Abilities and Features

Bugbear

-Languages: Common, Goblin

-Speed 30 ft

-Darkvision 60 ft

-Long Limbed: treat melee range as +5 feet

-Powerful Build: count as one size larger for carry capacity

-Surprise Attack: If you surprise a creature and hit it with an attack on your first turn in combat, the attack deals an extra 2d6 damage to it. You can use this trait only once per combat.

 

Background: Gladiator

-You can always find a place to perform, usually in an inn or tavern but possibly with a circus, at a theater, or even in a noble's court. At such a place, you receive free lodging and food of a modest or comfortable standard (depending on the quality of the establishment), as long as you perform each night.

 

Ranger

-Favored Enemy (Fey): Advantage on Survival checks concerning Fey. Learn Fey language.

-Natural Explorer (Forest): Lots of minor bonuses, I'm good around trees.

-Fighting Style (Two Weapon Fighting): When you engage in two-weapon fighting, you can add your ability modifier to the damage of the second attack.

-Spellcasting: You know spells. Yay.

Background 

- Raised as part of regular Bugbear tribe.

- Tribe raided by eladrin, taken prisoner to fight for their entertainment.

- Escaped the eladrin, is now a mercenary with a grudge against the fey.

- Hired to defend the caravan, partially took the job to get out of town.
