As mentioned in your overview, I'll only post the basic idea here.

Serra Pebblehill, Hafling Sellsword. Serra began her adventuring career after leaving conscripted service under a mercenary company. A hardier and more tenacious halfling there is not, but she has her reasons. She's survived much more trouble than she tells people about, and this sullies the cheerful disposition with which she'll banter with comrades. All-in-all she is a pleasant, if perhaps gruff person to meet on the road. If you force her into a fight though, don't bemoan the fury with which she retaliates.
