The tall Sylv was wearing comfortable clothes and looked far more soft than the other 'Adventurers', but held a sturdiness about him above most civilians. Looking around the room he was far more interested the various scrolls and books about the study than he did the knight (?) behind the desk, but managed to focus his attention enough to catch the contents of the Contract, and that they had used a magic implement to write it out.

"Fascinating, a magical contract!" he exclaimed. Peering closer at the pen he asked a follow up question about the tool, "Does the magic create a duplicate for each of us, or do we each need to sign twice so that we can each keep a copy?"

Sir Trellis is a bit shocked that Nora signs so amicably without any questions. Though he is relieved as well. As the group talks and more questions are asked he addresses Shiro first. "That is correct, the only one you will be unable to lie to is myself. You will be able to enter any home, business, or official building you deem needed for your investigation, as well as take anything needed for the investigation. This does mean that if you see something you just particularly like you but has nothing to do with the mission you will be punished. I am sorry it's so complicated but we have to keep your citizens safety in mind." He smiles to Eizans enthusiasm and will help her if she doesn't know how to sign her name. The more tribal people he is some what accustomed to. Looking to Robert next he smiles. "How astute, this contract once it has been stamped by me after all of you have signed will indeed create a non psionic copy for each of you as proof of our deal. The master copy will stay in my possession and can only be ended by all of us." From there he takes out a map and lays it on the table for Nora and the others to see. Indicating the road leading north, he assures everyone it's a well taken care of road, cobblestone laid to make travel easier and the forest in between cut back as well. There is a small town center where the lord lives and then sprawling farm land all around. Once everyone has signed he stamps the parchment to finalize it, the parchment glows an other worldly green for a moment and when he pulls the first one away a stack of identical ones wait under it. "If you need any repairs, food, or reasonable equipment before you set off please ask the guardsman on your way out. They will help you. I thank you all for your help and I shall await your return."

Fredrick takes the pin and begins to sign the paper as well. "I do have to ask..." says Fredrick. "How many people are going to fight against your order? Given that it looks like you had a terrible run in this morning."

"Do you mind?" he says, as he carefully steps forward, "I do this for a living, so try not to be startled."

Pulling out a mundane crystal and begins to run it about 2" from Sir Tellis's physical body. Fredrick begins to cast prestidigitation and cleans Sir Trellis's clothing, followed by the mending spell to repair torn or damaged items. "There! You should be more presentable should you have further guests."

Sir Trellis doesn't think anyone would be so blatant to attack him in his own office and thus doesn't flinch the slightest. Once the spells are cast and he's cleaned up a bit he looks himself over. "Thank you. It's rough out there so we are doing our best to keep things as peaceful as possible. Honestly the citizens taking it out on me is the least of my worries."

"E. I. Z. A. N." the Arequin recites as the knight assists her in scribbling a rather outlandish scrawl.

"Done! Psychotic paper is mine," she proclaims, taking her copy and shoving it in her pack

"We ride!" she agrees with Shiro.

As the group prepares to depart, "As always I should have room for a couple of people in the back and on the front of the wagon."

"We should also be prepared for an ambush on the wagon, especially if there is thievery involved." says Fredrick. Upon walking outside, he checks the horse and wagon that was nearby within sight of the guards. "I don't think I need anything off hand." he says, "Although I did forget to pick up a grappling hook." mumbling to himself.

As Sir Trellis said the guards are more than happy to help requisition any food, reasonable equipment, and perform any repairs that are needed. The town is a little over a days travel away so the party is given time to prepare for that. (As long as it is reasonable such as lock picks, crowbar, no more than 2 days worth of food, repairs, water, climbing kit, you can write it on your sheet without paying. Please make a note in OOC what you get.)

Once the party sets out the city is still a boiling pot ready to blow it's lid at any moment. Citizens unhappy with the state of affairs while those in charge are trying to stop an all out panic. Upon the north road however things quiet down. It is well maintained as Sir Trellis said it would be, easy and even walking or riding for those who are in the cart. Hours pass with no one else in sight Half the day is gone, the sky already darkening slowly with the time of year. Sunlight hanging on a longer thanks to the summer months. A cool breeze blowing along the road breaks the silence while leaves rustle. Anyone who is used to the natural world more than a city would take note that no birds, insects, or other such creatures have been heard in the past hour of travel.
Ahead on the clear bath a lone figure is walking steadily toward the party, their steps an even quick pace meant to keep them moving, they are currently 110 feet away from the party.

Sitting upon the wagon, Fredrick kindly waves at the lone figure making their way towards them as any good folk would.

"Greetings! I hope your travels have been safe!" he says.

Eizan doesn't request anything. She's a bit too self-sufficient unless she knows she needs something.

The shaman rides her dog named Oda with the chicken Takeo riding her shoulder.

Noticing the lack of creatures she is the first to bring it up by saying, "The spirits do not like this land. No chirps, no buzzes, no growrfs! It is not, like cityfolk say, normal."

She's wary of this traveler now that her hackles are up. "Careful Fredrick-man. They might be not-normal."

Being one of the aforementioned City Folk, Robbert fails to notice the lack of animal sounds as they travel, having taken Fredrick's offer to sit in the Wagon with them. He does not however miss the figure they're approaching, but as others had already hailed them, and likely would be better at speaking, he keeps his mouth shut.
