  3. Kyle inserts the silver coins into the grid. Experimenting with removing the first one, then putting it back, along with all the others. Once all of them are in and the 15 is showing, he muses "Handy" to himself, then puts the bank cards and everything else away, ready to follow Astrid.
  4. "Yes." Kyle ponders whether these are voice activated, but he will say yes out loud and also touch to select the affirmative option if one can be seen.
  5. Success! Got two healers kits. Now I can actually use the healer feat if needed.
  6. Kelia goes with Panorin and Blueblood, making some purchases 2x healers kit 10 gp Longbow 50 gp 40 arrows 2gp 2 potions of healing 100 gp

  9. Backstory A man surrounded by spirits of the dead, who can summon a war lute. He is usually based in Sunset-in-the-East. Having found chaotic journals of someone who travelled and created songs, a lot only partially completed, Taris read the musical notations and began playing them, discovering that it uncovered some hidden talents within himself as he did so. The songs reference a lot of different places, and are signed as Abatoma, but the place most often mentioned is the Black City. Driven by curiousity, Taris travels to see if he can find out who or what Abatoma is. Whoever wrote the songs is prolific, though perhaps not a completionist, with many tantalizing fragments hinting at threads of stories only briefly touched on. Sometimes they would intertwine or unravel. Most intriguing to Taris are the ones that appear to be written as duets, or as one part of a band, though those are much rarer. Interspersed with the songs are random drawings or patterns, as if images serving as inspirations for the songs, or illustrating a particular element of a story. "Nor sunder through the spectrum of seas Wandering from the lumin trees The Great Forgetting loses ties To where the betting songs reprise Circle Sea in Rainbowlands From Communual body to Golden Desert sands Bardstones fixed, so cannot move For Long Ago they lost their groove Biomancy increased wizard arts Burdenbeasts roam far apart Art Florists complete plant work unseen The Forest of Meat for harvested protein Lacquered chaos of cubes on shore of oily ocean Patterns ignored in timeless commotion Toxic dust occasions dead fools to see Electromagnificent radiation of the Black city" Personality Creative, curious, somewhat oblivious. A bit of a daydreamer, part of his creativity involves tuning into the spirits around him and the atmosphere of an area, leaving him less alert to the other, more mundane nuances. He has studied poetry and song lyrics, as well as calligraphy. As a follower of Lady Jingxi, if she exists in this setting, he is proficient with the fighting fan and is starting to learn graphomancy, but has not mastered it yet. Taris wears a urumi as a belt, and has an enchanted agile breastplate for protection. From his studies of the obscure journals, he was able to create a variety of small magics, as well as enact works of healing, protection, destruction and teleportation.
  10. "Alright, lets go! I will follow your lead!" Kyle ensures that he has everything secure and three section staff in hand, then gets ready to follow Astrid to the site.
  11. "Oh good, a portable first aid kit!" After reading he stands in place, a little stunned. "This is the fastest I have integrated any learning!" To Astrid he calls out: "See anything interesting from up there?"
  12. Ah, that is intentional, original thought was to have people move around the big map, but tokens would be too tiny to be feasible. Partly play by post with a map heavy area is awkward, so I thought it would be easier to reference where people are going with room numbers and prevent the fog of war miscommunication from before. Only immediate monsters will be put up on the map, so there is still some discovery.
  13. Excellent thinking, you rolling for summons is good, thanks!!! 😃
  14. Armenga yells at the animated statue, "We'll crush you, turn you into gravel! Come on and take it!" Trying to turn it from Firea. She swings at it twice with her weapon, but can't hit anything. The statue falters just the barest hint of hesitantcy at Armengas words, even as it evades her attacks. Zyrel is moderately annoyed to see the statue does indeed dodge fairly well, but also pleased that the few stones that connect seem to have a surprisingly substantial effect. While it is possible the foe might evade the rain of stone entirely, it is far more likely to defend against a direct attack and said direct attack couldn't attack the creature's weakness as his spell can. Still, every bit helps and Zyrel not only repeats his spell but also fires a futile arrow at the creature. With surprising speed the creature dodges all of the stones from the scatter scree, and also the arrow fired. Since the statue, for whatever reason, does seem vulnerable to mental attacks, Joseph attempts to cripple it with a magical assault. He points at the terracotta soldier. "From the silly to the absurd, let your laughter be heard, giggle and roar as if tickled by a bird!" Mischief takes flight, swooping down over the construct, breaking away at the last second. Many feathers split away from his feathery body and continue on towards the soldier. With a technicolor flash, the feathers take on rainbow hues and life of their own, whirling around the construct and attempting to tickle it. "Blech." Joseph grunts in disgust. "I hate spells with... silly words." Mischief takes a detour to alight on Armenga's shoulder. He plucks one of his flight feathers and deftly places it behind her ear, then continues his flight back to Joseph. Armenga feels a small, cool thrum of power from the feather, her sword arm steadying ever so slightly. The statue begins laughing, and is slow to react to people around it. " More Wet Matches!! Him still mad, him seem Hangry! Take... this! " Wugo curses that closing the door is apparently not enough for this big ol' grouchy statue mans. He hustles back to where he had been. Intones and then one of his maces glows bright red/orange and zips from his hand at the foe The mace misses at the statue bats it aside. Firea coughed up a bit of blood...okay so it was a considerable amount of blood considering the large gash along her neck now. "...okay, maybe not." The words came out a bit pained. "Firea! You should retreat." Auriflamma sounds a bit alarmed at first, then his turn goes a bit more conciliatory. Firea nodded to Auriflamma. "Yeah. Just, keep firebolting him." Auriflamma simply nods, firing a firebolt at the Terracotta while Firea tactically retreats and then fires off her own Blazing Bolt. The statue evades both bolts, dodging one and deflecting the other with its shield. The creature rapidly strikes out at Armenga with its longsword, then raises its shield once more. There are the sound of footsteps from somewhere around the corner, as a red haired gnome with green eyes comes into view. Combat Everyone may now act! Ryfte can feel free to join, if you want to. Token should be in middle or lower left corner of map. Forgot the frightened debuff, should be 27 to hit on 1st attack, not 28. Armenga 12 damage. If that does not drop her, then will attack again, which results in a crit, would be 12 damage but doubled to 24 due to crit. If the initial bit drops Armenga, it will instead move closer to other people. Statue has shield raised so AC 26 currently. Statue frightened 1. Statue no reactions due to hideous laughter. 15. Sorena desperately tried to reform her defenses, feeling the lifeblood drain out of her even as she encased herself in forge iron. She did not know what was happening when the pulse of divine magic struck her, she'd rarely tasted such magics before. Yet she could feel the vigor and vitality restored to her limbs at its touch. She brought up her floating shield, only to have her summoned iron smashed to rusty shards by the massive sword. She staggered, her life flashing before her eyes, but Thura's magic had kept her alive. Blinking dully through the pain and the blood in her eyes, she did the whole thing again, reforming the shattered metal and wrapping herself in it. She wavered, but she did not fall, instead focusing her intent into another blunt strike of ferromancy. Part of the statue chips off as Sorena, inspired by the blessing by Thura and flanking with Mac, strikes into the animated creature. Mac watches in alarm as the clay guardian lays into Sorena, dealing her a heavy blow and fully expecting her to fall. But she stands tall regardless and retaliates instead! Spurred on by her success, Mac himself bashes at the statue. Then he pauses just for a moment and, instead of swinging again, intones the incantation that the glade's Leshys taught him "Baum. Fällt!" Immediately a small tree appears next to the statue, and with a series of ominous creaks, falls over on it. Mac hits the statue with his nunchucks, then summons a tree. The tree falls, and the statue does its best to dodge out of the way, but it still lands on the foot of the construct, breaking off a small part of it. Sweet Tooth saw the stress lines appear as her allies struck the statue. She aimed her knife towards them, hoping the statue would not turn its weapons on her! Hitting the weak spots proved difficult, and the thing avoided her strikes! Rather evasive and hard to hit, the statue evades attempts to hit it. Banana growls in frustration as his blows fail to make any notable impact on the statue. "This is growing frustrating..." His eyes rove over the construct, and he starts recalling the wisdom of the elder hunters. Simply overwhelming some of their prey was not an option. "If swarming and overwhelming does not work, we must dismantle it. Tear away its tools. And I know of one way to make that easier." Banana aims his next strike low, going for the legs. "Come on, everybody, let's do this for the anadi! For the Magaambaya!" His last exclamation is laced with just a hint of arcane magic, giving everyone a tiny little boost. The statue catches his staff, and uses it to unbalance Banana, causing him to fall prone. However, his words rally everyone, including the anadi, who finally realize that they have something they can do. All three of them chant and make a flinging motion at the statue. Nine darts of force fly out and strike the creature. An awkward flex of her hand sent a wave of force surging into Omalara's bow. She gave a sharp whistle and pointed to the statue. "Amosgarn, irit!" The statue was bloodless, of course, but it still had eyes. Perhaps dislodging dust would have the same effect. Two more arrows followed her companion into the fray. The first arrow strikes it in the head, toppling the statue. Thura casts another healing spell on Sorena. This one is a bit weaker, but she uses the 'momentum' of this spell to cast an offensive one against the enemy. It falls, body crackling with energy from Thuras lightning arc, shattering into pieces as it hits the ground. Combat COMBAT WON! OUT OF INITIATIVE! Sorena 23 + 1 bless with Mac flanking on the other side hits its flatfooted AC. Banana crit failed the trip attempt, thus loses balance and falls prone. 16. Ah, forgot to answer, sorry. Only notable thing is probably the stench to the southeast. Roll initiative, anyone who gets 15 or higher may post actions.
  17. "Wait... listen..." Lexandra says in a hushed tone, slowly moving closer to the door to the west [in A4]. "Something is there," she warns the others as quietly as she can, preparing her sword within her right hand as she still holds the candle in her left. Menelaus looks back east, where the smell comes from, then shrugs. Maybe it's just a midden. Um .. allow me, Menelaus mutters, then summons magical light so Lexandra can free up her left hand. Then he chants a little rhyme: Lexandra was ready, her hands steady, ready to go, at the slightest whisper of a foe. He seems rather pleased with that one. The door opens, revealing four dwarf ghouls. Combat Everyone roll initiative. Lexandra gets bardic inspiration. Initiative turn order. Ceilings throughout are fifteen feet high and flat, unless the text says otherwise. Doors. Regular doors are made of thick, sturdy oak reinforced with iron bands and fitted with iron hinges and handles. Light. The walls are lined with torch sconces, but the torches burned down long ago. Adventurers require darkvision or their own light sources to see inside. Stench. A foul stench lingers in Axeholm A1. Outer Gauntlet Axeholm’s primary entrance and exit is this defensible passage, which is blocked by a sturdy portcullis. Arrow slits are spaced along the walls and murder holes line the ceiling, enabling fortress defenders to shoot ballistas at invaders or pour boiling oil on top of them. The only remaining defenses are the portcullis and the double doors to the south, which are barred shut. A3. Eastern Bulwark This area contains seven ballistas pointed at arrow slits, a winch that raises and lowers the portcullis, and a stone staircase leading up A4. Mustering Hall This great hall has a 40-foot-high ceiling supported by four thick stone pillars. A thick layer of dust covers the flagstone floor. In the middle of each wall past the entrance is a double door. Arrow slits are set high up in the north and south walls, and a small stone balcony protrudes from the wall above the east exit, 20 feet above the floor. A17. East Hall in Ruins An earthquake that hit Axeholm triggered a ceiling collapse that left this hall in ruins. The eastern half of the hall is strewn with debris and is difficult terrain. The stench of death hangs heavy here, becoming stronger to the southeast.
  18. "Pleased to meet you Astrid! Yeah I see something with a phone icon, says something about Technologica, Arcane or Magitech. My things seem the same, as far as I can tell." He examines the three section staff he is holding suspiciously, raising his left eyebrow as Astrid states that magic is real. "Ah, thanks!" Kyle exclaims when Astrid tells him to go ahead. He startles back as she flies into the air. "Whoa! You can fly?!?!" After the initial surprise, he continues marveling at this new development for a while, then turns his attention to the items in the chest. He begins with the nylon fanny pack, examining and opening it, then securing it around himself so he can store other items in it. Kyle picks up and looks at the coins and bottles, then puts them in the fanny pack. Finally, he takes the book and begins to read it.
  19. Kanthar also looks amused, passing ten gold to the barkeep to pay for the round of drinks. "For health and glory!" He exclaims, lifting up his mug and also his holy symbol to channel energy to heal people.
  20. My apologies for being a bit quiet. Been spread a little thin lately, a lot going on. Was amused by Dakmoor announcing Kanthar is paying! 😁 Ah I need to remember to level up to 5.
  21. Go with the academy branch stuff. Maybe she was part of another cohort but they left to go on an expedition or something so she has been solo recently. Wandering the grounds, happen to come across this group fighting a statue. Half level starting wealth yep.
  22. Cool feel free to join the . 😀 Not sure on he Magic weapon question, as in, I do not know the answer. Other people can feel free to voice opinions.
