Nodding to the men who gathered up, Dagen twists back to the Orc groups trying to hold onto the men. "Remember, your lives are the most important thing. Let's break these Orcs of their will to fight and return home!" He states with a loud voice before dashing towards the orc group that had already suffered some damage. "Make them suffer!" He cries out as his blade starts lashing out like a massive steel viper.

Shyrrik shook his head as he flew over the two shield walls about to meet Dagen. Knowing he is likely to get overwhelmed if he lets the new arrivals join the fray. So turns wing to meet them instead. Diving down to meet the new hunters to hopefully keep them busy with him istead of his companions. His shriek signalling his talons as he slashed out at them as he flew over the hunters heads.

Seeing the need to take out Shyrrik the Hunters would quickly begin nocking in their arrows and sending them in their direction! Both Groups would attack him. 

The First Orc Group would again form a shield wall making themselves go full defense.

The second Orc Group would attempt to overwhelm the men that were fighting alongside Dagen slinging their swords and trying to cut them down!

Shyrrik shrieked as arrows hurled towards him. Wings flapping as he tried to dodge out of the way. Wincing as both arrows sunk deep into his flesh. Head shaking as he wheeled about, trying to maintain his flight. With the prisoners mostly safe and the enemy seeming to grow in number he took a glance down below to see the battle field.

Thinking perhaps it was high time to high tail it out of here. Unsure if he and Dagen could handle so many enemies all at once, so he moved towards Dagen and the prisoners willing to fight. Believing the ones he had carried away earlier had ample time to flee, perhaps it was time for them to as well.

Landing next to the warrior he glanced at him and lowered himself so he could be mounted by him and those who remained. To hopefully flee from here before they got overwhelmed.

"Alright! Back away! Your goal is survival, revenge can come later." Calls out Dagen. "Behind me! Towards the entrance of the level!" He states as he starts backing up slowly and giving the others time to form behind him. Then as the men form behind him, Dagen shifts his form from an aggressive stance to a defensive stance. "...Cresting waves of a lowering tide," he mutters to himself as he sets the position. The maneuver slide the blade out and up, almost as if he was attempting to sling dirt with the tip of the massive blade. But as the blade started to fling back and leave him even the slightest bit open, he'd step back.

His great-grandfather had designed the maneuver for just this purpose. A slow and steady escape with people behind you.

  Challenge: Escape the Level!  

As the party flees the Orc Groups that once surrounded them would continue to follow. Attempting to attack and take down anyone they could as the party attempted to flee the floor. The tired men would try their best to run through the thick brush of the forest in order to escape, giving everything they had left to make it out alive. Arrows would quickly fly by the party as the Orc Hunters attempted to stop them dead in their tracks. Time was not on their side, and not making it out was not an option! 

 

There are three tasks your party must overcome; one for each adventurer. All tasks are against +2 difficulty. You are under pressure and do not have time to create advantages any more advantages. The party may choose what skill is used for the action but it must make logical sense.  

  • You must find a decent path out of the area that leads to the stairs down. 
  • You must keep the Orcs at bay so that they do not capture anyone.  Completed by Dagen!
  • You must communicate with everyone so that no one gets lost. 

Failure in any of these tasks could lead to further complications!

"Keep going! I'll slow them down!" shouted Dagen with a gasping breath. He was exhausted, but these adventurers were going to make it home. "Roots and limbs." mutters Dagen as he makes a spinning attack at the nearest approaching orc, going for head then feet and then head again.

Shyrrik landed beside the others as they started for the exit. His gaze flicking about cautiously to ensure they weren't about to run into any surprises on the way to the exit. Head shaking as he let his magic fade from his form, stumbling just a little as he winced at the arrow in his side and his shoulder. Though at least he was still able to move so he knew he would be alright for the time being.

Glancing to the freed prisoners, he conjured a few sparks of energy from his fingers to grab their attention. "Come this way everyone! Stay together!" Trying to get them to stay together as one group and checking to ensure they were not leaving anyone behind in the flight towards the floor's exit. Hopefully they were heading in the correct direction, was a little hard to tell on the ground.

"Shyrrik, Dagen, everyone, this way!" He hollered, as they desperately fled the orcs.

As the minutes raced on the party and the rescued hunters all managed to find their way to the stairs. Quickly they opened the door and found themselves no longer in danger. 

Many of the men fell to the ground as they were exhausted from the starvation  and torture that they faced from the Orcs. Then to be pushed to the limits of running was extremely hard on their bodies. But as a few seconds past, all of the men would begin looking at one another and laughing as all of them were in disbelief that they had all truly made it out alive. 

The men would eventually pick themselves off the ground, finding the strength to surround the party. They all would bow together and one by one thank them for risking themselves to save them. Once this action was done the group would then regroup so that they could safely travel back into the town of Alexius. 

 

REQUEST REMINDER 

The party is tasked with finding a man named Hickson. Who was supposedly hunting in the area.

Out of the crowd a roughed up man would appear. " I am Hickson... who sent you?" Hickson had sustained clear damage to his body from being tutored by the Orcs while captive.

"Are you able to make it back home? Here, I have a few bandages left..." The boy approached, taking out some clean linen wraps.

Hearing Gen say his wifes name his eyes would instantly begin to tear up. " Oh man shes going to kill me when she see me." He'd chuckle a little thinking about it while he stood there. " If you could bandage me up that would be great, I think I could make it back..." 

As Gen began to work on the man he would then speak to the group. " This may or may not help you and your party.. things have been changing around here... the Orcs have grown in number and I know recently they have made it down to the second floor. I thought I would be safe out here but turns out there is a huge Orc Fortress towards the west. While captive a human man was walking with the Orcs as a friend.. he looked at us and chose a few to be pulled out of the group.. Thankfully I wasn't chosen. I'm not sure what you all could do with this information..."

Shyrrik would frown deeply at the talk of a fortress and a human working with the orcs. Boding ill news for them. His head shaking a little as he stepped towards the fellow to stand next to Gen. "Ourselves? Likely not a whole lot. But I think the guild can deal with the information better then us. Plus they likely have the resources to get a rendering of this guy's face." He is quick to hold up his hands. "After you have had time to return to your wife and get yourself rested and patched up." Glancing to make sure the other prisoners where able to return to the surface.
