Wizard of the Coat brought up a good point about rewarding good RP with some kind of bonus.

Original

Temporary Force Points

In addition to Force Points gained at Level Advancement, the GM can award Temporary Force Points (TFP) for game-enhancing role play/writing-- posts (or themes across multiple posts) that

  • show compelling character development (e.g. revealing greater depths to the character, a key developmental turning point or transition...)
  • develop meaningful bonds between PCs
  • add valuable depth to the primary narrative
  • add valuable depth or a Star Wars-esque cinematic feel to the immediate setting
  • introduce Star Wars-esque humor into the narrative

Temporary Force Points follow all of the rules and restrictions of (regular) Force Points, but they must be spent before the end of the next "combat encounter" or they are lost. A PC can only have one TFP at a time.

This is good, but I propose a slight tweak now that I've had time to think on this. For the time being, until we can vote on the following, we will use Temporary Force Points.

New version

Inspiration

The GM may award Inspiration to a player at any time, but any player may initiate a Nomination Vote to see if others agree with the highlighted post in question. To earn Inspiration, players should:

  • do all the stuff mentioned above in bullets ;)

Inspiration is twice as powerful as a Force Point (apply any effect but doubled). It is a step in power between Force Points and Destiny Points. They are not as strong as a Destiny Point but Inspiration is easier to earn.

Once you have earned Inspiration, you cannot earn it again until you spend it.

What do you think? Do we like Inspiration?
