  1. Hey bud, welcome to MWers!

Your UserCP link is your hub to your game activities. You should have an invitation to the game waiting for you. Make sure to use the Help link at the top as well at going to the Introductions thread on the main forum page as well!

  2. Heya Save!

i am slowly creeping back in to MWers and wanted to know if you had a line on a Shadowrun opening...no annoying, crappy dialect experiments either, swear!

  3. That sucks, bro. At least you are still gainfully employed however. The changes do not reach the service departments so I am good still; until I quit that is.
  4. I just sat down with my GM. The senior positions are being eliminated. I will have to take a dollar an hour pay cut or leave. My new pay rate will be at the cap for the position. My hours will go down from the high 30s to the low 30s. If I choose to leave, I get a 6 week severance package followed by 6 weeks of cobra. I knew this was coming but it still feels wierd.
  5. So what I meant to say was that Vias met an unfortunate accitent and was eaten by wallrus people while on a strange mission to icereach.
  6. Heeeeeeeeeeeeeey budy.
  7. Yes I did give you homework via PM. Mmwwwooooohahahahahaha! Also, I would like to know how much time Vias is going to study each book. That could give me a good idea of where to take things from here.
  8. check this out [thread=61445]What really happened[/thread]
  9. Sounds like we are on the same page. All I am saying is that the NPCs you use for the campaign do not have to be characters from the novels. I know that you will not stray from the timeline and the major comings and goings of the times, I just don't think that every person I run in to has to be a figure from the literature. Also, just because things are going on in certain places of Ansalon does not mean that other things aren't happening else where. Basically, you can come up with your own interpretations and events that do not take place in areas where you have read stories and invent a totally original scenario with totally original characters and it would not be contradictory to the DL timeline.

ephing posted this on my visitor page...i am an idiot...

  11. Ok, don't get me wrong. I'm not planning on copying the content in the books, but I do want to be true to the content. For instance, if you were campaigning durring the time of the last Kingpriest, I would probably have you take part in the Lost Battles between the Kingpriest's forces and the wizards because that would dominate the efferts of the orders at that time. If you were campaigning durring the war of the lance, I probably wouldn't have you establish diplomatic ties with the leader of Neraka because it was overrunn with the Dark Queen's legions and being used as a military base. That's what I mean by being true to the books. I think that if I try to stray too far from the events in the timeline, then it ceases to be a dragonlance campaign. But, you are right. I can create several NPCs and still have things work.
  12. also, if you want a quick way to create NPCs, take a look here @ MW under Site Tools (above). Choose race, level, alignment, sex, level and make sure to check the box 'Show NPC Motivation' then generate however many you want. This could be a great way for you to get names, a basis for motivations and spell lists generated already...take a look
  13. not at all...I am hoping that you start to venture out away from the books. the only one who will really know if you are being 'true' to the books is you. I think that the book content is quite limiting in some regards....it will never help you grow as a DM if you just use other people's material all of the time. Also, there are hundreds of thousands of other people that are never mentioned in the DL books which could have an impact of Vyas' life...the only reason they aren't in any of the books is because Vyas isn't either.

I was really hoping that you would create your own unique NPCs..ESPECIALLY when it comes to those wizards/renegade hunters that I will be in regular contact with. Use your awesomeness to create some personalities/appearances/etc and bring some new people to life.

  14. So, are you going to be pissed if I don't put you in contact with actual characters from the books? Because I'm having a tough time finding enough wizards. The only reason I ask is because I really want to be true to the books as much as I can.
