  1. Ok, I need some clarification before I post.

Y'all are searching the dirt around the stairs? Or y'all went back to the well room and are searching there?

I know Mort suggested going back to the well room, but I'm unclear on if y'all did and are searching there or at the stairs.

The man sitting next to the scribe looks the halfling up and down, his interest turning to amusement. "Ah, another treasure seeker, is it?" He nods his head as if confirming his suspicions. "Well, we've no shortage of treasure seekers here in Morgansfort. You'll fit right in. You might try the Bulletin Board in the Town Square. Or the Toothless Dragon Tavern."

As the man talks he begins to scrutinize Mitzelflick with a critical eye. "You any good with those?" He asks, nodding at the halflings sword and bow. "The King's Command is always on the lookout for skilled fighters."

Following Mort and his lantern, the companions make their way back to the fork at the cave entrance. Without wasting any time, the party sets off down this second tunnel. Like the first, it is cramped with clumps of fallen rock and debris.

Mort leads the group slowly, picking his way cautiously through the clutter. After roughly 70'-feet the tunnel ends in a set of stairs. The stairs ascend 10'-feet and lead into a darkened entryway.

  4. Mitzelflick joins the procession of newly arrived passengers as they begin to make their way toward Morgansfort proper. Leaving the docks behind, you follow a narrow and winding road that eventually gives way to a wider and more maintained one. Soon, three large towers come into view, rising high into the early morning sunlight. As you get closer the outer wall comes into view, and there in the center of the wall, the Gatehouse.

As you approach the Gatehouse, you see several soldiers standing about. Two are flanking either side of the entrance. Two more are flanking a long wooden table set up outside the entrance. Sitting at the table is another soldier (this one obviously in charge, judging by his dress) and a scribe of some sort. He is bent over a ledger book scribbling away. Various bottles of ink and quills litter the table before him.

"Name, nationality, occupation?" He asks. He does so without looking up from his book.

The other man sitting at the table, the soldier, watches you with interest, but says nothing.

  5. Quickly glancing down into the well, Gemlia can see the light from Mort's lantern reflecting back at her.

There is obviously water inside the well. How far down or how deep the water may be is impossible to tell from such a quick glance.

With that, the companions turn and head out of the chamber and make their way back toward the entrance and the second tunnel...

Stepping past Mort, Gemlia squeezes through the gap between the clump of rocks and the tunnel wall. As she waits for the others to follow, the dwarf looks about sniffing at the air. The definite smell of water fills her nostrils.

As Mort steps up beside her, casting his lantern light down the tunnel, the way ahead opens up. Large clumps of rock still fill the tunnel here and there and there is a slight decline to the floor. She sees no sign that the worm as been this way.

After about 30'-feet, the tunnel opens up yet again, this time revealing a large rock and debris strewn chamber. There in the center of the chamber is what appears to be a well (8'-foot circumference). The well is obviously manmade and seems out of place inside the crude cave tunnels and chamber. The ceiling of this chamber rises to a height of 15'-feet.

To the right of the well is a large pile of dirt and debris (approximatley 20'-feet long, 10'-feet wide, several feet tall). It is set somewhat inside of a recess at the back of the chamber.

With Mort leading the way, the companions enter through the cave entrance. The cave is dark and damp. After pausing for a moment to let their eyes adjust to the cave, the companions take in their surroundings.

They find themselves in a low narrow tunnel roughly 10'-feet wide and 10'-feet tall. The tunnel is cramped with large clumps of rock and rubble. Peering through the narrow gap between the first clump of rocks and the cave wall, Mort can see that the tunnel splits into two different passageways.

OocThe 1 is the cave entrance area.

Mort is at the first clump of rocks, peering through the gap. Everyone else is behind him.

In the lantern light, Mort can just make out that the tunnel forks off into two different directions on the other side of the rock clump.

  8. @DarkisNotEvil I've already purchased the D20 Go book. Bought it several months ago. Have just now gotten around to actually starting to read it. I think your assessment is spot on from what I've read so far.

Still, I probably wouldn't mind running or playing this, just to see how it plays.

And I did also get the Z20 Go from DriveThru. Look forward to reading it after finishing with D20 Go.

  9. As his companions settle down for what remains of the night, Gray readies himself for first watch.

An uneventful two hours later, the sun begins to creep into the morning sky. Even so, the rising sun does little to penetrate the darkness of the forest. Visibility increases slightly, but not substantially.

Gray notices that even though morning is dawning, the forest still remains eerily quiet.

    OocMorning is dawning.

Nothing happens during the first two hours of Gray's watch.

    What's the next move?

  10. With Gray leading the way, the party follows the knightliest knight deeper into the forest, in the direction of where the structure was seen.

After several minutes it finally comes into view.

The structure is large mound of rocks and boulders that form a cave like dwelling roughly twelve feet high and twice that in circumference. The mound is overgrown with trees and brush. There is a opening between two of the boulders that seems to lead inside. The opening is about twice the height and width of a human sized doorway.

Inside the opening there is only darkness...
