Salamis

Salamis is the center of the technology boom on the continent of Delos. Firearms, steam locomotives, airships, and dozens of other marvels have come from the great minds of the nation over the course of the last hundred years. As such the country has seen its large share of supporters as well as enemies. The country of Cy'ril to the north continues to teeter on the verge of full blown war. Only the support from the Dwarves of Murhür and Cy'ril's lower troop numbers have kept the border skirmishes to a icy stalemate. While Ossa and Eban have remained solid trade partners, neither side has agreed to join in support of the conflict. The most famous battle of recent having been on the border by the village of Hornsaw. Rumors however have started to circulate that Cy'ril has begun researching more sinister magical implements of war to counter their shortcomings, including the tactic of necromancy on their fallen to repopulate their army's numbers.

Magic continues to still have its place within the lands of Salamis. Though many more of its applications have been focused to strengthening and improving the technology rather than trying to duplicate it now. One of the Watchtowers of the High Order of Mages also stands tall just south of the city of Tarsis. Two of the ancient teleportation Gateways that cover the continent of Delos are also currently within the Salamis borders. Both are currently held within temples of Shan, one in the city of Calmere and the other in Freebourne.

Salamis is an absolute monarchy. King Alexander the VIII rules from his throne in the capital city of Tarsis. Opinion of the king is mixed as many are unhappy with the recent increase of taxes and trade restrictions near Cy'ril borders and with other nations still tied to Cy'ril import and export trade. Many are concerned with the line of succession for the royal family as well. The King's eldest son, Phillip has proven to show little concern for the people and more for drinking and whoring. The King's second child, and eldest daughter Rashka while being more fit to rule is known to be extremely cruel and merciless. However no one can argue that of Salamis military might and its continued technological growth, under the command of Grand General Reginald Aether. Riflemen and Mechanika having become a dominating force on the battlefield.

The main population of Salamis is primarily human at approximately 90%, the remaining 10% is varied between elves that have fled the civil war in their own native country of Vidiel, as well as dwarves that have moved into the region from Murhür as part of the war effort. A few other races are known to cross into Salamis lands but most are rare outside of mercenaries or merchants.

Ossa

If any human nation could come close to rivaling Salamis, it would be Ossa. While Salamis has focused on the powers of man's ingenuity and harnessing the power of steam, Ossa has chosen to exploit a familiar natural resource of their land. Jade. The mystical mineral contains extremely raw natural power to be used as a fuel source, while its more refined components can be used to rival elements of even the most devastating magical spells. Jade comes in a variety of naturally occurring colors. The color of the jade seems to apply different effects based on its use. A samurai welding a katana forged from mystical jade is a frighting thing to behold. The most powerful of these blades is known as a jadesaber.

The Shihōin family is the ruling noble house of Ossa, overseen by Emperor Shihōin Hotaitaka. Hotaitaka was once the Shogun of Ossa before marrying the Empresses Dairuko. Hotaitaka having been one of the most powerful Shoguns in Ossa history had few object to his marriage of the Empresses. Some from respect, many out of fear. Through the marriage however, Hotaitaka dissolved the Emperor position as nothing more than a figurehead title. He also continues to maintain his position as Shogun to the country's military force. His daughter, and currently only heir, Kitao is well known for her beauty and musical talent. Two smaller houses, The Akodo and Togashi also serve under the Shihōin banner. The capital city, Miyizaki, is a beautiful landscape of glowing jade lights and exotic architecture.

Despite the continuing wide spread of Jade, magic continues to still have its place within the lands of Ossa. Many applications of jade are adapted or strengthened using magic to improve and further focus the already powerful nature resource. A Watchtower of the High Order of Mages stands west of the city of Miyizaki. Two Gateways that cover the continent of Delos are also currently within the Ossa borders, held within temples of Shan, one in the city of Kagashima and the other in Nagoya.

Cyril

Cy'ril is the second largest kingdom of the continent of Delos. However much of the land area of Cy'ril is undeveloped. Much of this is because a large portion of the land mass is occupied by the Unseelie Forest. The massive section of woods is said to be under a ancient curse dating back to the war of the gods. Many myths and stories of both unbelievable horrors and treasures are said to be held deep within the dense branches of the forest. The woods are also said to be alive and constantly moving on their own making mapping the forest impossible, assuming one even managed to survive that long.

Due to much of the forest's size cutting into the Kingdom's total occupied landmass, it sits at nearly half that of Sng so close by had managed to persuade many citizens to cross the borders. The more loyal patriots to the Kingdom is Cy'ril however seem to be those inclined towards magic in comparison. However many years of border disputes combined with animosity have developed into nearly full scale war with Salamis. Outmatched and outclassed by Salamis forces has made those harsh feelings only strengthen. As such desperate men, turnalamis. The boom of technology and the promise of better livi to desperate measures.

Seeking to repopulate their army's forces many Cy'ril mages have turned towards the art of Necromancy and other troubling dark arts to reanimate the fallen and send them back out to the battlefield to fight once more. Many Cy'ril strongholds and castles now also house Gargoyle rookeries. King Edgar having made a pact with the tribes of the Gargoyles, despite their uncivilized savage nature. The loss of faith in the new Gods, as well as so many rookeries has also lead to the worship of the old Gods to slowly start to rise again as the Gargoyles old religion becomes more widespread.

The main population of Cy'ril is primarily Human at approximately 95%, the remaining 5% (and growing) is Gargoyles. A few other races including Minotaur and Hobgoblin mercenaries from the northern area of Masero and merchant travelers are known to pass through.

Eban

The Kingdom of Eban is the third largest kingdom in terms of population and power. Eban however is not part of the main landmass and is actually a joint group of seven islands within the Althea Ocean, just off the coast of the main Delos continent. Also while Eban is a monarchy it has taken evolutionary steps in terms of government. King Leon Kuldes has allowed the government a form of democracy in letting the population of the islands vote in the election of the King's royal cabinet thus allowing each island to have equal representation regarding Kingdom politics.

The seven isles of the Eban Kingdom include - Kouwòn, Bèt, Sezi, Rezen, Reef, Libète, and Pwason. Kouwon being the largest of all the island. Its land mass being larger than all the other six combined. It serves as the main island for the ruling government and houses the capital city of Desizyon

Eban also claims territory to the Vape Dlo Isle, though there is no official political body that lives there. The isolated isle is actually a huge prison that serves to house the most vile and heinous of criminals. The Kingdom of Eban attempting to continue to try to evolve and having eliminated the death penalty for all but the worst crimes such as those of treason.

The main population of Eban is primarily human at approximately 85%, the remaining 15% is varied between Trolkin (estimated at a little over 10%) that are the original native people to the island chain, as well as other various mercenaries and merchants that have migrated to the area for its tropical climate or rich trade. Eban holds a very steady trade with the Nereid people that live under the waves of the Althea Ocean.

Rhodes

The Empire of Rhodes as developed over the centuries a complex organisation of government with the Sultan as the supreme ruler of a centralized government that had an effective control of its provinces, officials and inhabitants. Wealth and rank can be inherited, and often are, but can just as often be earned. Military service is a key to advancement in the hierarchy.

Unlike the Dwarves in Murhur, where the government borders on Theocracy, or where other countries throughout Delos where the church functions as its own independent body, Rhodes, maintains heavy control over the clergy. Freedom of religion is still allowed but state laws restrict priests from openly preaching or actively seeking donations.in the streets.

Masero

Megafauna such as caribou, musk oxen, woolly rhinos, mammoths, wolves, and direbears call this region home. The waterways are rich with fish, while seals and walruses swim in the oceans. The Frozen Wastes lie to the northern most region of Masero, where the land is mostly devoid of inhabitants. Many speak of a giant wall of ice that lies somewhere close to the northern most tip of the continent. Little information however is available as few have survived the trek into the sub-artic temperatures. Those that have managed to make it to the wall in recent years and back again to tell the tale speaking of the sound of voices that seem to echo on the wind, and the appearance of shadows seeming to move within the icy wall. Most of these stories are consider wild tales brought on by stress and fatigue of the grueling trip.

Masero is divided into twelve different ruling tribal states aligned to make a singular ruling body. Each tribal body controlling a province within the region.

Adamantine ore is found almost exclusively within the nothern regions of Masero and is one of its primary exports.

Nanman

Much of the nation of Nanmam is hidden deep within the vast sprawling confines of the Guang Jungle. Like Masero, the lands of Nanman are home to many Megafauna - crocodiles, direapes, tigers, hyena, and wild boar all reside within the maze of tropical flora. Much of said flora is deadly in its own right as well.

Nanman is a primary produce of Darkwood which is found within the jungle. Darkwood is a species of rare magical hardwood which is exceptionally light, weighing generally half as much as woods of the same hardness. Many airship companies Salamis seek to import Darkwood for construction of vessals. Eban likewise is a heavy importer of the material for sea-faring craft.

Murhür

Murhür is ruled by the High Dwarven King and a ruling council. There are seven massive city-states within the Dwarven lands that each provide a seat upon the council. There are all overseen by the High King Dáin from the capital-city Kon Kuldir which itself is located within King's Mountain, the highest mountain known in Delos. Kon Kuldir is also site to one of the largest temples in Delos for the new Gods. Known as the Stairway of the Gods, the marvel of engineering and stonework hangs out from the near 25,000 ft tall peak of the mountain top. The temple serves as a worship epicenter to the entire pathogen of Delos.

Vidiel

Homeland of the Elven people on the continent of Delos for thousands of years. Incredible natural beauty spans across the lands of with Vidiel's borders. Much of the natural beauty however has been torn apart by civil war in recent years. An absolute monarchy ruled by Queen Medlinniel. Her rule has been brought into question by claims of her birth being illegitimate. Claims that the former queen had an affair and the true father was not the King. Her younger brother Falin Mor has raised a large group of supporters in the southern houses of Vidiel in an attempt to seize the crown.

Alahan, Huacas & Doriman

Mystical lands to the east. Little is known about the lands or the creatures beyond the deadly natural border created by the Red Sands Desert, Guang Jungle, Merrihurst Mountains that divide the areas. The Genasi are natives to the lands here, but information of the land and culture are limited.  Rumors also exist of strange insectoid like humanoid creatures that roam the lands.
