  1. Raaol Raol Whiskerdust Mew Warlock 5 AC: 18 (Breastplate and shield) | HP: 48/48 | Initiative: +2 | Passive Perception: 10 Spell Slots: 2/2 | Spell Attack: +7 | Spell DC: 15 | Inspiration: 0 | Raaol's keen ears catch snippets of the various conversations swirling around the Singing Lute, the eclectic mix of patrons providing a colorful backdrop to the lazy afternoon. He listens with mild interest as Rush discusses his recent adventures, the tales of daring escapades and stormy seas painting vivid images in his mind. Thordal's gruff voice adds a touch of earthiness to the conversation, contrasting with Rush's more flamboyant demeanor. As the discussion shifts to the strange objects falling from the sky, Raaol can't help but feel a twinge of curiosity. His eyes flicker towards the open waters, where the last remnants of Chionthar fog dissipate, revealing the glittering expanse of the sea. The mention of magic flying rocks piques his interest, but he knows better than to entertain such dangerous ideas. Turning his attention back to his own table, Raaol takes a moment to survey the motley crew of adventurers gathered around him. Celsior, with his regal bearing and air of authority, commands attention effortlessly. Yahs, with her unusual appearance and enigmatic aura, exudes an air of mystery that intrigues Raaol. Then there's Steve, the thri-kreen musician whose constant playing adds a surreal soundtrack to the scene. Raaol finds himself drawn to the exotic creature, his curiosity piqued by Steve's telepathic communication and mysterious background. As the conversation flows around him, Raaol can't shake the feeling that something momentous is on the horizon. The falling stars, the whispered rumors of hidden treasures, the cryptic messages from distant worlds—all of it hints at a greater destiny awaiting them all. He's purring while sipping his whiskey and cleaning his mean looking pistol - a piece that is quite a contrast of his fine feline features - satisfied to have chosen this day to procrastinate the hunt for his arch nemesis, captivated by the unusual patron that settled in his favorite tap house. A faint smile graced his lips, a glimmer of fond remembrance in his eyes. "The Caliphate of Ekbir," he began, his voice carrying a soft cadence that echoed the ancient whispers of the desert winds, "is a land of profound contrasts—a tapestry woven from the sands of time and the boundless expanse of the sky. Its deserts stretch endlessly beneath a canopy of stars, where silence reigns supreme save for the whispered secrets of the shifting sands and the hushed whispers of the wind. In this silence there is peace, but in the peace there is the dangers of the his cruel heat and the scarcity of sustenance." He spoke with reverence, his words painting a vivid portrait of the desert's austere beauty and treacherous allure. "Yet, in the heart of this harsh but beautifully silent landscape, there lies a delicate balance—a dance of elements as capricious as the desert itself. On rare occasions, the wind becomes a tempest, stirring the sands into a frenzied frenzy that blinds the eye and chokes the breath. But amidst the deadly silence and occasional chaos, there are treasures to be found—lush oases that bloom with life and water, offering respite from the unforgiving embrace of the cruel elements." Razig's expression softened, his reverence for his homeland evident in every word. "In the cities and temples of the Caliphate, one finds oases of learning and enlightenment—bastions of knowledge that illuminate the path of the seeker. Our libraries are sacred repositories of wisdom, housing tomes and manuscripts that whisper the echoes of bygone eras. Yet, it is not merely the written word that defines us, but the spirit of inquiry and discovery that permeates our culture." He paused, his gaze returning to Minerva with a quiet intensity. "I was fortunate to have a master who imparted to me the wisdom of our Baklunish heritage—a legacy of poetry, philosophy, esotericism, and scientific inquiry. Through his guidance, I learned the patience and discipline to cultivate my mind and soul amidst the sands of enlightenment." Turning his attention back to the present moment, Razig offered a respectful nod to Minerva. "Should fortune and understanding blossom from our encounter, Minerva Hecate, I would be honored to guide you through the hallowed halls of our libraries and share the wisdom of our scholars as soon as I'm done with the purpose of my presence in these lands. Until then, let us focus on the task at hand, for it seems fate has woven our destinies together for a purpose yet unknown."
  4. Hey! Thanks for the help there. I have only one concern about the suggested weapon: Hellfire flamer come from the Omega Vault of the Deathwatch in the Jerico sector, which like many things that come from there, have unknown (or cryptic at best) origins. We practically have no data if it is lore friendly with the time of the Crusades, so I would need the DM ruling to know if it is okay to get one. Otherwise, I'm also eyeing phosphex weapons as a possible choices...

Despite the merchant's persistent prying, Razig found solace in the steady rhythm of the sea, his thoughts drifting to the arid expanses of his desert upbringing and the unwavering pursuit of justice that now consumed him. During the voyage, Razig maintained a solitary demeanor, immersing himself in quiet meditation and honing his martial prowess, envisioning each strike as a calculated act of retribution against his mentor's murderer. His quest transcended mere vengeance; it was a solemn duty to restore balance and administer justice in the face of cruelty. The ship's journey unfolded without incident, save for the occasional glimpse of distant shores and the whispering serenade of the wind through the sails. Upon docking in Port Torvin, Razig disembarked with a resolute purpose, his gaze sweeping over the bustling harbor and labyrinthine streets that sprawled before him. The salty tang of the sea mingled with the cacophony of voices, each clamoring for attention amidst the vibrant tapestry of the port city. As he delved deeper into the heart of Port Torvin, Razig observed the diverse tapestry of life—merchants bartering wares, sailors repairing sails, and beggars seeking solace in the shadows. Though far from the arid sands of his homeland, Razig felt a silent kinship with the resilience of those who called Port Torvin home. Two days elapsed in a whirlwind of exploration and introspection, as Razig acquainted himself with the ebb and flow of city life and pursued leads regarding his master's assailant. Along the way, he encountered unexpected trials, such as a deft pickpocket relieving him of his coin purse—a reminder of the harsh realities of urban existence. Though wealth held little sway over his aspirations, Razig recognized the necessity of securing employment to sustain himself in this bustling metropolis. Rumors of the high priest's call for experienced adventurers reached Razig's ears, prompting him to set aside his personal vendetta momentarily in favor of the promise of gainful employment. With measured steps, he made his way towards the temple, his heart echoing the rhythm of the waves crashing against the shore. As he approached the temple's hallowed threshold, Razig beheld a motley assembly of individuals already gathered—a human woman cloaked in crimson, a rugged swordsman exuding quiet confidence, and a pair of acrobats spinning tales with practiced charm. Each bore the weight of their own burdens, their paths converging in this pivotal moment of shared purpose. With a respectful nod to those assembled, Razig stepped forward, his presence a testament to the solemnity of his resolve. While his interactions with the outside world had been limited as a recluse monk, his master's teachings in etiquette and demeanor now served him well. "Greetings fellow seekers," he began, his voice imbued with a calm authority. "I am Razig Al'Jabar, humble adventurer and Fist of Zuoken from the Caliphate of Ekbir. It seems fate has brought us together on this day. Let us heed the summons of the high priest of Procan, and perhaps destiny will find us united in a worthy cause." He then briefly bowed humbly and politely to them.

  7. The limit is how armor armors are designed. At most, they are outfitted with a leather belt and/or bandolier for additional equipment, tools and clips carried because the way they are made. There is no explanation about it really in the book, so I understand the confusion. But if you go by logic of it, an Astartes armor can't have more than belt and/or a bandolier, it doesn't give much room for other things than 3-4 clips pouches, 2-3 grenades, a blade and a pistol holster. The combat webbing is providing more room to place stuff and organize your gear. The best way I can picture it is a cowboy and a military dude in full gear. The basic marine is like a cowboy: He will have his rifle, a pistol, a knife and maybe a side pouch to put cash and small items. With combat webbing, like the one of a comtemporary soldier, you can have like 6 grenades, a long range communication device, survival kit, medical kit, breaching tools, breaching charges, hydratation kit, camo webbing, gas mask and many other things even before even packing anything in a backpack. The difference is there: The webbig is an item organizer that permit a soldier to bring more stuff than his regular cowboy outfit can handle. It is more practical for long term engagement than short one, as it permit to bring more stuff, add versatility and the possibility to bring more stuff useful for many different situations. The Astartes combat weebing come with basic pouches of items, but it is specified that you can add even more if needed.

  9. Roland Weisley As Roland continued to pet the dog, he silently made a mental note to give her a proper bath as soon as possible, wrinkling his nose at the lingering smell on his hand. However, his focus shifted back to the conversation at hand, particularly Wyck's question about the mountain they were aiming to reach. Initially, Roland had dismissed the mountain as Torben's personal endeavor, but D'Artagenon's recent revelations suggested a deeper connection to their own fate. With a nod of silent respect towards Wyck, whom he now regarded as a younger yet wiser companion, Roland awaited Ragz's response to Wyck's inquiry. Perhaps the answer would provide them with a crucial piece of the puzzle they were trying to solve. In addition to Wyck's question, Roland felt compelled to inquire about Eldon Blackthorn, his former mentor who had been mentioned as being deeply implicated in the events surrounding their group. Turning his attention to D'Artagenon, Roland asked, "You mentioned that Eldon Blackthorn, my ex-mentor, was deeply implicated at some point in the events surrounding our group. Do you have more details you can share? He's the enemy I'm familiar with, and perhaps pursuing him could reveal more to us." He was absently touching his Tymora amulet as he mentionned Eldon name, as if simply mentionning it could bring them bad luck. Still he stayed steady as he awaited more info from the Half-Orc, while placing gently a piece of dried boar meat from his rations under the dog nose.
  10. Later, upon reaching their destination, their newly appointed leader brought the issue of climbing to reach the rune to the group's attention. Deidre offered her input, saying, "As for the supplies, we can temporarily store some in my magic backpack. I'll spare you the technical details of how it works, but essentially, it can hold far more than its exterior size suggests, without adding weight. That should prevent unexpected events like theft or damage while we're climbing and also eliminate the need to leave someone behind to guard our belongings. However, I'm unsure how to address the other challenges at the moment, nor Saana issue."
  11. Ah, it seems my analogy might have been a tad too cryptic. Allow me to clarify. Think of it like this: just as a skilled artisan selects the finest tools for a particular task, a leader should also be treated like one to achieve success. If one tool proves ineffective, it's only logical to try another until the desired outcome is achieved. In essence, it's all about adaptability and resource optimization. D Deidre tried to use a more cartesian speech to sway the opinion of Question, but only managed to be cryptic and a tad cringy it seems lol. The interpretation is up to you.
  12. There is a complete explaination of the combat webbing here accroding to the lore. Basically, it come with everything mentionned there, plus you can fasten more pouches/clips on it. Normally, pouches/holsters/blade sheath doesnt cost requisitions - they come with the item wheb you spend requisition on them. Webbing is just an item organizer, to optimize placement and carry more than what the normal belts/strap would allow a marine (+ some free items like medicae pouch and vox)
  13. I'll work on a list, but let be realistic here: In no way I'm playing a salamander without a flaming weapon. No frigging way O_O Vulkar love the smell of burning Xenos in the morning. (Also noon, afternoon, evening and night before bed)

Deidre O'Ceallaigh Human Artificer 5 AC: 20 (Splintmail+1 and shield) | HP: 47/47 | Initiative: +1 | Passive Perception: 13 Spell Slots: 1st 4/4, 2nd 2/2 | Spell Attack: +7 | Spell DC: 15 Misty step: 1 (1xday) | Hex: 1 (1xday) | DM Inspiration: 1/1 | Active infusion: Enhanced defense (splintmail), Duplicate item (bag of holding) Deidre slumbered peacefully throughout the night, her mind still abuzz with the intellectually stimulating conversation she had shared with Question and their companions. They had delved into a myriad of subjects, each probing the other for deeper understanding. It was a promising start to their journey, and Deidre felt a sense of satisfaction in the solid partnership that was forming among the group. As she stirred from her slumber, Deidre couldn't shake the nagging feeling that they needed to keep a watchful eye on the Gnome among them. His eccentricities were undeniable, and while she didn't anticipate any trouble, she couldn't help but feel a twinge of caution. "Best to keep a close eye on the loot," she mused to herself, casting a wary glance in the direction of their enthusiastic companion. "Stereotypes exist for a reason, especially for those missing a few screws and bolts." As they resumed their journey, Deidre found herself increasingly inundated with Question's relentless inquiries and requests for her opinion. Despite suggesting that the construct take time to meditate on their previous discussions, the questions persisted, leading Deidre to a dawning realization about the nature of her name... When Noodle spotted a glimmer on the horizon, Deidre nodded in approval as Willowveil sent his familiar to investigate. However, it was Question who brought up the need for a leader within their group, or at least someone to make final decisions in case of impasses. Deidre agreed with the notion but harbored reservations about Taborlin's suitability for the role, echoing Zelda's concerns. She glanced at her companion, silently conveying her apprehension. Yet, it was Zelda who articulated a wise perspective on the matter, Deidre decided to add her grain of salt "I concur," she chimed in, directing her words towards Question. "Optimal success requires strategic utilization of our common resources and talents on the most optimal level. If the designated leader fails to meet satisfactory results, we should keep in mind that it would be logical to reassess and delegate the accordingly to the best performances observed." Her words carried a clever undertone, tailored to resonate with the construct's analytical nature.
  15. To my sadness. I liked the augur the way it was lol
  16. For the requisition cost, please refer to the erreta online
  17. I think there is too much attachment to the stat. If you would fail in a roll because of a character flaw, just make it fail. Having a high score in a stat doesn't mean you are good at everything related to it. Like someone charismatic, very convincing could be an ugly sod and incapable of getting any women. Or someone very dextrous incapable of juggling. It is a roleplaying game. You (and the DM) are the ultimate judge of who is your character and what he can or will struggle to do.
  18. Roland Weisley Roland was startled by the sudden entrance of the kobold into their conversation, his attention snapping to Ragz with wide eyes. As the kobold spoke, Roland found himself captivated by his words, the message of companionship resonating deeply within him. Thoughts of Aly and their journey together flitted through his mind, a flicker of warmth amidst the turmoil of his thoughts. But it was Ragz's mention of the importance of the journey itself that truly struck a chord with Roland. The repetition of his own words by the kobold made him realize the internal conflict he had been grappling with. There were two sides to him, battling against each other - one filled with hope and determination, the other drowning in self-doubt and perceived failure. Why did the darker side always seem to prevail, lurking in the shadows of his mind and sapping his strength at every turn? Roland questioned inwardly, grappling with his own inner demons. Unexpectedly, it was the kobold who offered him a glimmer of comfort and insight, his words piercing through the haze of Roland's thoughts. With a humbled nod, Roland acknowledged the wisdom in Ragz's words. "You... you... you are right," he murmured softly, his voice barely above a whisper. As Ragz's presence seemed to calm him, Roland felt a sense of gratitude towards the kobold. With a gesture of openness, he invited Ragz to join him on the log, his hand gently stroking the mane of the mastiff beside him. "No, you're the weird one here," he said to the dog with a playful smile, the heaviness in his heart momentarily lifted by the unexpected camaraderie of the moment.
  19. I understand. Initially, Roland's reaction was influenced by stereotypes associated with monstrous race, but Roland placed more trust in Aly's positive reaction to them. But if you noticed he had no prior experience with deep gnomes and he reacted more rudely to Yopine during the Gnomish encounter - which Aly reprimanded him for and asked him to show more trust in people (and he trust her judgement more than his own)...
  20. I enjoy argumentative and contrarian people. So, with me, your DC to convince me is lower. But with depending how deep is the stick in the ***, you may struggle against people baddly aligned with your personality disposition. So, it is a higher charisma check DC. You see my point?
  21. Charisma is not based on the other perception of you, but what you are exuding. Even people with high charisma can be hated, for race, cultural differences, difference of morals... name it. So no, I don't think a race should impose charisma penalty because they are from elsewhere than the norm (the other way around, should a human have penalty in the underdark). In the 2nd edition of DnD, there was something called reaction modifier. The base of the test was based on other perception of your character, and you were using your modifier to beat the test. Same should be done in the 5e: the DM should put the DC higher if there is elements that goes against your character, like their racist perception, difference of morality, reputation... etc.
  22. Roland is facing some significant challenges, especially with depression weighing heavily on him. It's important to portray his struggles authentically while also highlighting the complexities of his character. Despite his strong ability scores, depression can make even the simplest tasks feel overwhelming. Like many who battle depression, Roland may have moments of optimism or energy, but they're often fleeting, overshadowed by the weight of his condition. The ongoing stressors in his life, such as the traumatic events surrounding his ''adventures'' in Waterdeep, the caravan massacres, life on the run, dragon chase and the addition of new, eccentric companions, only serve to exacerbate his mental state. Now, with the revelation that he may play a pivotal role in events beyond his comprehension, Roland's sense of hopelessness may deepen. It's crucial to show how Roland's depression affects his daily life and interactions with others. His struggles may manifest in lethargy, lack of motivation, and difficulty finding joy in activities he once enjoyed. Despite these challenges, his friendship with Aly serves as a beacon of support in an otherwise bleak landscape. Also, there is the perception of the other around him, who are seeing him very differently of who he is. Roland is a testament to what I lived before, outside of a fantasy setting of course. I struggled with depression for years, and I know how soul crushing it is - it's hard to even get off the bed in the morning, having constant low and high through the day. It change your normal behavior, for the worse, and sap all the energy you have in everything. This is why this character, despite his simplicity, is something deeply personal. But I want him to conquer his depression, to find himself through this challenge.
  23. And here a heads of on the traits I choosen for the character: Personality traits: - Charismatic: "I sway the heart of the others easier than my sword.'' - Quick witted and clever ''I have the right word and plans when needed. The rest, I trust my improvisational instinct to compensate. - Emotionally scarred: ''I've been mistreated all my life. Yet, I also caused so much misery for other people. Maybe it was really what I deserve...'' - Dutiful: ''Years as a guard taught me many things: Honor, friendship and discipline. I must held to these principles, even if they clash against everything else I learned to rely in life. In the end, I must do the right thing.'' Ideals: - Friendship. Material goods come and go. Bonds of friendship last forever. - Aspiration. I'm going to prove that I'm worthy of a better life. Bonds: - Wherever I go, I still think about the sweet tavern wench Rosiane. I wonder how she's doing... - I owe Hyustus Staget a great debt for forging me into the person I am today, and giving me a chance to become more. Flaws - I’m convinced that no one could ever fool me the way I fool others. - I’m a sucker for a pretty face. - I'm very reserved. I prefer a web of lie than talking about my true self and my true feelings. They were the one originally taken at the beginning of the game, but the character is evolving already because of people and events.
  24. Okay, let's go with Roland: Str: 16 Roland is naturally strong, and didn't need much effort in his life to develop his strength. He take pride in it. He can easily lift the side of a cart without sweating it Dex: 10 He never developped this dexterity: He never trained much into the skills requiring dexterity. He was a con artist, not a thief. His large size doesn't help too. Con: 14 Enough to be a good soldier, within city walls. Int: 12 Sharp mind, but nothing extraordinary. Wis: 12 Clever, but still prone to lack of judgement. Cha: 16 Despite his sometimes rude manners, he's a very lovable person. Not especially physically attractive (cute, but not gorgeous), but he can sway people easily if he put the effort. Was a good leader as a guard, inspiring, an artist as a manipulator (he fooled an entire corps of Watchmen after all, for years). He doesn't show his presence much so far, because he is deeply self doubting himself and relucant to use his force of personality by fear of causing harm again. It is to note that he's a fighter battlemaster, and most of his maneuvers are based on command/teamwork. Also have the inspiring leader feat, but didn't find a good moment/way to use it yet. I can't see him right now giving you inspiring speech every rest - it would feel awkward. He can, but he won't... But so far, not much has been done to let me show you the full potential of the character as a charismatic/leader kind of person. There would be a good moment, but we are not there yet - he need to kick out of the self loathing.
