BACKGROUND

Kt'chk'ta grew up on Zik-kit. He was lucky because his skills led him towards medicine instead of mining. Most Vrusk are more than happy to live their lives fulfilling the status quo, living a boring life doing the same thing over and over. Kt'chk'ta was different. He wanted more in his life. He wanted some excitement and to travel and see other places. He knew he would never be able to afford to leave the planet if he only did his job at the medical facilities. So he used his skill with computers and managed to connect with the black market on his home planet. He used his computer skills and access to medical supplies to alter records and steel some medical supplies and sell them. He had just abut gathered enough money to afford to leave the planet when he was caught. Tried and sentenced to 10 years in prison, he was now on a prison transport headed off planet to another world.

Not exactly how he wanted to see other worlds.

BACKGROUND

Kayla used to be something. She used to have a future ahead of her, but that was all taken away in sound and fire. A terrorist cell attacked Minotaur in the Theseus system when Kayla was 22 years old. She was sharp, but wanted to get away from the life of hard labor she was surrounded by. Kayla wished to go to a university to learn from, but was working on the money for it. She never got the chance.

Being the daughter of a self-proclaimed rebellious freedom fighter was difficult. Kayla often was pulled into her mother's schemes. It's what caused her father to leave, knowing a life of violence and arms-dealing was no way to live. Even Kayla knew it, only half-heartedly helping her mother when called on.

The terrorists struck a factory where Kayla's mother had been secretly stealing weapons from for The Movement. The Sathar wanted nothing to do with sentients that could defend themselvers, so they were targeted. Kayla pushed her mother out of the way of shrapnel and flame, but lost more than an arm and eye that day.

When Kayla awoke in a hospital two years later, she had a brand new cybernetic arm, a digitized eye-patch that tricked her brain into seeing depth again, and a face full of scars. Between the metal pulled out of her brain and the muscle atrophy, Kayla was a different woman. She couldn't remember her childhood. She knew her mother, but couldn't remember the face of her father.

Kayla took to crime much more in her new persona, so much so that it netted her time in the clink. At least she had plenty of time to get her body back in shape. For some reason, she desperately craved smoking.

BACKGROUND

Tok was a young Yazirian born with an almost uncanny ability with technology.  Joining the Yazirian military he worked on several assignments showcasing his ability.  Eventually, he was selected to join the Joint Species Operations Command or JSOC at the mid-point of the Sarthar war.   where he worked as Comms/Technician with distinction until his unit was shot down and he was captured.

His captivity was a constant barrage of mental and physical interrogation eventually leading to having his “wings” amputated.  Deemed useless for gaining any more intel he was slotted for transfer to another camp.  A raid rescued his tired and broken form and he was sent to a UFP medical ship for aid.  While there he was brought up on charges of Treason and Espionage and blamed for the attack on his team.  The UFP said they had proof that he sent unencrypted messages to Sarthar units resulting in the attack.   Tried and convicted in a kangaroo court he was sentenced to life in a UFP maximum Security prison.  

Tok gained a lot of habits serving with the numerous species of JSOC, especially the Humans.  His gaining the habit of cigars, coarse humor and colorful language are just some of his traits that cause him to stand out amongst other Yazirians. 

Tok has yet to choose a life enemy, although the Sarthar are leading the pack for choices. Without his ability to glide he suffers depression when around others of his kind, even though he hides it with sarcasm and insults, and he constantly seeks a way to rejoin them in the skies.
