of the crew. Round 1: Begin! Also, the ship is on fire .
  8. The Atlas Wake is a few miles out of town. You are just returning from a milk run job, delivering a cargo shipment to a nearby encampment. It's not specifically profitable but it does earn some parts that Peggy has been needing for the ship for a little while to fix a little problem before it becomes a big problem. All in all, it's a bit break even but it did get you out of town to stretch your legs a bit. Everyone is in their usual places when there is the *Wump* sound of an explosion below decks and the smell of smoke wafts up into the air. The party has initiative!
  9. Oh right, you guys aren't on the map yet. We have 9 buildings inside the palisade wall (still under repair) including the big house and the smithy. There are 18 buildings outside the wall.

The more, the merrier. Welcome to... to the Colony I guess. We haven't come up with a name for the place yet. As I said, there's water and food. And a place to sit and dry off. No doubt you're soaked down to your nether regions. I recommend washing the salt water out of your clothes and gear as soon as you can. It's not good for lots of things." He visibly relaxes.
  12. With two skulls in bags and the others smashed a distinct change takes place around the graveyard. The mist settles into the ground, though not truly going away and the sun's rays once again shine through the branches of the trees. The sense of forboding goes away replaced with a distinct serenity. A lantern shines in the dusky shadows illuminating a grave. It is as if someone simply left it there while out visiting, possibly in haste. The name on the grave stone says "Donner". It appears as if there are two plots in front of the stone, simple mounds with wild flowers growing on them.

There is a colony of fish people called Sauagin nearby that have murdered the previous set of survivors and did some pretty vile things to them. We haven't seen them yet but it's only a matter of time." He points back to the settlement under repair, "We have clean water and some food if you need to recover from your voyage. I can't imagine you've been through any better than we have. I'm Torren, by the way. You can meet the others when you've had a rest."

He's a large man with an assortment of weapons including a great sword. His hair is long and disheveled. Keeping his eyes on the newcomers he says to Heva, not caring if the new people hear him, "It's a fish man. Is that one of these Sahuagin?"

  17. The Babau goes down under Denrag's blade. Sunna, Sabrael and Quake are up.
  18. So far we moved into an abandoned settlement and cleared out the undead. Some of the ghouls fled and are still at large. We have made contact with our lizardfolk neighbors and have an understanding of non aggression but no real treaty. It's still day 1 when we left off. Yeah, we're still working out kingdom roles. I don't think we need specific party roles. If we get enough new players we were going to split into two active groups.

Quake shifts and moves to alight on the shoulder of Archon 4 Bad guys All three Shadow demons save vs. Aura of Menace Babau 1 full attacks the Archon 1 and it dies Shadow Demon 1 charges and pounces Archon 2 doing some damage Shadow Demon 2 charges and pounces Archon 2 doing some damage Shadow Demon 3 moves to Denrag and pounces. He does 11, 8 and 11 damage (partially cold but I don't see any cold resistance on the sheet) The party is up!
  21. Reflecting on hearing the tales of the others, Thaladria realizes that she had no idea of the depth of depravity That Man existed in. It only strengthened her resolve, making that little ember of hatred in her gut burn that much brighter. She says, "I don't know what this 'fortune teller' has planned, but I will do whatever is necessary to help. Everyone has been through so much. We all need an end to this man. Maybe it shouldn't shock me how one has gotten away with so much even in Korvosa... but it does. Maybe it's because I still have some good left in me, but I feel like he is a singular evil. There's plenty I work against but it's greed, corruption, apathy... normal evils. But this man is Evil. I can't just do nothing even after coming so close to my end."
  22. The skull tries to hop away but Mercurius manages to snatch it off the ground. She stuffs it into her bag where it sulks.
  23. Both Skelemen go down in a shower of bones. There is quiet for a bit. Then the party notices that the bones are slowly crawling toward the skulls.
