  1. Ellu’s past taught him the usefulness of being flashy as a means of influencing a mark, but that means he also understands that it’s better not to draw attention unless it serves a purpose. There’s a slight tilt to his head that his companions would find familiar, and if they happened to be looking directly at his multi-faceted eyes, the slightest, rippling spark of something electric crosses their compound surface. To strangers, it’s a brief moment of the husky faerie cracking his neck. A common gesture from a common wanderer.

Having the bent of his feet exposed made his ankles itch. At the sight of the candy and figurines, he pauses and squints. Something crackles behind his eyes as he assesses the new objects.   3. Heads up it looks like another rules update will be dropping next week. If it’s like last time, Demiplane sheets will auto-update with newest rules / text at that time. I need to remember to try and do screen caps this time so I can better compare sheet updates (my memory is awful about noticing things like that :) )

No one wanted to hear it's a stick with crystals and it sparks a lot, after all. At the tavern, Ellu shrinks a bit at the sign. Well, when in Hush... He slips his boots off, his digitigrade legs and clawed feet exposed now without obfuscation from footware. "Okay, let's find this fellow and get this done," Ellu said, drawing his cloak to draw darker shadows around his feet.

Probably not worth dwelling on. Find the arcanist, deliver the package, and find the next thing to distract from worries left unspoken. Finding a pliable ear in a new place was something Ellu was more than familiar with. He tapped Kimber on the shoulder to slow enough he could disembark, and used a practiced eye to find a lingering gaze that wasn't guarded, then deployed one of Toosum's old standard strategies for sliding into welcome. "Oh but you look familiar, at least from the stories I've heard. I think we've an old friend in common, as it were, and I'm hoping you can help me find them. Any idea where the Whitefire Arcanist is lazing about today?" ((OOC: burning a Hope to add +2 from Ellu's "We have an old friend in common" Experience on a Presence roll to try and sweet talk folks into pointing us to the Arcanist. Looks like 26 with Fear. So close to a crit... EDIT 2: Ellu's Arcane Sense class ability should confirm if the stone pilars are magical. It doesn't appear to need a roll or anything, so I think he just gets some kind of buzz whenever anyone or anything around him is magic.)) Presence with experience))
  7. It's been several years since I've been in a PbP game. Is starting new threads for ongoing campaigns the usual practice? (this is a genuine question. My working assumption was that a given adventuring party would just use the same thread until their party ended adventuring, but like I said it's been awhile).

  9. I thought it went well! Even though we sort of acted in blocks, it did feel a little looser in that I didn’t feel like I had to make sure X character acted ahead of me. I mostly tried to make sure I wasn’t just acting solo back to back and held off a bit when it seemed there were folks who hadn’t acted at all yet. One PbP wrinkle possibly related to that is I’m struggling to figure out how best to give a Help. It seems the game assumes there will be a decent amount of β€œlet me give my companion advantage,” but since I think the intent of that is to declare in the moment (before a roll result), it’s tricky to figure out. I could say β€œI’ll burn a Hope to give whoever goes next advantage,” but since the idea is you have to describe how you help that gets clunky. Tag Team will probably be similar, but since that’s session limited, I imagine we’ll hold back on that for when fights look tougher) Oh! Do we have a β€œhouse rule” for when session abilities reset? PbP had no sessions really, so I’m not really sure how to gauge that. Overall thank you and well done!

Ellu flits in an arc, not as close as Ivy, but he didn't want to chance misjudging the gap. Ellu felt a surge, the kind that made his stomach drop when it was tied to his magic. don't let this go wrong... GM has final say, but I definitely assumed "flying" included a vertical movement axis. e.g., if Ellu flies up to be Far range from enemies, and those enemies have neither a Far range attack nor the ability to fly, then they have to find other ways to either end his flight or attack at range (or pick another target). Unlike D&D, flying in Daggerheart doesn't appear to change your move speed (which I like for its simplicity), though, so you still have to make rolls to move more than Close distance with an action (and always have to roll if you move without taking an action).
  12. The previous version had a line about using it on groups of enemies. The new one seems to have omitted that, which certainly reduces one of its benefits. The line β€œif you use it as a weapon” suggests it’s supposed to have non-weapon uses, but the card doesn’t provide a lot of guidance for whether that’s difficult terrain or what.
