Randall Kincaid

1. History, WIP

2. Goal for Randall. He is fascinated with magic, in all forms. He wants to find and possess as much as he can. He wants to find the origins of magic. (I'm unfamiliar with this setting, so I'm not sure if there is a singular origin) If it originates from a deity, he wants to find that deity and ask questions. If it originates from one.. thread.. one fabric. He wants to know the original form, before it spreads into the schools of magic and the arcane/divine/elemental varieties.

Goal for me. I love rogues. My only real goal is to be able to play one to the completion of a campaign. It's simple... but I cant quite seem to be able to pull it off. Games on the Weave die... In Real life games, it's just as hard to find people that have coinciding schedules... all the time.

3. I'm going to go with 3 secrets? One is his secret desire. He wants to use magic to extend his life. Becoming a demi-god would be a top tier goal. But, replacing failing body parts with magical prosthetics, almost becoming a warforged of sorts. Or some other as yet unknown thing, a gift from a god that lets him live and research, forever.

Another, is that he has fey in his lineage. Not a huge surprise from his feats. But, not elven... He knows that no elves are in his familial tree.

What he doesnt know is that his fey ancestor is something more powerful, nearly a demigod. But something that crossed over from fey, had a trist with a human, and then went back into fey. Many generations back in his family.

5. Occasionally Randall's speach patterns will change. Either sounding very highborn and noble. Or, adopting a slang, twang, or accent that he has picked up or heard recently. Sometimes doing it while speaking with someone, coming off as mocking. But not at all meant to be intentionally mocking.

Many of Randall's earliest memories involve his mother. She was a wizard of some power, and would do such feats of magic that he would be left speachless. Which was often her reasoning for doing them. To keep a young boy placid, at least for a short time. Only giving him fuel for later questions.

When standing around but not immediately a part of the conversation, Randall tends to hold almost perfectly still. Sliding to a wall, a corner, a large piece of furniture or something else equally out of the way. Trying to blend into the background, and watch and listen to what is going on around. Only moving when he has something to add, or he is directly questioned.

Have not done full gear list. Will most likely wait on that.

For magic. If you are looking for a wishlist...

Dai Nguyen

Dai is a scholar of ill repute. Brilliant, full of ideas, but most are borderline necromantic in nature. Even the more benign ideas that Dai has, typically require hard to find materials, or some item that is being held under lock and key by some noble that is not looking to part with it. Which is where much of Randall's kit comes into play. Research is great, but he loves his time in the field. Gaining access to what others think they have locked away.

Dai is friendly, so long as Randall performs his work. But, Randall spent a portion of his childhood around the man, and has seen the full force of his anger. He is not a man to cross.

Uncle Sylas is Randall's main benefactor. His research is more into old temples, forgotten lairs, etc. Places where no one in their right mind would live, but may have left an item or two behind when they died. Maybe even a spellbook, or still functioning spell. Sylas is not Randall's kin, but he's always looked out for Randall. His missions always into areas where Randall will not get into any legal trouble. Maybe life or death trouble, but nothing legal. Sylas is a bookworm, first and foremost. But he is also quite adept at spell slinging. Tho he is not one to go into combat, he still has a fair amount of power and knowledge at his command.

Kay, is ever a thorn in Randall's side. Sometimes hired by others to try and snipe Randall's score. Sometimes hired directly by Dai, as an insurance plan. Kay and Randall have not yet come to blows, usually they get close to it. But both flee before guards, or homeowners are alerted. Once or twice, Kay has beaten Randall to his prey, and on her way out she has tripped alarms or alerted guards to Randall's presence. Just to subdue Randall, while keeping her hands clean.
