Skin • Green Eyes • Red Nok is large and strong for a kobold. He has scales that are varying shades of green and eyes that are a piercing red. All of his equipment are things that he has scavenged from the junkyards in the Puddles. His gear, while functional, looks like it should fall apart. He's always dirty and often smells a little rancid, but other kobolds don't mind this at all, and he has an infectious smile - at least to other kobolds. Humans think he is snarling when he smiles. History Nok has made a living going through the junkyards and trash heaps of the residents of Absalom. He will sometimes be gone from the tribe for a week at a time, scouring the discarded junk and rotting food around the city. When he finds as much as he can carry, he returns to the tribe, arms full, and is welcomed as a hero for the things he provides. Sometimes though, he gets detained and his journeys take longer. He has been captured, conscripted, imprisoned, beaten, and even briefly enslaved once. But he's always managed to survive, escape, and get back home. His worst experience was being captured and put to work cleaning their trash and waste. He was treated horribly, but he studied the humans and tried to learn their weaknesses. It took him a few months to find his opening, but he eventually escaped. He has spent quite a bit of time around humans, elves, and especially dwarves, studying them and their trash, sometimes fighting in their pits or just as cheap entertainment for the lower classes, and sometimes working for them in either honest of dishonest ways. But mostly he stays away from them. He's found them to be unreliable, aggressive, and sadistic. The large races often pick on lone kobolds, sometimes beating them or worse. While he has heard that there are good, decent, honorable humans, elves, and dwarves, he hasn't met any yet. He likes most ratfolk, gnomes and halflings as long as they don't act too civilized. Personality He's not very trusting of non-kobolds, but around his friends he is outgoing and charming. He thinks he has more knowledge of humans and Absalom than he really does. He can be arrogant and overconfident. While he holds a normal kobold's views on right and wrong, he will stand up for other kobolds and protect his smaller brethren. He values order and structure in society but is somewhat carefree in his own attitudes. He is also quicker than most kobolds to challenge a leader's orders or disobey them if he thinks they are stupid.
