  1. Would a multi-tool suffice as a lock-pick set? Or could I just use a Lock-release gun and flavor it as a lockpick instead of tech? OFC moot question if I don't make the cut. :) No worries though, I won't be grumpy if ya pass on me.
  2. Ok, Kotemon is ready and Lee is nearly there. Still WIP ready.
  3. Don't stress it man, the creative process is fun! I can't tell you how many times I have flip-flopped regarding Lee's specifics.
  4. Sorry about the double point block, I meant to delete the older of the two. As for the equipment cost, the point cost was listed under equipment instead of advantage b/c of the way hero-sheet calculates the cost Sorry about the double point block, I meant to delete the older of the two. Oh sorry, I didn't type out the equipment advantage b/c the 2pp cost of the taser was listed in the pp breakdown by the hero-sheet program under equipment instead of advantages. I was also planning to have him just use his dex bonus for atk bonus for the taser. My thought is that since the taser DC is only 15 then its only going to be useful against targets that are easier to hit anyway. Really its just flavor to fit his 'nice guy but a survivor' theme, dealing with unsavory types without using lethal weapons. I might remove it actually since its awfully weak for something that takes 2pp. Good input. I'll flesh it out some more. I havn't gotten to the complications yet, I'm new to the system, but I will. :)
  5. I gotta say, you all have some great ideas. If reading the OOC is this enjoyable, I can't wait for the actual game! EDIT: Do we have a deadline for character creation? My first draft of Kotemon is ready but I haven't finalized it yet. EDIT 2: Also, as a fun note, I have been playing a Poke'mon Emerald ROM hack that replaces the pokemon with digimon and I captured a digimon that I thought was part of the Gatomon line and, happy surprise, it digivolved into Kotemon!!!
  6. Oh yea, that reminds me... What is a Jogress evolution? I read the thing but if I scratch my head anymore my scalp is gonna get raw.
  7. > Are you aiming for a samurai aesthetic specifically? Well Kotemon uses a Shinai, Yaksamon uses dual wood swords, Vicegrademon dual wields scimitars, so another weapon shift for the mega would work well. So Tactimon fits that as well. Its just the feet aren't reptile/beast so it feels like a different individual.
  8. Tactimon is a solid choice. I like him a lot more than the Gaiomon choice. I prefer sleeker designs, so the other too are just way to *busy" in their designs. The silly thing that steers me away from Tacti is that it has just normal person feet unlike the rest of the line. Plus Magnamon is awesome, but using regular Magnamon would clash horrifically. Though DiyamoMagnamon could be an interesting back-pocket choice if there's ever a golden digi-egg armor evolution moment. My preference is obvious, but I'm cool either way.
  9. I know the rules on "Fakemon" are tight, but I have a 'mon to propose. How would you feel about this guy for a Mega level? Gaiomon is currently the Mega I have in mind for the Kotemon line, but I'm not very enthused about him. DiyamoMagnamon (Alt version/reskin of Magnamon, Diyamo being a special classification for very successful Samurai).
  10. ^ Yeah, I was also wondering about this.
  11. Can we adjust our character stats later on if we realize the campaign flow is different than we expected? Perhaps narratively as the part where we begin shaping our digimon partner into a unique individual?
  12. Also, should we invest points into skills for our digimon? Do digimon even use skills?
  13. I know at first we are not building unique versions of our digimon. So a couple questions on that: 1) Should we just build our Rookie or do you need us to build the Champion too? 2) How do we build the powers for our standard 'mon? Copy what is on the wiki? Just do a single simple damaging power and one simple affliction power? Something else?

  15. Name: Lee Kindhearted, street-smart, wisecracking parkour junkie. Lee grew up in a poor foster home with little in the way of possessions or education. Lee loves his siblings and does not regret his childhood, but he does harbor resentment toward the parents that (as far as he knows) abandoned him, the callous & negligent group home managers, and the arrogantly opulent that stand back and gleefully watch people like him and his siblings suffer. Lee is also haunted by his lack of education, especially in Japanese society where education is highly valued. Lee is overlooked for all legitimate work, relegating him to odd jobs like janitorial work. He prefers to earn money as a street performer, using parkour, juggling, and breakdancing to snag some tips. He gets by just fine(per his own definition) because he is frugal and has learned to live with less food, water, and quality of shelter than one might expect. While he is expected to sleep and eat at the group home—and to do the home managers work for them— he doesn't always do so. Lee is seen as a rebel, and he certainly can fit that description, but he never acts out for its own sake. His goth style reflects not a general desire to rebel, but rather it developed as a way to stand out from his siblings. He also sees his looks as an outward show that he doesn't care about what society thinks of him and his kind. He has a nontraditional value system, favoring what might be called a "chaotic good" nature. Lee has no qualms breaking the law or defying traditional ideas about morality. In terms of Archetype, he is something of a mix between the 'Robin Hood' and 'Aladin' character. Mostly Lee considers himself to be a caregiver, a hard worker, a free spirit, and an unapologetic smart ass. Equipment Advantage: 1 Powers: Leaping Rank 1 (Limited to Parkour appropriate environments) Resistance to Starvation/Thirst/Disease (Immunity with Limited Flaw) Headquarters: Hidden Loft PL-5 (1pp) Size: Small (-2) Living Quarters (+1)(Very spartan, bootleg cable (earphones), video games, stolen wifi, canned food, sleeping bags) Secret (+1)
  16. Hello everybody! I looked away for a week and BAM everything is at full steam! I am gonna catch up on stuff and have something more meaningful to say later.
  17. No worries, I am making pretty good strides learning the system. Dinking around in a superhero discord server with some knowledgeable folks. No rush. :)
  18. I am dinking around hero lab, but I cannot seem to find M&M. Also, are we using 2e or 3e? [EDIT] I figured out the problem I was having with hero lab.
  19. That is such a cool idea! The original movie was so hype. I was 9 and it was the coolest thing ever. Well the half with Omnimon at least! Also super thanks for pointing out Hero Lab!
  20. Oh! I saw the Augumon info! I am also reading some of the other info, such as the explanation of the prevalence of AR tech. With AR's underlying tech being a closely guarded corporate and government secret, I am already spinning some theories in my brain. Your world-building and the quality of your posts is excellent.
  21. No rush. I am still (slowly) learning the system. Its a system I am interested in anyway, so don't feel pressured b/c I am doing "homework" for the game.
  22. Good to know. Glad you aren't ready to start b/c I have a lot of reading to do! Do we use the powers rules for MnM to build what our mons' special moves do?
  23. So, for example looks pretty cool, reminds me of a dark version of Gallantmon, but his digivolution line seems convoluted. I never played the game he is from, so I can only guess how its supposed to work. [EDIT] Also, I haven't watch all the series so if I end up asking about some super-obvious choice like a main character digimon, let me know. I'd rather pick something off the beaten path.
  24. I feel ya. Digimon is a niche fandom these days. I only found you because I was scrolling through the recently created games list, I certainly wasn't searching for a digimon game. I have a desk job now, so it seemed a return to PbP is in order. I love world-building and such so I wouldn't mind helping you there a bit too. I don't mind mild spoilers in that regard. As for character creation, I was watching mutants and masterminds tutorial stuff and, man, the learning curve for the character creation is dense! I like the flexibility it seems to offer though. I am digging through the digimon wiki just for fun, looking for lesser known digimon I might request when/if the game gets off the ground. You mentioned that alternate evolution paths are OK, so does that mean a player could have a digimon that (canonically) only has a fusion evolution to go from champion to ultimate can just be hand-waived to a different ultimate form that normal?
