What is the best game privacy option for recruitment's sake?

I was looking into creating a game earlier and I was wondering which game privacy option is best for a recruitment. This also begs the question of whether the option can be changed later down the road as circumstances likewise change. I have looked around other recruitments and would prefer creating one that allows people to publicly view the entire game and have the option to submit character applications in a dedicated subsection, while also restricting post capabilities in the gameplay and out-of-character threads to those who are selected. Any advice towards that end, fellow Myth-Weavers?

When you make a game ad (set an ad end date in the game settings) it will automatically set the privacy setting to Public for the duration of the ad period. That will allow people to apply without issue. Once you’ve made selections, you can toggle to Closed, Private, or Read Only to restrict posting to only those that are members of the game.
