  1. MG - "Jal, if you're going to Mind Trick, now's the time." (Havn't figured out how to quote from one thread to another yet sorry. ) I'm only really wanting to use this as a last resort if all else fails. I appreciate that its effect can nerf roleplay (or at least seem like it, I'm aware there is only one Jedi in the group and so powers are not exactly welcomed) and as we have a face character trying to resolve it I'm not wanting to step on the toes of that scene from resolving. Can Jal 'help' Nina's roll? and keep the mind trick as a last resort or does it need to happen simultaneously?
  2. Thanks for this post WoC, I appreciate your openness. The in game post was specifically what Jal the character would think/say IRL. He's not a kind of sheep character, being slightly face orientated himself. Although I will be honest, part of my own feelings possible shone through too. I'm all for keeping the game moving (momentum*) in whatever way that happens but I'm also not here just to play a sidekick. I'm sure none of us are. This might be because I'm more used to playing table top RPG IRL but I'm used to asking and discussion plans around pivotal game moments, for a consensus with the party, before charting a course in game. Saying all that, your game posts (and everyone else's) are excellently crafted and someone has to lead at times. So lets keep it going but some open conversation in-game or OOC about critical in-game plans in the future would be appreciated. (to be clear, no retconning is required!) *Momentum - I'll also open up and say that I'm struggling to keep track of the game. I can't check it every day and when I do it either hasn't moved (loose interest) or its moved at a great pace. It makes it difficult to keep continuity as a contributing player. As I might have been waiting for others to respond but then find things have either still not moved, or have moved so much that what I was going to do/say/contribute becomes mute. I learning that maybe this is just what PbP is like. Maybe I need to figure out a routine of checking to try and stay on top of things.

Seeing that Shade didn't quite get the whole tap the head signal, I guess he wasn't around to many Jedi during the War to see them 'persuade' people who were in their way. Yes Shade, as I said I'm all for talking this out first, I'm sure we can get her to speed off towards an easier target. I'd rather we draw attention on our terms, not someone else's. Either way, we should have a signal in case negotiations go south and we strike first, any ideas?"

But remember the Empire are here even if not close by and I for one don't want to get on their radar so soon."
  5. The reason I mention mind trick was because its specifically states the follow "You make an otherwise unpalatable suggestion seem completely reasonable to the target. You must be able to communicate with the target, and the suggestion can't obviously threaten the target's life. The target won't realize later that what they did is unacceptable" However I appreciate the mechanic of a roll during downtime. Roll below. Persuade the quartermaster Persuade the Quartermaster roll sorry the second roll didn't show up until I did the third roll 😒

Nodding and agreeing with the good questions being asked to keep up the pretense of being engaged with the conversation at hand to any one watching them.

Addressing Nina separately in a side quiet voice "He also sounds a bit cracked... I'm not sure I believe him, but at least we can do is not draw too much attention to ourselves.   8. Do I have to bribe? Could I try mind trick him to improve his attitude enough that I don't need to bribe? Also maybe I could sweeten the deal and ask if there is something he wants from on-world that he can't get himself? Thanks MG, yes I'm trying to keep them as clothes as that will avoid the save bonus switching to being from armor. I don't want the look of armor. Jal wears the standard space suit with jedi robes over the top. I was looking at modifying the jedi robes, possibly having it in a high up hidden pocket behind my neck so that when it springs I can catch the saber in the air above my head and activate it. Like having an over the shoulder sword sheath but hidden, spring loaded and for a lightsaber haha. I'll check over the rules again with your explanation above. So if the robes have one slot to begin with then I might have to add one additional slot for the spring loading... Maybe the clothes are modified with a stylish back motif that incorporates a small harder material shell at the back neck area which hides the compartment and mechanism... shrug!

As his master wanted to be able to talk in his native language from time to time he made Jal learn it and it came in handy during the war. Occasionally it was fun to try to confuse the hell out of droids who heard countermanding orders radioed at them on the battlefield in their master’s tongue. During the trip, Jal felt more at ease with the group so he just wore his eye wraps on board around them and only put his visor on when they were planet side. The sensations and smells of this run down world was ‘eye opening’ for Jal. Another planet ravaged by war and then ruin and poverty sets in. A wave of feeling crested inside him out of pity and shame but was calmly acknowledged and left to drift past without crashing into him. As the beggar shuffled up, Jal passed his sense over him while keeping alert to the wider street, and without directly facing the old man, Jal says in local nemodian just loud enough for the group and no farther, “If you are Nute Gunray, then I’m Wookiee. You don’t even look like him. I doubt you even know anything of value!?”
  10. In terms of gear, is it possible to add an additional upgrade slots to my hooded robes? Not sure if 'clothes' have slots? I was thinking that its probably a good idea to try and hide my lightsaber in case I'm searched at some point. I was looking at the upgrades and found: secret compartment, spring loaded and environmental sealing. Although each take a slot. Thoughts? Also if I ask Remy to improve its armor rating (Fort) would that make it armor rather than clothes from now on?

  12. The Destruction and Rescue Destinies are now active for 24 hours. Both Destinies grant a +2 Destiny bonus on damage rolls to self and allies, so Tetra, Jal, and Shade all give off a 10' radius of bonus damage. They are the same bonus and so cannot stack. Damn shame they can't stack - combat would be pretty fun!
  13. Just had a look at these, Jal might have a talk with Remy soon :) Can he also sort out slots and upgrades - wondering if an upgraded and specialised Jedi robe could be done?

Maybe the old man isn't used to 'free-thinkers', no he's used to blind obedience, that much is clear. Caught between an urge to push the man further to see what happens and thinking about the current mission, Jal ends up staying quiet.
  16. Shopping: - are concussion grenades available to buy? - are there special belts which can hold a number of them? (cant find one) - Are their items which give you bonuses to computer hacks? (just in case Remy isn't around when we need one) Any suggestions from the pros on what else to spend my credits on?

Noting everyone present he gives each of them a once over. Interesting how they have all changed slightly in the last three weeks on board the ship. Defenses lowered, attitudes moderated, comradery increased, it was new to him, and still not quite comfortable. He was glad things had been straightened out and things aired between him and Shade. The ex-trooper had found him on his way to his favorite out of the way storage rooms for one of his private practices. Not the easiest conversation in the world, knocking down ingrained and irrational feelings was going to take time but it was a good start. Jal didn't get that itchy feeling between his shoulder blades when Shade looked at him any more. An almost freeing feeling as it was good to chat more normally afterwards with a clone, experiencing some 'old times' vibes from when he hung around the soldiers during the war with his master. While he wasn't fully comfortable taking a mission from this ex-admiral, he had to put his trust in Bail Organa and that he knew what he was doing. Obviously Gilder had been cleared. Jal also wasn't too comfortable with this mission, sweet talking a Hutt wasn't quite what he thought this gig would be about but he could see the logic and benefits. Although having had to rely on being unnoticed and underhanded for the last few years, he felt he could fit in on this type of mission quite well. Intrigued by the destination Jal asked a few general questions about what they were likely to face on the planet now post rise of the empire. He had heard much through Jedi channels about the war efforts there being difficult but thankfully never having the pleasure of visiting. "Are we being given any kind of back story with a way into an audience with the Hutt or are we just expected to create that situation for ourselves? Do we even know where he is set up?" "If the latter, do we have any intel on the Hutt and his other operations that could help us plan some sort of coincidental meeting?" "I'm wondering if he needs management or protection for his various enterprises and if we can ingratiate ourselves maybe an easy way in given our groups complement." "Are there any other contacts of ours on the planet that we should be aware of, either to avoid or in case of emergency?"
