Doppelganger - Shapeshifter

---

Gaunt, pale and hairless, the doppelganger is a gray-skinned humanoid with gangly limbs and a bulbous head with large, bulging octopoid eyes, yellow with slitted pupils, that stare blankly up into the darkening sky. Its face is otherwise blank and featureless.

You can all recall tales of creatures colloquially known as "Shapeshifters", which are found in several bard’s tales from the north, typically involving morals regarding deception.
Of course, the skins they take on and their deeds vary widely from race to race, between the tales dwarven war chanters the those of elven spellsingers etc...

Spriggan

Spriggans are nomadic gnomekin. They resemble ugly, mean gnomes with greasy, reddish-brown hair and dull, yellow skin. They grow their hair to ridiculous proportions, proudly sporting bushy mustaches, sideburns and ponytails. They are disgustingly
unclean things, exuding an almost nauseating smell of rancid flesh.

Delfargo "the Baitseller" exudes a reek of dead fish, which masks any smell of rancid flesh he might otherwise exude.

The living shadows that accounted you in the basement chambers bellow the warehouse in Daggerford and again under Mt. Illefarn.

Black Abishai

A gothic gargoyle-like winged, black scaled creature with an acid tipped tail stinger. (The one you encountered was thankfully not dual wielding longswords.)

Wyvern

This two-legged lizard is bigger than a warhorse. It has a long tail tipped with a thick knot of cartilage from which a stinger protrudes much like that of a scorpion. It has leathery bat wings and huge jaws filled with long, sharp teeth. Its scales are a dark brown-grey.

Ogre

This hulking brute appears to be at least 9 feet tall. It has a thick hide covered in dark, warty bumps, it wears smelly skins, and its hair is long, unkempt, and greasy.

The creature that has emerged from the lavatory in abandoned Runedardath

A large, slimy multilegged maggot-like abomination with a 10-foot-long chitinous segmented body.
Eight writhing tentacles protrude from its head, growing directly from below its clacking mandibles and tooth filled maw.
The tentacles are roughly 2 feet long each and seem to secrete a sticky substance.
The stink of rotten meat surrounds this unnatural looking creature.

Troll

This big, bipedal creature is about one and a half times as tall as a human but very thin. It has long and ungainly arms and legs The legs end in great three-toed feet, the arms in wide, powerful hands with sharpened claws.
The hide is rubbery, and its hair is thick and ropy, and seems to writhe with its own energy.

Trolls encountered to date have grey toned skin, but the same general appearance as in the image.

Forest Creature

The leafy creature looks like a mass of leaves and vines with a vaguely humanlike form. It has a barrel-shaped body wholly eight feet wide and six feet tall with ropy arms and stumpy legs. It doesn’t seem to have a head.

A handsome and rugged elderly human man with flowing white hair and beard tinged with blue. He has piercing eyes that shimmer like pools of water. He wears beautiful shining silvery chainmail and attractive clothing with exquisite silver jewelry that glints in the sunlight. His longspear is of fine make, the wooden haft glistening with water droplets. Seemingly standing on a waterfall as if if were solid for all intents and purposes.

Laughing Hollow Swarm

Each individual creature in the swarm appears to be a elfen like creature with dragonfly wings that is about 4 inches tall, and glows a particular color. When together, the swarm glows all colors of the rainbow.
