Faux Flag Posted May 23, 2022 Clone Share Posted May 23, 2022 A ragtag band of gunslinging outlaws get their hands dirty in the greasy alleyways and whisky-soaked saloons of Alkenstar, the City of Smog. To get revenge on the mogul who destroyed them, the renegades will have to stick up an illicit bank, foil a crooked shieldmarshal, and escort a reclusive inventor to safety. Alkenstar is a city of technological wonders. Nowhere else in the world can the random observer encounter the vast variety of technological innovations that burgeon within its cramped streets; quickdraw gunslingers brush shoulders with eccentric inventors and clockwork constructs. It is also a hive of dirt and corruption. Amid the tangle of pipes, smokestacks, and bricks that congest Alkenstar’s grimy manufacturing districts, those with means exploit those without. Villains like the cutthroat mogul Ambrost Mugland grow rich and powerful through nefarious dealings and taking advantage of the downtrodden and destitute, and all too often the authorities side with these scoundrels for their own personal gain. As rumours grow of a new, powerful invention, these ruthless magnates move to secure this opus for themselves. If the whispers are true and the invention falls into the wrong hands, it could change the face not only of Alkenstar but of Golarion itself. In Outlaws of Alkenstar, you are one of a group of outlaws—a notorious roughneck, wanted renegade, or wrongly accused runaway—currently at large and charged by the city of Alkenstar with breaking one, two, or a dozen laws. The crime or crimes you are charged with may be petty or severe, ranging from minor theft or trespassing to treason or even murder. You might have committed the crime intentionally or accidentally, or did it in the belief you were in the right. You may even be completely innocent and the victim of a setup. Because of your infamy, your life has been ruined. No one in polite society dares to be seen by your side, and your opportunities for honest work are slim to none. Whether you are guilty or not, the bulk of the blame for your ostracisation lies with the infamous business mogul Ambrost Mugland or Deputy Anjelique Loveless, a corrupt shieldmarshal in Mugland's pocket. Whatever your reasons, motives, or personal history, you are bound to the rest of your party by one shared drive: revenge. Now, to retain your freedom and eventually clear your name, you’ll need to stay one step ahead of the law by operating outside of it. The road to redemption is long and arduous, but there is no shortage of others who have been wronged by your nemesis who will help you on your way to vengeance.
