It's a touch outside their homeground, but the Everglades makes a natural spot for this sorta activity... and Aztechnology is not that far away. Just if you wanted another option. ^^

I went for Aztec. The corp that is universally hated by shadowrunners, and equally hates all of them in return. But are they socialists, you ask? No, they hate some more than others.

I mean, it's not universally hated by Runners. Some runners are either dumb enough to think AzTech won't screw them over, or unscrupulous enough to take a very bleak payday. ^^ Universally hated by Runners with common sense and an ounce of soul!

Big A is never far away.

But just because communism involves serfdom for the masses doesn't mean that every regime that deals in serfdom for the masses is communist.

Also, in the 2080's every regime deals in serfdom for the masses, just that most of them try to pretend that the masses are perfectly free to go wherever they like (and starve to death).

Thanks for the help, but I need it to be a megacorp that is a real threat in Miami. Because who doesn't like being on the wanted list of a megacorp with a long history of unsavory means? Admittedly, that description fits every megacorp, but you get my point.

Some questions for the GM ( @saithor ) or anyone else more in tune with the rules than me.

  1. Can Trid Phantasm (Core p.291) reproduce the effects of Physical Mask? That is, can it be used to create an illusion over a person or a group, concealing their nature behind the illusion?
  2. Follow-up question: Can Trid Phantasm be moved (as part of the sustaining or as a simple or complex action) with the target(s) it is cast over without looking "laggy", assuming they move at a reasonable (for example less than Force) speed?
  3. Since Trid Phantasm is a physical spell, can you create the illusion of a guard that talks normally and even provides a handshake? I expect it fails if someone tries to hand the illusionary guard a cup of coffee.
  4. Assume the following scenario. Chaotic World at force 6 is cast and sustained in the middle of a group of guards and drones. What happens if a party member or a non-affected security guard enters the area? Can a person just move out of the area to end the effect? I.e. is the illusion affecting the people around that specific point, or on the people and devices that happen to be inside the area at the time of casting?

Pretty sure the answers to 1,2, and 3 are yes and for Chaotic World it’s for people who are inside the AOE during the duration, if they leave the aoe they are no longer affected

Is a former Aztlan gladiator on the run from Aztechnology too cliche? I feel like Aztechnology is the usual boogeyman in scenarios like that.

@saithor How would you feel about a Face who runs a cult (Black Magic)? & How would you want that to be mechanically handled?

I assume a group contact.

Black Magic is fine and yeah group contact would be best

Are we all anti-Azzie? My character hates them too. Are they just too good as a bad guy?

...They're literally a corp that commits to blood sacrifices, they're made to be the bad guy.

Edit: and, you know, they're a corp.

Tonight would deny hating any corp. It's unbecoming of a reporter. ^^ She would however point out that Aztlan has taken down a Great Dragon in a fight. If there's someone to be very justifiably concerned about, it's Aztechnology.

(Also, they tried to kill her dad once. But lots of people tried to kill her dad. It's his hobby, basically)

@saithor Is there a chance characters that have the skills and tools could start with hardware, software or gear already created? Not everything, of course, I mean, who has that kind of time budget? But a pool maybe or a ¥ amount? Just curious.

I'll say up to two weeks time budget worth of gear

Might have already been asked earlier, but how necessary are Fake SINs and other "usual" staples of Shadowrun like licenses? Given the somewhat inverted way of gaining street cred in the Carib League, I'm curious how heavily those will be leaned on.

Edit: Had a second question as well. How are drugs being handled? I'm not planning on doing anything with custom drugs but I'm just wondering if addiction and/or drug stacking rules are going to be any different from RAW.
