ariel Posted October 27, 2023 Clone Share Posted October 27, 2023 (edited) Broom Clever: 2 | Fierce: 1 | Sly: 2 | Quick: 1 | Danger: 0 | Tidy, clean and mend Appearance & Personality: Broom is an energetic but tattered old crow who has spent many years sweeping the witch's cottage floor with his own feathered wings. It is his joy. It is his life and passion. Good ol' Broom likes nothing better than a clean floor, a spotless kitchen and all the witches potions lined up precisely on the workshop shelves. He enjoys a good scrub so much that he can get a bit antsy if things are too clean for too long. In fact, ever since the witch has disappeared he's started tidying after the other familiars. Some like it better than others, but Broom will perservere. The cottage will be immaculate for the witch's return... if only he can figure out how to tidy the eyes out of the skull of the person who killed her... Story: One year after the witch summoned Broom into her presence, she came to him in the morning and told him he was to have "a day off". It was supposed to be a gift of some sort, for an "anniversary". She shooed him outside into the sunshine. He flew into the sky, circled the cottage once, twice, then alit on a branch. And then... well, and then he didn't know what to do with himself. He spent some time arranging the stones on the path leading to the witch's cottage, but it wasn't nearly as satisfying as a good sweep of crumbs off the breakfast table. He drifted back to the cottage, hoping the witch would let him in and perhaps let him clean up after dinner. To his delight, when the witch opened the door to let him, she revealed that she had completely upended her home. The ash from the fireplace was strewn about the cozy sitting room. The kitchen table and floor were heaped in dried goods, peas, lentils, raisins and the like. There was even some kind of greasy puddle oozing out from under the door of the workshop. Broom cried with joy! The witch laughed and waved him forward. He dove into the mess and set about making everything right. It was the best day ever.
