The woman tilts her head toward Robbert when he gets near, as if she can sense his eagerness. "I'm Eveline Nems, and what is written in these scrolls, and books are all that I have left of my family, friends, and neighbors. So please understand when I say you'd have to pry them from my cold dead hands." The last of that coming out in a bit of a growl.

"Trees are silent. No bugs. No critters. Not even the slimiest slugs," Eizan proclaims as she rides her trotting dog Oda back toward the group.

She hopes someone will recount the tale and from the information she tries to think of anything like these shadows.

"I know there are a few creatures of legend that could do this, but off hand nothing that should be around in this day and age... I suppose we could check with Sir Trellis and check his Library for any local myths and legends."

Fredrick paces about still mulling over the recount of events. He slides back up onto the wagon and lets out a sigh. "There's one thing that makes sense." he says.

"It's more of an old folk tale from the breaking, but the story goes, an ancient tree, the Night Whisper, The tales say it lures sleeping individuals with a mournful song sung, drawing them to it and kills them." he says, "As for the smaller shadows, that is another thing."

"It is possible there could be a relation, or none at all." he adds.

"Vampire?" Eizan suggests, the 'a' and 'i' swirling in her mouth as she makes the sounds.

"Little wall scratchies maybe twigblight? Angry spirits go to angry plants - KAPOW!" she explains, clapping her hands together violently to show what she means. "Twigblight. But twigblight no make people vanish. No sing. Very bad singers, twigblight. Maybe friend of twigblight is big Night Whisper tree?"

"Maybe quest done? We bring Eveline-lady, story, and books back. Information key, the sir said. We return with plan?"

"I believe we should escort Eveline back to town, at the very least, since she's clearly been unable to rest safely whilst traveling." Ishino agrees with Eizan.

With the majority of the party in agreement and Eveline not wishing to waste a single moment on her trip everyone sets out back to Oprogunna and Sir Trellis. Missing a nights sleep entirely everyone is able to make it with no trouble. Once Eveline has woken Sir Trellis and given her information rather curtly the two of them quickly leave to see the local lord.

The captain of the guard arranging logging for the party at one of the prime hot springs of the area, their rooms and meals taken care of by Sir Trellis while they are asked to please stay in the city until he can get back to them. A full day passes before everyone is woken bright and early before the sun has even risen with news that they are still under the same contract with the same rewards, the only addendum being made is that Sir Trellis is asking the town not be looted in any way other than needed goods until proof that the citizens are actually dead can be found. He is hoping that since they seemed to have just vanished at night they are still alive. They are assured that Eveline is doing well and has thanked them as she is currently resting from her ordeal. Any who wish to check on her will find her fast asleep but otherwise healthy and well. For returning with this information as well as a survivor or Roush the lord has granted every member of the party one hundred platinum coins as a reward.

(Anything you wish to do with a days down time is up to you, the party will find themselves most of the way to Roush with night approaching. Will you make camp a few hours outside of town or press on through the night?)

"But we would not want to blow up any innocents that might pass Shiro, but we shall find conflict soon I assure you." Kira tries to comfort Shiro with her words and a smile.

Later on back on the road Kira looks to seeing the sun setting. "Shall we camp or push on?"

Taking the wax Robbert looks at it judgingly before pocketing it. "If this song is actually heard with our ears this might help, but if it's purely Psionic it will only prove a hindrance... As for pushing on, we know that the town walls provide no defense for the the inhabitants. I would think camping outside the walls and keeping two people on watch would reduce the likelihood of one of us walking off in the middle of the night."

"I have rope," Eizan proclaims, pulling rope from her saddle bag. "Smack, smack. Stake in ground. Tie to ankle. Bam! Struggle to escape."

The strange Arequin ties a harness around Oda and smacks the other end into the ground with a stake. It's clear she values her riding dog as a dear friend.

"Ear wax. Smell better than ear wax," she adds, stuffing the wax in her ears with a grin. Unable to gauge the volume of her voice, she replies to Ishino's question, "What? First wash? Oh! Watch! Me. I watch with you."

Pondering, Eizan suddenly snaps. Still speaking a bit too loud she says, "I wonder if same thing lured people away is the same as the monsters that scared Eveline-Lady? Sound different. Maybe shadow-people are take people on road and vampires take people in town? People in town take stuff. People on road left stuff."
