Calrond Posted January 20 Author Clone Share Posted January 20 Game System: Eclipse Phase 2E Odin "Odie" Jorgenson Hacker, Anarchist, Truth-Seeker Inspiration: Neon Odin - Allfather Bio: Born in Norway before the Fall, Odin, or 'Odie" to his friends, began his career as a hacktivist in his teens and continued into his mid-twenties. After running afoul of a few nation states and criminal enterprises (including the Russian mob), resulting in a bounty on his ego, Odie took the first opportunity to farcast out to the Scum Swarm to hide out from the ego hunters on his trail. Their efforts came to a halt when the Fall eliminated their paying customers: the old Earth nation states and most of the criminal enterprises that had been hunting him -- but not all of them. Now, almost two decades after he left Earth, Odie is back in the inner system to do what he does best: ferret out the truth, expose the failures and corruption of the powerful, and enlist others to do the same. Goals: Hacktivism, bringing down corrupt organizations, promoting self-reliance, avoiding the remnant of the Russian mob, and uncovering the truth behind the Fall. Meta: One of the major themes around Odin in Norse mythology is that knowledge/wisdom requires sacrifice. This works very well in a system like Eclipse Phase in which witnessing events or gaining certain knowledge might result in a risk of trauma or insanity. I also want the software he uses to have themes of Norse mythology, with his muse appearing to him as Hugin and Munin, his offense-based software to be themed after the wolves Geri and Freki, etc. For influences, besides the obvious, there's a lot of Raymond Kenney from the Watch_Dogs franchise and a hint of Mattias Nilsson from the Mercenaries franchise.
